Yep. You only have to stay till the end of a game and see the few power clappers or see the comments on Twitter to see we have some really really odd people in our fanbase.
Well they say religion is a cult, and I know some don’t like the Cog term, but it really is extremely apt for some of our fans. They genuinely support a man they don’t know and have never met over their own football club.
Yep. The COG term enrages some because it is so absolutely apt. Most on here seem to have become enlightened, but Twitter is still full of them.
I don’t mind positivity…but the blind faith shown on that happy clappy enjooooythegame fb site is nauseating. “This season has been awful, with a couple of exceptions, but the reactions of some of our fans has been the most frustrating thing for me ♀️“ - this is typical. Let’s not blame the owners, CEO, players for this car crash….oh no let’s blame the fans that pay the money. Good god
Likewise theres more than a few vocal bedwetters on this forum who also get upset at being labeled as such. Twitter is terrible beyond belief though.
The commentator on the stream I was watching claimed that this was the first time ever a team has beaten the same opponent 15 times in a row. Another record!
There is just a handful of our players really trying now. Dennis of course is just playing for himself and Sarr was awful today, but with about 20 minutes to go the commentator mentioned the name Josh King and I had genuinely forgotten he was on the pitch.
Ian Dennis on 5 Live said the same thing as the game kicked off too. Top flight record apparently... another one.
I literally made my profile picture a bed being wetted. Anyone who's not a BW at this point is delusional.
She's a born winner. That alone means she would show up our shower, despite being close to her 80s and having probably never kicked a ball in her life.
Every post match post he makes is exactly the same regardless of if we win Never actually realized thats what your profile picture was supposed to be, guess I've never really looked so atleast I've learnt something new today
Going by more than one thread this season and how defensive posters got about it, I would suggest most of them
Haha just realised this is that Mike Smart Twitter guy. Wouldn’t expect anything less. Poster boy for those who can’t bring themselves to ever criticise Pozzo. Will be the person who will tell us to be thankful we aren’t Bury when the administrators turn up. Bloke is an oddball.
I did enjoy the way pregame parts of the media tried to build up the suspense & excitement for this game and its implications on the title race. As if our lot would honestly turn up.
As you’re on a roll… Supermarket apples can be up to a year old. They’re usually picked between August and November, covered in wax, hot-air dried, and sent into cold storage. After six to twelve months, they finally land on your grocery store shelves.
On the subject of who cares any more, I certainly do. There’s already too much in life to feel apathetic about, without adding the football team I support to that list. But I admit the football is doing its best to achieve this. Thoroughly depressing. After Ranieri, at a time when we were crying out for some positivity and vigour with our next appointment, instead Duxbury and co decided instead to tempt our current Head Coach out of retirement. With that one move all remaining hope was sucked out of our sorry season, and since then it’s been nothing but negativity. A dour and prickly man several years past his sell-by date, who has uniquely managed to make us even worse than before he arrived. Worse than most people even imagined Xisco would be. He’s even managed to make so many on here apathetic to the team and his playing style, which considering how many good people post here so eloquently, so passionately and so regularly is actually quite some feat. But of course listening to the great man post match tonight, it’s not his fault. He only coaches them all week. The results have nothing to do with him. Useless tosser, clever enough to take advantage of our awful decision makers willingness to throw our money at him.
The reason we stop caring is self preservation. There's no point to it. We cared when we ignored the defence to only sign Dawson. We cared when we extended a crippled Janmaat's contract. We cared when we were in danger of relegation, so signed Pussetto to hand our sister club £6m of pointless cash. We cared when we put half the squad up for sale on relegation. We had to stop eventually because this club is being absolutely run into the ground by negligent owners who treat it as a tertiary concern behind their failed international player wheeling and dealing model and their primary, Italian club. Until we get owners who care, why on earth should we? It's madness.
The only time I thought we wouldn’t get relegated was that five game spell under Ranieri, he made us look the best we’ve looked all season by quite some margin, unfortunately it was only for a small period of time.
I’m not saying you’re wrong not to care. I was just saying I still want to. I’d never tell others what to do. Even I’m finding it hard though, as it’s one shocking decision after another. It’s quite some feat of incompetence by our owners to alienate so many good people like yourself and others on here, messing up a decent opportunity so badly that people no longer appear to care.
