Football Manager 2012

I've actually purchased a new suit just for this game. And one of those pressboards with all the sponsors on.

Just pre-ordered the game on steam. $40 seems pretty reasonable to me. Definitely cheaper than buying it back home. Looking forward to getting into it.

Been needing a distraction from my studies and this is the perfect remedy. Just finished my mid-terms so i've got a few weeks to get some serious game time in before finals in December.

Really looking forward to the game now. Having messed about with the demo, they seem to have made some pretty major improvements. Team talks are a lot better now with the instant recognition of how the players react. I like how much variation you can have with them now. Press conferences still seem a bit pointless and I know i'll end up saying pretty much the same thing again and again. That was a bit disappointing for me because I think they could make the media conferences mean a lot more. Found the new tactics screen easy to use and a lot more informative. Being able to hover on a player and see his stats is also a great new thing.

Another step forward in the series I think.

I do work for SI, and my cousin is an employee of SI. You're right in what you say, but there are ways around that.

 

Bought the game this morning.

Still doesn't work, causes my entire computer to freeze. Great.

 

Got my game, and must say - i'm impressed. Would seriously appreciate any recommendations for my first save, I was thinking perhaps Crewe - get them playing nice football, whilst developing the youngsters and slowly aiming for promotion. Any other ideas hugely welcome.

 

Up and running fine for me. Started out as Tottenham, though I doubt the game will last long. Will use it to find my feet and then get on with the serious business of taking the WFC job.

 

Always play as the Toon, i have no idea why i just like them. Shaqiri (spelling?) and eriksen have been quality signings so far!

 

Brought this today along with Batman for the Xbox. Surprisingly I've put Batman down long enough to start a game with Watford. Not sure if my heart is really in it yet, but I'll give it a go as always! Don't have that much time any more for a solid 12 hour session of FM unfortunately. I might post the odd update, if I continue. Once I've failed with Watford as I normally do, I'll probably start up a game in my traditional heartland of the Blue Square South, possibly with the team at my current place of residence Maidenhead United. Up the magpies!

 

One thing that never fails to amaze me on FM is how ridiculously wrong so many of the player attributes are. Messi only 17 first touch and creativity? Aguero 15 finishing? Forsyth 15 dribbling?!

I haven't clicked on one player yet who has less than at least 5 different stats that I think are completely wrong. Every year I find myself spending more time sorting out all of the crappy choice of player attributes than playing the actual game. Drives me insane.

 

I've managed to get this working on an older laptop.

Currently managing FC Krymteplytsia Molodizhne in the Ukranian First Division.... Going to be a bloody long game.

 

Does anyone think it's a bit easy? Admittedly I just imported my old FM11 (which was imported from FM10!) tactics but I'm sitting in 7th*, 6 points behind West Ham in first. I haven't made any signings except for Heidar on loan and he rarely plays anyway.

I do like the new team talks but it seems that whatever approach I take, only Lloyd and Eustace actually get any kind of morale boost.

 

Got Mackie on loan like someone else has said and also Enric Valles from Birmingham for 200k.
Pre-season is going well so far, like the new camera angles and the new team talks are a big improvement

 

That's because the players now have far greater personalities, signing certain types of players based on character is now far more rewarding. Don't agree with you on the easy front, tough season so far with Crewe - mind you, only 2 points off the playoffs.

 

Well my game is going shockingly badly. won 1 game in 8 so far. I can't get confidence up (maybe because I can't speak Ukrainian...)

 

I'm also in the play offs, 6th at the moment.

Frimpong is an amazing loan signing and Sanchez Watt does a job for me. Also found a lot of success with Emu up front, whilst Sordell can't hit a barn door. Loovenss is my only permanent signing.

i like this new game.

like one of the above posts ive found doyley to be very amenable in the dressing room. i can pretty much say anything to him and he apparently just looks happy. im beginning to wonder if he actually understands what im saying.

 

Am I right in thinking once I've installed it through Steam I shouldn't need the disc to play and could therefore sell it to my mate?

I've decided i'm going to wait till later in the week before I attempt to get to grips with the lower leagues, I wasn't much of a success at Crewe. So will get to grips with the game in the Premier League, Chelsea or Norwich I think - Newcastle up there too.

 

The media in the game can be a little annoying at times.

I only won 2 of my opening 9 games and I heard nothing from the Media about my job security. I've just won the last 3 games including a victory over 4th placed Dynamo-2 Kyiv. After the 3rd win there's the news story "Pressure grows on Boss" (me) saying that if I lose my next game I'm out....

 

How is the game lads? I'm considering buying it.

 

I'm enjoying it, despite having a poor season.

The best new part of the game is that you can add or remove leagues as you go along.
But if you prefer to just stay in England then it's still a great game. It doesn't really matter whether you create every intricate detail of training and tactics or whether you just play the default basic 4-4-2, so it's good no matter what your interest.

 

I've settled for a quick game as Arsenal until I start in the lower leagues after my torrid time at Crewe, time to bring glory back to the Emirates.

 

im 9th in the league as watford half way through october.

iwelumo and heidar (on loan) have been banging in the goals. iwelumo has already notched up two hattricks so far this season.

i almost got a nasty surprise when a news title appeared 'stewart gets watford firing,' turns out they were just complimenting me on scoring 28 goals in our first 15 games.

 

How the hell did you sign Helguson?? He wanted £13k a week on my game!

 

I got him, what goal did you set at the start of the season?

Iwelumo has been good for me too so far though only 5 games in.

 

Also, though I'm early in still, Sordell is injured but is complaining that he isn't getting first team football???
