With Lloyd, leaving a man free at the far post is a more regular, consistent issue. In his 10th year at the club I don't think its something that's going to be resolved any time soon. Like I said, Lloyd's been a great servant to this club, and he's than good enough to supplement the squad as back up, but whilst ****inson equally suffers his own defensive issues, he offers far more going forward. Hogg has been superb every game until yesterday, and i'm sure will be on Tuesday night, there are no specific fundamental faults in his game, just was sloppy yesterday.
Wasn't at the game yesterday so can't comment on that but I don't think Doyley necessarily needs to be dropped. This season he hasn't really made any glaring errors on a consistent basis and has instead looked pretty solid and assured consistently. If he did plays as badly as Kane said he played yesterday for the next few games then that's a different story but in my opinion the likes of Hogg don't deserve any sort of preferential treatment whenever they have an off day, especially when Doyley seems to be being judged on past errors rather than how he has been playing this season.
Was always going to be a difficult game, good point, anything away from home is a plus. Glad to see Deeney score again!
That was a great goal from Deeney too. From what I've seen of him previously, he seems to be technically poor in front of goal, but the last two goals he has scored have been very good finishes.
Coventry are down, other than statistically - and the two teams above them need to switch from relegation form to play off form for their remaining games. If we are on 40 points by next Saturday night we can afford various experiments, and there is no need to bring in any more loanees.
If were going to give a player stick, get his name right theres Hodson and Hogg there both two good young players.
Bless. Let's go back to ****inson shall we, he's a much better defender and never makes mistakes... :sign15:
I spent a few minutes browsing one of the Forest Forums threads regarding yesterday's match. The most charitable comment about our club was that we are "divisional lightweights", these guys obviously didn't spend long enough in League One last time round to rid them of their "big club" arrogance (European Cups, etc. etc.) Actually, surviving as lightweights in this division is quite a compliment, at least we are not paying inflated salaries to a bunch of "has beens". They probably talk about Peterbororough in the same way, but they would swap places with either of us at the moment.... I haven't got time to research it, but our record over the last 24 seasons must be the most consistent of any club in this division - 20 seasons at Championship level, 2 above, 2 below. Barnsley's might be similar, but I guess in the eyes of Forest fans, they are probably lightweights too.
Our next saviour is Big Chris. 1-1 against Leicester, 94th minute. Dyche gambles and throws Chris on. Murray whips a cross in, Big Chris leaps like a salmon and powers a header into the face of a kid in the crowd 5 yards wide of the goal. The time wasted retrieving the ball and restarting play secures us a point.
This wont happen for two reasons. Watford never score late goals at the Vic, only conceded them, and Iwelumo is crap. Not even JK Rowling would write such extreme fiction.
What was misunderstood? Iwelumo would never get as close as 5 yards to the goal, so it is total fiction. And everyone knows JK Rowling wrote Gary Porter, so don't make out I'm stupid.
Disappointing performance but we did very well to get out of there with a point on Saturday. Hodson got ripped apart first half by McLeary, Nosworthy was continually out-muscled by Miller and the referee seemed to take the wind out of our sails whenever we threatened to grab hold of the game. How we managed to accumulate 4 bookings is beyond me, Doyley and Hogg's were an absolute joke, no consistancy whatsoever from the referee all game. Having said that his decision to pull it back for a free kick in the run up to Deeney's goal was a stroke of genius. Nosworthy was much better second half, and for some reason Cotterill decided to switch his wingers round at half time which helped out Hodson enormously. Have to say Iwelumo played very well when he came on, Mariappa was as solid as ever and Eustace impressed again. We've played a lot better and lost games this season so all in all very happy with a point.
One was probably around 25ish, as for the other, old boy in the flat cap and the glasses throwing wild swings, he had to be in his fifties!
