Musetti v Shevchenko is a vast contrast in styles.

Musetti all Italian flair and panache. Shevchenko pummeling the ball like almost all Russians. Tennis oxymoron - Russian finesse.*

In fairness to Shev he's worth more than the two games he has at 6-1 4-1 Musetti.

    * Daria Kasakina notwithstanding.

Djokovic playing himself in rather nicely.

Fuscovic played very well but didn't win a set.

Monfils withdraws from his second round match v Rune.

A real shame for him and the crowd but an enormous pity for Baez who played brilliantly against his opponent and the crowd.

In days past when he was cramping the player would have withdrawn at match point.

He's had almost no play for a long time, his chances of recovering in under 48 hours were almost non existent, even if he hadn't hurt his wrist.

Leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

Extraordinary match between Sinner and Altmaier.

The German extracting revenge in five for his US Open defeat again in five.

Baby Fritz may regret 'sushing' the Parisian crowd after defeating Rinderknach in another enthralling match at Rolan Garros.

They never forget and rarely forgive!

Pegula out to Mertens - feel that is not such a big surprise though .

Sonego fighting back from 2 sets down to knock out Rublev.

Pegula looked very flat and Mertens is usually gritty.

Ruble lost his mind, serving and volleying at set point down is not a good idea for a man with the hands of Harold Shipman!

Pleased for Sonego as he has great feel as well as power.

Musetti certainly has the Muses with him.

Two sets,5-4,15-0 he hit the most outrageous forehand on the run and somehow got it behind Norrie.

Three points later it was done. 6-1,6-1,6-4.

Hits an amazing round the net post backhand up the line!

The surprise isn't that Alcatraz is two sets up against Shapovalov.

The surprise is that Dennis won two rounds to get here.

    Infuriating player.

All the shots but hasn't improved in the last two years and has gone backwards this year.

    A waste.

Cannot be too many players from Peru who have made it into the 4th round of a slam but Juan Pablo Varillas has done that knocking out HH in 5 sets.

Yes a fantastic achievement and shows how well South American tennis does, both now and historically.

Vilas,Jose Louis Clerc,Sabatini,Guga, Ecuadorian Andreas Gomes who won in '90 ( was it Gomes? I think so!),Coria, JMDP, Cerundolo,Hadhad Maia, Seyboth Wild...few doubles guys too,Arevalo from El Salvador, two Argentinians in the quarters too that I haven't heard of!
Rios,Massu, now coaching Schwartzman,Jarry, Gonzalez of the enormous forehand flying the flag for Chile.

Edit: Just checked and a couple of Mexicans still in the men's dubs!

Rybakina has pulled out of her match with a virus.

Shame as she would have been a strong contender to win.

    Ah that is a shame.

Second or third favourite behind Swiatek and Nurse Diesel Saba I'd say.

Rune through in straight sets .

    Etcheverry 2 up v Coric

Two more Argentinians there, one a qualifier who from the little I saw just ran out of gas. Coric bores me so glad he's struggling!

Younger Andreeva a set up on Gauff and her increasingly wobbly forehand.

Nishioka wins the 5th set v Wild with a bagel !

Tsurenko flying the oldies flag as well as Ukrainian.

Good day for South American mens tennis so far .

Hannah Klugman has qualified for the junior event. She's 14 but when you consider Mirra Andreeva is 16 and Brenda Fruhvitova too and they're about 140 and 150 in the world it gives you some ideas of how brutal it is.

Zverev two sets to one up on the running pint of Guinness that is Tiafoe.

    Hideous forehand but effective.

Pavlyuchenkova gets over the line eventually v Mertens.

KK 2-1 sets and a break up.

    Good day for Russians.

Sonego ran out of energy, shame as he's better to watch than the rather prosaic Khachanov.

Mertens junked Pav around but ran out of game in the end.

Think Mertens had a medical issue too which didn’t help .

Sonego rather blew the tie break in the 2nd set - was 4-1 up .

Sunday afternoon knock about for Djokovic?

And the Czech machine goes on and on!
    Kvitova, Fruhvitova x 2,Nostrova, Muchova, Vondrousova,Pliskova x 2.

    Ridiculous numbers they produce.

I read their blueprint years ago.

Simple but demands people understand tennis or want to. Not a priority in our clubs!

Superb point on Chatrier between Musetti and Alcatraz.

In a contest to see who can both out hit and out dink each other Musetti gives Carlos the eyes and plays the shot back behind him. The reaction is superb, Alcaraz laughing in appreciation of his opponent's nerve and skill!

    Yes she's a worker it's true.

    Kas had her chances.

No one is beating Alcaraz here.
