It drives me mad how short sighted the Pozzo's are. Every season we are woefully unequipped, we don't address any of our glaring flaws in the team and end up signing free agents / cast offs in the mid 30s to fill the gaps in the squad. None of them make us any better and we go back to square one when they leave.
Healey, the possible arrivals of Styles/Zemura/Mowatt and even Ince are smart pickups and do indicate some level of joined up thinking, but some of the other business we are doing really emphasises just how much work there is to do in the squad, and how little money there will be to do it
If we got those players in, I'd agree with them being smart pickups, but, like you say, there's still a lot to do with little money to do it. However, this is where the bloated hierarchical structure has to deliver. We've got Duxbury on massive wages, as well as Giaretta, Manga, Costa and all the other scouts. This has to pay dividends this season, or else what's the point in paying out all this money, just be a struggling Championship side? No, I can't believe that we'll just continue picking up obvious freebie journeymen. There has to be a few big surprises, who appear good, but are really off the radar.
I assume we'll be fishing the in PL outcast loan pond later in the window too. Suspect that'll be the main way we look to boost the squad in a less financially risky way.
Assuming he will be announced first thing since his shirt has already been made for the game against Boreham Wood this afternoon.
Researchers for the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority found over 200 dead crows near greater Boston recently, and there was concern that they may have died from Avian Flu. A Bird Pathologist examined the remains of all the crows, and, to everyone's relief, confirmed the problem was definitely NOT Avian Flu. The cause of death appeared to be vehicular impacts. However, during the detailed analysis it was noted that varying colors of paints appeared on the bird's beaks and claws. By analyzing these paint residues it was determined that 98% of the crows had been killed by impact with trucks, while only 2% were killed by an impact with a car. MTA then hired an Ornithological Behaviorist to determine if there was a cause for the disproportionate percentages of truck kills versus car kills. The Ornithological Behaviorist very quickly concluded the cause: when crows eat road kill, they always have a look-out crow in a nearby tree to warn of impending danger. The scientific conclusion was that while all the lookout crows could say "Cah", none could say "Truck."
We need signings. We need signings. We must have signings... We’ve made one? Yayyyyy. Oh no, wait........
Was your information a signing was to be announced rather than it specifically being Livermore? Only asking as we've just put up a young defender joining the academy on the official site, so if your info was the media team were springing(!) into action, maybe it's that?
I like that. Neiter under nor over. Fence sitting is the prime state of mind of a Watford fan right now.
I'm hearing this is done and will be announced soon, unless something unforeseen changes that, in which case there's a possibility we were never in for him at all. Watch this space.
