Foster needed to get Saka's shirt. Not one but two aimless hoofs to Dumbsdale (I'm a Blade through and through until you throw me some shekels). Just play it in there and anything can happen.

Etebo for Cleverley would have been perfect.

The bald fraud's son was out of his technical area as well. Nothing said by the Pawson prat. Probably gets free tickets to see the Woolwich winkers at their hole of a stadium.

As usual - quite often happens.

Wasted time making a sub too.

This has to be, possibly one of the worst Watford teams I remember in my time as a fan. Every single game - we continue to make basic schoolboy errors you would not see at Sunday League level. Yes we scored after 17 seconds but it was offside. Then Cathcart more or less rolls out the red carpet for them to open the scoring. I mean seriously? He MOVED OUT OF THE WAY so he could score. It was so, so easy. It's stunning how we have still got these players in a PL side. Not their fault of course, it's our awful recruitment team.

But, quality goal from Cucho to level it up. What a goal that was, better than his goal on his debut against Villa. I thought we might hold that until HT, before Cleverley decides to dither on the ball after Sossoko passes it to another Arsenal player before hand. Just get rid of it Tom! Out into touch, into Occupation Road anything! But no, terrible decision making an that's 1-2 and again we are chasing shadows. A few people in the SB were taking bets of how long it would take Arsenal to get a third goal. Didn't take too long did it? Again. awful defending however Foster possibly could of at least tried to dive to keep it out. That was that as far a the game was concerned, and although Sossoko did score another it was a mere consolation as Arsenal fully deserved the win.

I am not sure, but I think that is now a club record of EIGHT consecutive home losses. We love breaking records, all for the wrong reasons don't we? We played overall, better than the two previous games, and you could maybe say on another day that Dennis goal stands and we draw. But, we got what we deserved due to again, such basic errors. These are going to relegate us, and we have another really tough game now in midweek against Wolves. Honestly, I cannot see us getting anything there. Our only silver lining to come of today is if Spuds beat Everton tomorrow, and the gap to 17th remains three points for another few days.

We were poor today, but to be fair didn't seem to miss Sarr all that much. Pedro did aright - one of his better games and Cucho was MotM personally. But we will continue to struggle when we make the basic of errors game in game out. Today was always going to be a "free hit" to some, but we could of got something. How many times have we said this? Wolves is must not lose now, and we really must target three points at Southampton (despite their superb form being ended by Villa). It's gone now, no more Arsenal at least, but another point slips away due to the same basic mistakes.

Not one word of what @3000 said was ‘toxic’.
For someone who freely admitted they are 60+ on the shoutbox, it seems you’ve still got a fair bit of growing up to do yourself.

Agreed. I didn't mean to sound like they only try hard, I too believe they have quality, but I understand how it could sound like that.
I too would like to see that front 3, and I would even like to see Dennis-Cucho-Sarr with Pedro as a 10 against some teams. But that would obviously never happen with Hodgson.

Also why didn't Kalu get minutes in previous games, at least he's faster than Sema.

Another bad performance to me. Effort levels were there but Midfield non existent, attack isolated but doing the best they can through individual quality. If Arsenal wanted to, they could have killed the game off through the numerous of chances they decided to try and walk the ball in the net. It’s easy to play when you’re 3-1 down, but the Louza sub completely killed us. Got it back to 3-2 and we did sweet FA after that (albeit good to see Kalu is a real person) — if we want any chance of survival, we have to sack Hodgson. Because a competent head coach gets something out of the game today

Sema is a prize asset. He's only going to improve after a shaky start settling into the English style of football. It takes some players a long while to adapt so we have to be patient with Ken. Which is why I agree with doofus Duxbury about his super duper extended contract. Lessons have been learnt.

Haha, was really shocked to see Kalu come on when Sema is fit and on the bench. That's one of the positives I took from the game. Will wait till the last game of the season when Roy will realize Etebo should be playing over Cleverley and Kucko.

Exactly. WD18 even stopped bothering with the interviewing fans thing outside the ground when they realised nobody watched. It’s our fanbase. It’s a strange one. Apathy at all times.

Apparently if you add the ages of the three arsenal scorers today, they add up to 10 years less than our Manager!

If we're lucky we may manage to get a loan fee for Sema next season. Pray and close your eyes. The man has the same technical ability as Gray.

Didn’t actually think we were that bad in many aspects and thought we were worth a point to be honest. But sadly the aspects we were bad at, cost us the game….

Arsenal have been very good recently and have been clinical. Yet we gifted the ball to them time and again and they profited. Would also help if we had a GK who dived for shots that are within his reach too. Also doesn’t help when you get 5 mins injury time to chase an equaliser and he boots it straight to Ramsdale TWICE in quick succession.

Cathcart and Cleverley going down the Deeney route - had they left when the time was right, they’d rightfully be given the respect their time at the club deserves. But they have outstayed their welcome, enabled by the owner and successive coaches (god knows why) and now their legacy will always be tinged with disappointment at how it’s ending.

Interesting that the fans booed Hodgson’s sub - so they can do it. Maybe they can try and show that same energy towards the owner sometime soon? Or the rest of the players?

A laughably horrible run of home form…
A laughable run of games without a clean sheet…
Conceded in 19 consecutive PL home games…another record.

Encapsulated by the cycling GK kicking the first 2 'launches towards the box' straight into Ramsdale's arms.

The Louza sub completely killed the second half, I haven't heard a reaction like that to a substitution in a long time.

Roy made no attempt to get back into the game, I just don't know what he's expecting to happen with this approach. We're still losing games and he's killed us going forward. I'm sure people will say he's made us better defensively but even I could put everyone behind the ball and we'd look better defensively. We've still conceded 10 goals in 7 games under Hodgson and only scored 4.

With events elsewhere in Europe, I admit I cannot find myself feeling angry or even sad about yet another football loss.

Today just continues the narrative of frustration. Every time there’s a slight hint of our fortunes upturning, we seem to follow it with defeat. Only once all season have we followed up a win or draw with another point. This has been the season that just won’t get properly started. No little runs of form, just the occasional good result sandwiched in between relentless defeats.

We score twice in a match for the first time since the snow was falling in mid winter, but of course we have to have a mare at the back to make it worthless, as happened the last time we scored twice too.

Wolves have lost their last two matches without scoring. We have a nasty habit of playing sides back into form, as indeed we did in the return fixture back in August. Defeat there and I’m giving up. You can part excuse today as we were playing a top four side, but Thursday there can be no excuse. Let’s see what this lot have left.

Unfortunately, this time he had actually blown the whistle before the ball went out of play, so a drop-ball was the correct decision. Not sure I'm so comfortable with his decision to totally ignore White's arm into Cucho's face. Even Alan 'oooh, I used to play for Ar5enal, you know' Smith commented his arm was a 'little higher than it needed to be', quickly modifying it with 'but he couldn't know he was there & he's not really been hurt all that much.' No way could White have known anyone was there, what with the pounding of booted feet right behind him and all.

Absolutely agree. Arsenal defence looked all at sea on numerous occasions especially second half. "Looks like Arsenal have taken the sting out of this one and to be honest they've defended this comfortably in the second half", or some such, said the unbiased and pitiful former Gunners number 9 towards the end. Fool who failed to take off his Gunners specs throughout.

If we didn't have such a soft midfield (how on earth did Cleverley stay on until 89 mins?) we could have won that as the A*** were keen to give us chances. As another post said, the inability of our midfield to close the gap with our defence when the ball is lost allows the opposition to have so many scoring options from cutbacks. Foster left watching them fly past him, Saka, Martinelli and Odegaard certainly obliged.

We created 4 memorable goals today, 2 for us and 2 for them. Well done Tom C - confidence of a 20 year old allied to the legs and brain of a 70 year old sadly - and what on earth was that Louza pass straight out of play about to gift them their third? That said, Louza was generally a plus today although his shooting has pinpoint accuracy but not in a good way. Last week against Man U and today's free kick were just opportunities for De Gea and Ramsdale to step forward and collect what were essentially underhit back passes. Do we practice free kicks and does Roy and Ray watch who takes them?

We are resembling a more skilful Norwich, hustle, bustle, unlucky, big mistakes and today at least a narrow defeat that might have been a win. Forever chasing a game that we have allowed to get away from us. But in truth our season in a nutshell. When playing well we do something stupid. We certainly obliged today when Arsenal were there for the taking. Two words cover today's effort: naive, frustrating. AAARRGGHH!

One of the worst players today, should have keep on following Saka and Arsenal won't have scored that second goal. That second goal killed the game. After we equalized Arsenal were looking ordinary and were cautious about committing players forward because they learned from our equalizer that both Dennis and Cucho can hurt them on the counter. Cleverley should have clear the ball earlier if he has no one to pass the ball to, and Louza needs been reminded he is the one playing in the defensive midfield position so he normally should have kept on marking Saka and that goal won't have happened.

I mean he only played 5 minutes for some strange Hodgson reason, but he looked lively. Why does he not get a sniff?

This thread was about Watfords next fixture. What has some bell end coming along saying hes gone to support another team and what a lovely time hes had got to do with it? Sounds like he just wanted a pat on the back

    I'm nowhere near 60
