Feel for Zverev, hasn't been as aggressive as he needs to and his transition game is poor.

Harry Searle lost in quarters to Prizmic of Serbia in the boys event.

Apparently Zverev snr called Zverev an "idiot" in German and Zverev replied " stop giving me the look".

Impossible to play with such dialogue.

Let’s hope ND won’t be in ruud health by tomorrow evening.

Swiatek wins her 3rd title in 4 years in Paris .

Muchova made a good match of it seemly though

As Karolina said " So close but so far".

Up a break a couple of times in the third having been a set and 3-0 down, she couldn't quite get over the line.

Shame as her game is beautiful to watch, all court and with a variety of spin, height and speed.

Perhaps she can transfer it to the green hard courts at Wimbledon, the ones that the AELTC changed and almost certainly prevented Henman from winning and allowing Hewitt,Nadal and Djokovic to do so.

    A relation to Richard ?

Is there the same support for doubles at the other slams as there is at Wimbledon ?

I don't think so. American this chap. Richard has a sister who played on the tour until a few years ago.

Doubles on the tour has been relegated to second tier I suppose, mainly surprise surprise because of the huge prize money in singles.

Days past, think Martina,BJK, Newcombe,Roache, they played all three events to increase their prize money.

At RG the mixed was on Thursday so very much on the undercard. Mixed has always been my favourite event to play.

However if you listen to Peter Fleming who I always find an astute and amusing commentator, unlike most of the waffling wassocks that Eurosport and Amazon employ,he will say that he and JPMc played their men's doubles finals on the Friday at FM,11am! I think it's still the same.

Almost two tours now. Singles and doubles.

Pretty much only Tsitsi and Gauff/Pegula of top players who play. Tsitsi to help his transition game and his brother,Gauff and Pegula the same and because they're pals.

I haven't really answered the question have I?

I think spectators love doubles especially at the French because the majority of tickets go to the clubs therefore players. Not so at the other three. It's the sponsors who have limited its exposure.

What a truly ghastly day for tennis. Uff.

Rafa would still be the goat imo were he not injured so much. This tournament, the Aussie open, last year’s Wimbledon etc

And to compound my misery, the awful Lionel Ritchie is playing an outdoor concert in my town tonight so I will be enforced to enjoy that drivel disturbing my peace.

Poor Andy Murray is being made to wait to continue his final in surbiton.

A set and break up too.

    GOAT status confirmed for Novak.

It's been a pleasure watching and cheering him on the last 16 years or so and pleased to have been around to see history.

    Bloody LTA site!

Can't access my coach secure area but it tells me it's rain at Surbiton!

Millions they've spent on it and it fails a dozen times a week.

Predictable result and congratulations to ND.

To be admired but not enjoyed I would say was the majority opinion.

Not sure the '23' seemingly crayoned on his top was a good idea!

Yannick N appears to have turned into Denzil!

    Always the first to congratulate.

Mr IBB sat next to him at a couple of Wimbledon Balls.

    He is delightful.

All modern players owe a debt to Jack Kramer and the Handsome Eight for post '68 to occur.

Far from it. The help he gives to underprivileged tennis players for example has been exemplary as well as donating millions to charities.

This is true but the women still hit the ball over the net don't they?!

Although given the Elliswick first pair today I'm finding it hard to recall!

Never known two players take so long between points, games, before serving, everything!

At one stage I thought they were re writing the Encyclopedia Britannica!

I’m surprised you didn’t report them for slow play

My partner Jane had played a county match at St George's Hill on Saturday and had suffered heat stroke as had Suzie Dart, mother of Harriet.

I wasn't overly keen in hanging around in the heat for her sake but as there had already been a couple of incidents* I kept quiet.

Azarenka being out 'shrieked' at the Limp Open or whatever it's called by Stevanovic. Can't help but think it's deliberate. She's now ' eeeing' like Eeyore! Odd.

    * When our second pair played them the larger lady caught a ball that was going out. Our pair claimed the point, quite correctly, it's a rule. The larger lady got huffy and it went on and on whilst we looked on bemused.

Later in our match the other lady ran towards the net and in doing so lost her hat. I called " let", again a rule. Lose your hat/headwear or a ball from your pocket it's a let. If it happens again, you lose the point.

This was met with a cool silence down the other end but nothing was said!

Someone tell Jodie Burrage to ask which foot is guilty of the fault and then step back from the baseline six inches.

    Infuriating and avoidable.

Moronic commentating from Matt Chilton (?) on the Snigur v Boulter match.

So biased and failing to notice that Snigur time and time again fails to move up the court when she has Boulter under pressure.

    Gormless sap.

    From Opta.

3 - Three British players (Jodie Burrage, Katie Boulter and Heather Watson) will feature to a WTA tournament semi-finals for the first time since Paris Indoor 1975 (Sue Barker, Glynis Coles and Virginia Wade).
