Loach, Hodson, Mariappa, Nosworthy, Doyley; Murray, Eustace, Hogg, Kacaniklic; Deeney, Garner. Subs: Bond, ****inson, Yeates, Buaben, Iwelumo.
Happy with a point. If we played that badly against forest any other season, we would of been trounced.
With the build up to the game I'm happy with a point and even more so as it doesn't sound like we played brilliantly.
A point is fine considering how we played ... mid table mediocrity will do fine this season Mr Dyche.
Different ways of looking at today's result. If the limit of our ambition is just to stay up, it's a good point well gained as it was important not to lose to the team just below the drop. If, however, you'd like to see our club aim a bit higher in life, it was probably a slightly disappointing result, considering Forest's woeful run of late.
The forest squad need shooting if it takes the owner to die to motivate them. I'd have grabbed a point with both hands considering the circumstances so not unhappy with it.
Happy with a point and keeps a 12 point gap between us both..Just as I predicted 1-1 in the prediction league..Craig Ramage co-coms today made me laugh saying he can not comment on Diving because he would be a hypocrite, made me chuckle.
A point away from home, against a team with an emotional and passionate crowd behind them, is a satisfying result for me. Especially as we didn't play particularly well, by all accounts.
Good result today especially coming from behind. Going one up should have boosted them more than usual under the circumstances. For us to keep our heads and play sensibly - with a little luck it seems - and win a point it a good result.
Maybe had that extra motivation to try and win after their tragic news last weekend. Good to keep the gap at 12 and other teams below us dropped points. Leciester are a funny team..never sure which one will turn up.
Happy with a point as we didn't play very well. I'd rather us play badly and get a point than play well and get a point. Good to see Deeney get on the score sheet. Roll on Leicester.
Yep, great result today considering they REALLY needed the win and the circumstances around their owner passing away last weekend. Would definitely have taken that before today. Pleased for Deeney. Now on to Leicester. No reason why we can't beat them.
A decent point considering how we played. If they had a striker they'd have buried us as we constantly let crosses come into the box. Loach was a little unlucky with their goal as the ball move hugely. As soon as he went right the ball went left. McCleary is a good player though and one that would certainly solve our left side problem.
Good point really. Helps keep us nice and clear of the relegation zone and another home game gone for Forest.
Good well earned point. In truth we were quite poor today, but that may as much of been be down to the improvement in Forest than their recent form suggests. 7 points out of 9 from 3 tricky games is superb, Forest were always going to be up for it today - and we were shockingly poor in the first half, Hodson was terrible, Nosworthy having his worst game in a Watford shirt, even Mapps was getting caught out - could have easily been 2 or 3 down. We scored from a free kick that was given when we actually wanted to keep the advantage, poor refereeing that bizarrely turned out in our favour, but nevertheless the goal, which was really out of nothing, couldn't happened at a more important time - good delivery from Murray and good header from Deeney. Second half we were much improved, the 3 players highlighted before all performing tremendously better, however Doyley had perhaps one of the worst defensive performances I have ever seen from a player in a Watford shirt - he consistently ****ed up every single pass he attempted, then compounded this by constantly leaving Gunter totally free at the far post - who on another day could have scored 5, ****inson needs to be back in the team. Forest had a player way too good for this division in Guerdiora, and on paper a far superior team to ours, with players like Mcgugan and Majewski not even making the squad, a very good point given the circumstances, and could had even nicked it at the end had Eustaces shot been about 5cm lower. We actually, despite giving them a ridiculous amount of goalscoring opportunities, played some decent stuff in the second half - and looked much better when Iwelumo came on, gave the best, if only brief, performance I have seen from him in a Watford shirt - won everything and made a lot for others, looked quicker too. Murray and Deeney equally gave good performances today. Deeney is improving game by game into a very good player for us. Also, the referee was one of the worst I have ever seen at this level, every tackle was a foul, and every foul a yellow - he was totally moronic.
Said in the shout box Doyley must be leaving him at the back post time and again, if he can sort that out he is a very good defender.
Yes I did notice most of their chances fell to one player and wondered where Doyley was... Mind you ****inson has the same sort of problem in letting peiople past him. Guerdiora is from Wolves I think...maybe like Kightly they want him to get 1st team football and then go back and play in the Wolves side?
I was at the game, Hodson didnt have one of his better games but considering his past 5 or 6 games hes been one of our best players, considering his age not many players keep the level of consistency he has shown over the past 3 months. Doyley didnt have the terrible game your making out either. No one was outstanding Deeney was good as was Hogg and Eustace. If we can nick points when were not at our best thats all that counts.
Totally agreed, was like he was on commission. I felt the subs we made put pay to any attacking hopes, but probably helped us to grind out the point. Doyley needs to have pop at goal when he cuts inside and breaks into the box.. he may even get himself another goal. I found the last 15 mins of the game so frustrating as it was clear we had decided the point was good enough.
Certainly wasn't kids! Rumour was the aggro was sparked by the goal Forest scored. Someone blamed Loach, who maybe could have done better, but not really a lot he could have done the way the ball swerved, and then it all got a bit uneccessary.... nobody under 25 involved!!!
Doyley was playing left back, their right midfielder had free shots/headers at the far post genuinely on about 5/6 occasions, purely due to Lloyd being so positionally poor when dealing with crosses - how can you say he didn't have a bad game? This forgetting that every defensive header he attempted went in the worst possible place it could have at the time. I like Lloyd, and he's been good recently, but he was dreadful yesterday. Also, as much as I love Hogg, and think he's our best player by a mile, he had a terrible game yesterday, constantly misplacing passes and losing the ball - I suppose everyone has to have a bad game once in a while. Did you post "I was at the game" to imply that my view was blinded by not being there? I was at the game, clearly.
Lloyd had a bad game - needs to be dropped. Hogg had a bad game - everyone has a bad game once in a while. Hmm....
Doyley's been having regular bad games for the last few years, Hogg's been one of if not our best player for the majority of this season. So erm, yeah, there's a difference in what a poor performance from each should result in.
