I like the ones that turn on us when we don't play their favourite player or deem them to be crap and then wish eternal damnation on our club in broken English.
If the right player becomes available it's a distinct possibility but nothing in motion at present, though this could change quickl
Andrew French says in the replies that this signing has overtaken another one, that could well still happen.
Would have thought that’s Pellistri but then he has written another tweet seemingly saying that one of both of the remaining incomings will be permanent deals due to the loan issue
The transfer activity in the summer really was a disgrace. Alright we didn't have Manga, Costa etc but it's not hard to target younger players, isn't that something the Pozzos are known for? Once again we've shafted ourselves and are reacting after the damage is done.
True, but at least we seem to be reacting in the right way which is a massive change. Normally we just keep digging the hole deeper.
I do hope so! At what age does one officially become an ' old dear' and does it coincide with buying a tartan shopping trolley and zip up bottees?
Is he a number 9 type? Most likely to play central? Apologies if I’ve missed this info on the thread which I have read through since started.
Yep. Not to mention the money wasted, the squad places wasted on more unmovable crap and the whole upheaval of the coach, yet again, after an 'A-' summer of a transfer debacle.
This is exciting! Looks to have a pretty good record, albeit at youth level but no stranger to putting the ball in the back of the net. Only concern is how long it'll take him to adapt to the division, we need someone who can come in storming really but nonetheless, exciting and a far crying from that Bayat rubbish.
Could they not have knocked him out, chopped out his youthful hamstrings and popped him on the next flight back to Portugal?
Some dont even get to the running stage. Just a mildly exuberant climb onto the physios table is enough to cause a 3 monther.
Of course, football is percentages but a player familiar with the league / English football increases the chance a tad. Signings like Ben Watson, Guediora, etc. It’s a moot point however as I don’t think they exist in the striker position right now.
There's a good quote by the old Liverpool Sporting Director that I like "There's 6 ways a transfer can fail 1) The player might not be as good as you thought 2) The player doesn't fit the style 3) Manager doesn't like the player 4) Player is played out of position 5) Player has injury/personal problems 6) Player isn't better than someone already at the club Even if you're 90% sureof all those being right then that's only a 54% chance of that transfer being successful (0.9 x 6)"
