    Muttley's penny sale.

Here he comes. He's coming now.

That Trestle is a total disaster in the making.

    Punchy, yes he should be.

Christina referring to the Blues: "Look at hose grins. We'll soon sort those out."

For a wonderful moment, I thought Christina might dress up as a Dr Who assistant.

Don't ******* even joke about this one - the Holy Grail of the animated remakes. Because of the withdrawal of BBC AMERICA form the consortium of companies involved with making them it looks like this will now never happen...

    BBC approved preamble:
    Shrewsbury 16
    Bargain Hunt Series 58
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000w0rl
Hello, hello, hello - Christina Trevanion is on patrol for today’s Bargain Hunt in Shrewsbury, where she finds out about the world’s most famous police phone box. The teams in red and blues are on the beat with experts Thomas Forrester and Kate Bliss, looking for three items to go under the hammer with auctioneer Philip Serrell.

    The Translation:
Today's episode gets off to a promising start when Christina, our Doctor Phew, dresses up in uniform and proceeds to give her lovely head to a prominent helmet. She stumbles into a Police Box which turns out to be the TARDIS and transports to the Shrewsbury Flea, Antique and Collectors Fair where she is joined by companions Tubby Thomas and Trills Shrills. Tubby finds a Sonic Screwdriver which when activated bursts his trousers and makes his pants fall down, reminding him of his schooldays. Trilly wonders if the screwdriver is silver and searches for hallmarks and finds one for London 1963. They dematerialise and end up at the Planet of the Peepers, Shufflers, and Creepers with it's resident tyrant, Emperor Muttley, who imprisons them and flogs the TARDIS off for a tenner (the limit for most of his items in this Skinflinting part of the Galaxy). Meanwhile, clever Christina, beauty as well as brains, has hoodwinked Serrell, not that difficult, by swapping the Time and Space travelling machine with a cheap Plywood knock-off Police Box she earmarked while in Shrewsbury. She escapes with Trills and they decide to leave the useless Tubby behind as even the TARDIS is struggling to transport that bulk around the Universe. Muttley and Serrell open their new Auction House SOS Planet of Our Souls and manage to sell some upcycled wooden crates to the Daleks led by Richard Winterton in his Skaro Showroom.

    The Staff:
[Gaffer] Temptress Christina Trevanion, you get so much more than you bargained for
[Red Team Expert] Tubby Thomas Forrester, the plump schoolboy, bursting out for Britain
[Blue Team Expert] Posh Kate Shrilly Trilly Bliss
[Auctioneer] Philip Muttley Serrell avec scarf de tat, pullover de moth et gillet piq*re de puce
[Auction Location] Titus A Ducksarse Auction Tomb, Malvern, Worcester
    (Miserlin Rating: One Star)

    Start.jpeg Auction.jpeg

    The Teams:
[Red Team] Buzzcut female partners who met in the Prison Service and are into Militaria, Discipline, Handcuffs etc. They're into Doggy. Tubby Thomas will be their 'banged up bitch'.
    (Challenge: Carved)
[Blue Team] Married Rock 'n Roll Dancing Partners, she is annoying. Someone should remind them that Elvis died on the bog.
    (Challenge: Makes a sound)

    The Shopping:
Reds: Bewick bulldogs (15) OK, Dutch oak carved wall shelf (88 Challenge) struggle, Boxed Cupid conch cameo stick pin (70 Challenge) topend.
Blues: Spelter horsey (45) OK, Automobilia metal sign (75) topend, Brass door bell (8 Challenge) home and hosed says Muttley.

    The Distraction:
Christina blows whistles, fiddles with a helmet and dresses up while entering a box crowned with a flashing appendage all in the name of heart cockle warming for the Gentlemen watching at home. It doesn't seem quite so cold now.

    Distraction.jpg

    The Auction:
Reds: Bewick bulldogs (small loss), Dutch oak carved wall shelf (big loss), Boxed Cupid conch cameo stick pin (tenner profit).
Tubby's BB is a Skipware painter's trestle (105), REJECTED, 50-80, punchy as in he is going to get punched, 70, yup it tanked.

    OakShelf.jpeg Trestle.jpeg

Blues: Spelter horsey (small loss), Automobilia metal sign (big loss), Brass door bell (2 quid profit).
Trilly's BB is a Silver/White metal Hunter pocket watch and key (50), 40-60, 30, loss for Trilly on some silver/jewellery. Very rare for this to happen. I think we know why.

    Sign.jpeg HunterWatch.jpeg

    The Aftermath:
What a rotten Auction. Serrell's bunch of Misers and Skinflints never dig deep in their pockets and you have to rely on online bids. Very saleable items that are only sold for a tenner. Tubby's Reds signed their death warrant with that oak shelf which was way, way too expensive for Muttley's Steptoe mates. He then compounded matters with that Danny Squeak-inspired painter's trestle for 100+. Even Hanson, or those swanky London Auction rooms would struggle to get near that. A total disaster. No wonder the Buzzcut Twins had no qualms about ditching this instant loss (it would've taken their overall loss to 3 figures). Trilly's Blues didn't fare much better. Spelter horsey and that metal sign were bought without haggling, which made the prospect of a profit so much tougher.

    RedLoss.jpeg BlueLoss.jpeg

    The Hi-Kick:
Outdoor Covid diagonal on uneven grass. Everyone makes par, coordination variable and Blue Girl's acceptable effort obscured by Trilly, so non-optimum angle on the diagonal. Yes, YES!!

She was also in The Likely Lads film, one of the better TV series big screen outings, as Terry's Finnish girlfriend:

One of my favourite ever quotes is from this scene of Bob meeting Terry when he's fishing.
Terry: I’d offer you a beer but I’ve only got 6 cans”.
