Ok cheers Diakhate looks a decent player. Btw with the hint about money, Is the £8m example all over 24 months? Not a mixture of that upfront and monthly

    Prentice Administrator

    All over 24 months yeah.

If you were to offer £2M upfront, and £6M over 24 months, then it would take the £2M out, and half the £6M out, so .. £5M in total. Does that make sense?

Well, if you think you're going to bring in enough cash over the 2 years to cover the surplus then it'll be fine!

Just got a new laptop for the old birthday tomorrow and will be purchasing FM shortly, but does anyone recommend using the 3D-match engine or is the classic one alot better? also...any recomendations as to who i should start with (other then watford)

3D Match is okay but i still use the 2D Classic, much more addictive IMO, but depending on your laptop/computer speeds will vary

    ok your loss. ;)

in my villa team he is now my first choice substitute defender after turning in some consistently good appearances in the league cup against lower league and premiership opposition.

i use 3d match, its quite funny to watch. especially when your players celebrate and they just kinda run around like headless chickens.

We finished with 4 wins on the bounce and in 4th place but we were well off the top two so some changes took place over the summer with 4 first team squad members leaving on a free, two of which i had high hopes for but with the wage bill needing slashing they were signed up by other teams after offering them out for nothing. A host of players were released after stepping up to the reserves from the under 18s whilst 4 of my promising youngsters are out on loan in the 2nd division, 2 at my feeder club.

5 players arrived at the club, one being a half NI and half Iraqi striker on loan from premier side Glenavon, whilst a keeper and CB joined on frees having been released by West Ham, they could be two top signings if they play to their full ability but i shant hold my breathe. A CM released by QPR also joined as did a striker released by league rivals Distillery.

In order to have a bigger wage budget i told the board i'd be challenging for promotion which is a tad optimistic but having just signed a new 3 year deal i can't see myself getting sacked if we fail to go up, incidentally the chairman wants to sell up with first a director being rumoured to step into the role but then more pleasingly a supporters trust spoke of their interest, somewhat suprising given the fact we average around 300. Perhaps it's the fact Portstewart is an affluent area and a rich local is a fan

My 9th season started with a win and a draw, the opening day was a 4-1 win something which has become the norm, winning on the opening day that is, in the 9 opening day fixtures i've played we've only lost once and we've scored 24 goals in the process. This usually involves one of my strikers bagging 2 or 3 and giving me hope they'll continue that way throughout the season, inevitably it doesn't happen

    Ho hum, onwards!

    West Brom career

I have a fairly small squad and now i have four injuries and one suspension and have just got back two injured players. The current injuries are quite length as well

Kim do Hyon is out for 7-8 weeks
Morrison(broken leg) who hast had a game this season apart from one friendly is not back for another two-three months
    Tuncay another two weeks
    Mulumbu for another two-three weeks

Just back off injury but with no fitness and energy Texiera and Valero. I have had an injury hit season so far along with not taking my chances and defence howlers, realistic for WBA! :]]

A plus point after a tough start 15th in the league after 7 games

    Wigan Away lost 2-0 :dismay:
Boro Home 1-1 late equalizer for me :)
    Newcastle away Lost 2-1
    Liverpool Home Lost 2-0
Bolton Away 1-1 luckily after going down to ten men after 50 minutes
Arsenal Home 2-2 Leading one nil they went down to ten men and scored 2! Brunt with late equalizer
Hull Away (first win!) 3-0 dominant

    Next- Man Utd away :dismay:

    A great goalkeeper

Johan Carrosso 20 years old costs about 85k first season

Current level decent for most championship sides

    Potential decent premiership level

    Absolute bargain!

If you want a really cheap and great buy I strongly recommend daniele vantaggiato from Parma 200k I think and really bangs in the goals even though his stats aren't amazing.

I had him on my first wba and was fairly decent but did miss some big chances, last years game he was amazing thats how i know him.

Just played Man Utd and lost 3-0 and the referee was Mr Stuart Attwell who gave manure a nice head start with a dodgy penalty oh and it was at old trafford! Typical

Well I went back to my St.Albans game in season 2014/2015 after what must be a 4 month or so break. When I left we were languishing at the foot of League One after a meteoric rise up from the BSS (this was after spending 3 seasons in the BSS to start with and two in League Two).

Anyway the break had obviously done my tactical nous some good as with a couple of decent loan signings from my parent club Arsenal (I am one of Wenger's favourites by the way), we started to climb out of the relegation zone.

However something then happened that I didn't anticipate, Grimsby Town about five places above us in League One got taken over by some mega rich Finnish businessman. His first job was to sack Mike Newell (ha ha) and head hunt me for the job! It was a tough decision but I accepted. My first game saw me draw 0-0 in the second leg of the paint pot trophy semi-final and thus advance to Wembley immediately!!

So with a good 7 million to spend I then went out and bought some top quality youngsters from the likes of Arsenal and Villa and also spent £1 million on the top scorer in League One (he's good trust me!). So we slowly have started to climb the table. Promotion this season will probably be tough but with a few bob to spend in the summer I reckon we could walk League One if we're still around next season.

    I'm back in the game!!

I've got my FM up and running again, and I'm currently on a run of 4 or 5 draws in a row. This is my 4th season in the BSP with Chelmsford and promotion doesn't look like it's going to happen, well not this season at least. Hopefully next season I can mount a challenge.

Only one, Jack Ainsley a left winger who I'd only just brought for St.Albans. 300k was enough to tempt him away though.

As it happens St.Albans are still doing ok without me. I did take a few of their back room staff too, but with the money I have I can get much better players than my loyal St.Albans stalwarts!

Ok, quite crappy FM player here, I've got about 30 million to spend on transfers and quite a lot for wages aswell (no cheating, watford got taken over by some swiss rich people) and I need to buy a good attacking midfielder/striker. I've just started the second season, 3 games in and 2 draws and 1 lost. Bought a few defenders in and a few defending midfielders so that area is good its just the attacking area can't score for $hit. Bought Kevin Doyle in my first season and he scored about 15 goals but most of them tap in's, he never scores in the desperate times that you need goals. So do u know any good attacking midfielders and strikers, world class if you like as I have a lot of money to spend. Have a few lined up but haven't put bids in yet.

Are you in the prem or champ still?
Look in brazil you get some class palyers there.

    Wagner?
Robert Koren? On wba career he is class and wanted by 5 prem clubs with an average rating of 7.3, he must be doing something right!
Vukienvic spelling? But plays for Lisbon is class but you have to be at least in the prem

    Remaining Budget: £27.32 Million

    Bloody hell

The trouble is finding a good player who will join watford :naughty:

Do you want some cheap players for the future who have great potential eg good premiership player or more?

Exactly, thats the hard part, theres loads of players to pick from but they won't want to sign for Watford. Would prefer a good player that can do effect now. I have quite a few good players ATM but for some pi$$ taking reason they can't put a ball in the net, even with the team instructions changed.

    Tactics- What do you do?

On careers were i have good passers like with wba i use this but against the top four its hard as its really offensive therefore i change it when playing against them. I score some really good passing goals

We finished the season in promotion form, 6 wins out of the last 7 games but unfortunately the teams in the playoff had too big a gap on us and we finished 7th, 8 points off of the playoff places.

David Gilroy who'd never really shone at this level got a run in the team after Scott Rendell got an injury, and perhaps proved me wrong in dropping him as he finished the season in fine form. I've certainly got a lot to think about for next season.

    Up the Clarets!

I've strengthened my squad with a few decent signings, including quite a coup in Danny Crow (on a free). I also signed a keeper from Woking on a free to challenge Jake Cole for the no.1 shirt. I'm in the process of buying a midfielder from Brentford who I've been told should be signed at all costs by my scouting team. I tried to get Ben Higgins back on loan from my parent club Fulham but they declined my offer, perhaps he'll end up in the first team squad. Also, if you remember I loaned Jermaine Cooper from them a few seasons back, he scored 5 in 11 for them last season so I'm pleased we played a part in his progress.

A large amount of my squad were out of contract, so I released a few of the older players as well as some reserve/u-18's. New contracts were worked out for Graeme Edwards, Lee Booth, Astrit Adjarevic, David Gilroy and Dominic Bowkers amongst others.

My first game of the season is a tricky trip to Grays Athletic, but I'm confident we can go and get the result. I'm tempted to tell the board I can achieve promotion but I may say a top half finish just to be on the safe side, and it may be a little more realistic.

Just reached january transfer window and for the last two-three months the defence has gelled and performed really well so there is no need to sign a replacement.

But thanks for the help, i think i will sign Diakhate which was recommended by prentice as i will have a big clear out and loan out youngsters in the summer.

Overall we are performing well and about 11th in the league way above expectations. Mainly due to a solid defence which are maintaining my unbeaten streaks. Fortune is starting to get in the goals but the stand out performers are Miranda CB, Koren CM and Zuiverloon RB i would say.

But i still have £5m left and no need to change my squad at the moment and i have many youngsters for the future. Therefore i will leave it for the first time ever

The money can used on nicking players from relegated clubs on the cheap sunderland without a doubt only 7 points so far and then out of west ham/stoke/hull i would say for the other two spots. Looking at these teams possible signings if cheap-

    turner,geovanni,zayatte-Hull
    richardson, jones-Sunderland
    noble,collison,behrami-West Ham
    lawrence,fuller,whelan-Stoke

I've finally given in temptation and got myself the game.

5 matches in and I was top of the league, still in the top 2 at the end of Sept with pretty much the original squad and it seemed a bit too easy (only signings were John Ruddy and HH on loan, and a defender on free)

Then I suffered a horrible 4.0 defeat to QPR and got very angry at the players (it came on a back of a 5.0 defeat to Newcastle in the Carling Cup) and it seems the players are getting revenge by not winning since!! Priskin hasn't scored in over 1000 minutes and whilst i'm in Dec and Rasiak already has 13 he hasn't scored in ages. I've dropped down the league like a very heavy stone and now cling on to 10th, 13 points of the auto positions :(

I've tried my previous formation of 2008 but that made things worse

The people that brought the club aren't putting money in and even though i sold players GS stopped me spending it and the new people have taken away what i had!! In fact it's since the takeover everything has gone wrong...

So i'm addicted again (sitting playing it in the sun) and as usual i'm experiencing the hate/love relationship :dismay:

Rough, im also doing a season with Watford but lucky for me some rich owners took over. im pretty crap at the game and I got a few tips from some people. I don't know if its me or if its the actual Watford team on FM but I have Kevin Doyle and he is suppost to be one of the best strikers in the CCC and even at premiership level. Yet he does f**k all for the team. Next time im on it I will definatly buy Ebanks Blake as so many people have said that he scores a hell of a lot of goals. With the help I got from other people I have suscessfully changed the team around and now they attack like f**k but the only problem is they always have the ball but some how they can't score. Fulham and a few other premiership teams want Doyle for 8 Million + so i'm definatly gonna sell him and buy ebanks blake.
