I imagine Bournemouth fans will go in to meltdown when we accept a bid but Sarr turns them down saying he would rather stay at Watford
My favourite today was the handful of times the ball was approaching his bit of the pitch in the air and he’d just stand there watching or, even better, start peeling off in the vain hope the defender would miss it completely. Top top work.
This c**t is a total clown. Hilarious how all the pundits rave about him. He's genuinely our worst ever signing pound-for-pound! £35m? F**k me.
We’re a basket case for sure and it was a terrible move for him coming to us, but it’s baffling how he’ll willingly allow his own career to be flushed down the drain by just continually going through the motions week in week out.
Awful performance. So so lacking. That performance with his ability probably makes him the most underperforming player in the whole country. To pay him for being such a coward is disgraceful. If the club have any backbone, he should be fined a week wages and dropped until he’s willing to commit.
I think calling him personal things is a step too far - sounds odd but I still subscribe to the GT school of basic respect for individuals as humans. GT was treated disgracefully and labelled horribly. Now I’m not putting Sarr down as an equal - but he’s clearly not a showy, celeb type who is taking us for a ride. He’s obviously a shy lad who has got caught up in the madness that is Watford Football Club. And since that initial marriage, there’s fault on both sides. But his lack of effort or progression is really symptomatic of us as a club. ‘Look where we were, look where we are, and look how it could’ve been different.’ It’s best he moves on - he isn’t going to suddenly snap out of this malaise. But he won’t get pelters from me. As much as I’d love to believe that everyone should want to be the best version of themselves they can…I accept that isn’t always the case. Watford Football Club has taken its toll on the lad. Time for him to ask to escape. But crikey - he’s clearly a nice lad. I despair at anyone (BW or COG…lol) who says they ‘hate’ him or anything else fairly disgusting. I align myself with people on this forum - but I’m disgusted at that type of language from anyone.
Fully agree with this take. I'm fed up of seeing him in a Watford shirt where it's clear he's not playing with even trying to replicate the mentality he would with Senegal. I'm tired of him looking disintersted and taking a spot from another player who at least may show some care. But personal attacks are not acceptable.
This is the most ******* ridiculous post I've read on here for at least 2 years. Congratulations. You win.
Isn’t 25 million the amount Villa had accepted in the summer ? Probably sums his contribution up that teams want to pay less now! https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/2119...lla-crystal-palace-ismaila-sarr-transfer/amp/
I don’t want us to sell him personally, however if we do get £25mil with a substantial amount upfront then we would be stupid to turn that down. Personally I don’t think anyone is going to offer us that for him, wouldn’t be surprised if a team like Palace come in for him on deadline day for £15mil, which Gino won’t accept. Just got to hope someone is desperate enough to pay that £25mil fee or close to it. It’s time for a rebuild. Manga signed a 5 year deal and took on this project. He did it at Frankfurt and it took them 3–4 years (I think) to become the team they are today. I just hope Gino really does have that amount of patience (very doubtful). We just need a good clear out of all the dross in the summer. Cleverley, Gosling, Bacuna, Kaba, Okoye, Gaspar, Kayembe, Manaj, Bayo, Kalu. Choudhury, Davis, Araujo, Martins, Kamara and Hause will all be back at their parent clubs. Next season will look like this: GK: Bachmann Hamer RB: Ferreira Ngakia CB: Porteous, Sierralta, Cathcart LB: Morris CDM: CM: Kone, TDB CAM: Asprilla ST: Adeyemo Obviously this won’t happen because we’re going to be stuck with crap like Bayo and Manaj. However, sell Pedro for £40mil, Louza we could probably get £8-10mil for. Sign some young highly rated players on the cheap (like Manga did constantly at Frankfurt), bring some loans in, and raise up some of the academy boys. Spend the next couple of years in the championship and build a TEAM, not just a squad.
His contribution and our growing financial desperation. When we sell him the funds will be needed to pay off debt. The lower the fee drops, the higher the ongoing debt will be that will need to be covered by the sale of Pedro. The sale of Sarr will not create a magical pile of funds available to rebuild the squad as some are suggesting. The only other way to be able to repay debt will be to gain promotion which is now rated at about 10% likelihood per the bookies, or significant new investment which would mean the Pozzos selling a % of the club at its’ lowest value for years.
Sarr is not helping the team at the moment so sell him, pay off some debt and use a few pennies from it to bring in a player who will contribute. We could pick up a player for 250k that would work harder and pose more of a threat at the moment. They'd probably even contest headers which would be nice.
And fall over less meaning we might get the decisions people claim we don’t get . Anyway agree he probably won’t go now or that much of any fee we could get would be invested back in the team .
Hilarious how people are defending this joker! Strolls around the pitch as our highest earner without a care in the world! Zero effort and zero respect for those travelling up and down the country, that frankly deserve a hell of a lot more! As Watford fans we are use to being crap or mediocre, but what we expect is 100% commitment. This guy doesn’t give that and hasn’t for a long time. Deserves the abuse.
It's time for all parties that he left. He seems an introverted man,we can hardly call him a lad anymore. A bad mistake to purchase him as almost all agree. He's certainly a talent but we've seen it so fleetingly that one wonders whether he'll improve. Good luck to him.
Last promotion season - basically was the difference. Probably thought he’d get a move on the back of that or certainly last summer .
Bit of a stretch this innit? I’d hardly say a few randoms ranting on an internet forum immediately after a defeat stacks up against a national bullying campaign run by the tabloid media.
And spending all day and night outside the family home threatening relatives. Just because Gary Lineker had a strop.
I’m not saying it stacks up - I’m saying that we were horrified at the language used against GT. so in that sense, I find it disappointing when I see posts saying Sarr deserves ‘abuse’ and people saying they despise or hate him. Language IMO is important. Heavy criticism to me is fine - but if it tips over that fine line into abuse, I don’t think it is okay. Say you ‘hate having to watch him every week playing this way’, not that you hate him full stop. People are free to say or act how they want - but I have to question anyone who says they ‘hate’ someone they don’t know, because they don’t run around enough for the football team they support. That’s the point I’m making and I’d be surprised if anyone genuinely disagrees with that.
The more Sarr angers people the more I love him. He single handedly won us promotion last time and was POTS. If he can't be arsed to do it again, who can blame him? He's wasting his career at this club. I still find it mad to want him to leave this window unless we have a quality replacement lined up.
I agree but the market already has its perception of him and a few quiet games in the Champo that nobody watched probably don't affect it too much. He had a solid World Cup and that's what most will remember. He is also our highest goal contributor this season lets not forget.
The offers haven't exactly been flooding in this month. Now we're reduced to trying to drum up interest ourselves by letting everyone know what we'd take for him.
What I will say about Sarr is that previously he was making runs that weren't spotted or the pass to him was woeful, now he's not even making runs imo. He has one threat his pace and for the love of me can't understand why he doesn't use it. Roast the player and deliver it's as simple as that.
I think Sarr has always been more suited to playing in the PL for a lesser side than a more dominant side in the Championship. Look at the kind of attacking players who excel on this league, it’s a lot more Buendia types who are excellent technically than pace merchants who can strike better sides on the counter. I think if he moves on to Villa/Everton/Palace for £20m or so everyone will be happy, including his new club.
I agree, but the difficulty I foresee is the hurt to Pozzo's pride of selling at a great loss. A wise owner might say "I c**ked up that purchase - let's accept a lower price, given our financial difficulties and his lack of regular contribution on the field." But....
Really? I doubt that is a factor at play and even if it is, I’m sure he’d rather sell at a medium loss than lose for free
