Which goal was he at fault last Saturday then? ??? All goalies will make some mistakes at point in a season, the top quality ones we cannot afford less so than others, but nobody is perfect.
Heard it all before. Its been said after all of his numerous mistakes. I've never seen a player so immune to criticism. It appears that he is allowed to make all the mistakes he likes because everyone is so far up his ar5e they can pull the sweetcorn out his sh!t. Get rid, buy a proper keeper. We picked Alec up for 40k for christ's sake, and he is at least 40,000 times better than Loach will ever be. A keeper able to move three feet off his line to clear a cross, or a keeper able to save at his near post. Both of these qualities are apparently not necessary for a Watford keeper.
I see you have a picture of Lee in that link...he's not your mate is he? I've seen Loach come off his line a few of times (sometimes when he shouldn't e.g. Cardiff) but at 21 he is hardly going to be perfect and totally sure of himself when there is such a weak back 4 infront of him (lack of communication etc) Apart from a ood goal or two last season don't remember him being beaten at the near post that much in recent times (a few bigger names have been caught out that way) Alec (remember a couple he let in at the near post during the Prem season - one against West Ham..) was much more experienced and proven at the top level with our friends down the road for example...it was a bargin buy indeed.
Hodson didnt deserve a booking for that challenge, just explain how Moore goes through the back of Hodson 5 mins later clearly hurting him and nothing is even said to Moore. I was sitting with some WBA Albion fans that even laughed at that one.
Did we forget the Moore red card challenge on our young right back that would of changed the whole course of the game.If your going to give your views do it properley not just the bits that suit you.
Moore's challenge was stupid, but neither malicious or dangerous, so it wasn't a "red card" challenge. As I've said on this thread already I think he may've got away with a second yellow because Hodson had just previously been given a final warning instead of his second yellow. Anyway, what did you see that makes you so sure that a red card would've changed the whole course of the game?
You are taking the pi$$...surely?!!?! If that was in a World Cup match this summer, he'd have been shown a straight red!! It was CLEARLY a second booking, at the very least! It was dangerous, he went straight through the back of Hodson (at speed and force), and got nowhere near the ball! It's a clear as day yellow card, and probably even a straight red! It would have changed the course of the match, because A, he wouldn't have been on the pitch to score the third goal (the goal that killed us off just after HT), and B, we'd have had momentum on our side. The way we were passing the ball at the time, we would have cut them to pieces with the extra man in midfield! Personally, I think your above post is comical!
Loach isn't good enouogh. He is static, his positioning is **** poor and gets beaten to easily from distance. Lee is a good back up but as I said at the start of the season we should sell Loach and replace him with a statute it would be just as effective. Our defence playes too deep because of his lack of positioning ability and the fact he couldn't collect glasses on a friday in my local. Why does he play for England U21's - well his English and U21 ! Loach will end up costing us at least 15 goals this season and 20 points Neither are good enough for the championship.
Thank God there is somebody else on this bloody forum with half a brain. The bold is the cold hard facts of us having one of the worst keepers we have ever had playing week in week out. I don't care if he is good in 10 years time. He is utter w@nk now.
You could double that with Coco between the sticks, if loach is a statue, coco has been frozen in ice for 20,000 years
So in other words your saying we need an experience goalie who is consistent behind our inexperience defence to ensure good communication etc which sounds fair enough.
Unfortunately capability comes with experience for a goalkeeper. Your every decision is scrutinised unlike a CF who if he picks the wrong run just turns around and jogs back onside. Loach has got an abundance of ability but with about 50 games under his belt he is not going to make the right decisions all the time and his positioning is not as bad as he doubters would have you believe. As for not coming for crosses I can't remember us having a keeper that is good at that in the last 5 years - maybe this is St Alec's coaching? Lee - No good Foster - Probably the best but still got it wrong a lot of the time. Poom - No good, probably down to lack of matches granted Loach - No good Chamberlain - I'll put him in but he barely got a game by this point.
At the risk of a whoosh I will agree, although he did drop some absolute clangers...remember the one he palmed into the net at the Vicarage Road end.
The phrase "he did drop some absolute clangers" reveals why any comparisons between goalies such as Lee and Loach is ridiculous and redundant imho I reckon MOST League Two/One and Championship goalkeepers make a similar number of errors (although not all the same kind of error of course) Even the keeper who was (allegedly) England's number one for years (James) was also criticised by many fans and journos I think we should give Lee a break from the criticism personally I would only criticise him for one thing: Lack of Ambition
True. Dr. Cap's expansion has been pedestrian. I'd have thought they'd have 70 branches and a few major megastores by now.
Even worse when he mis-timed a bounce at West Brom and the ball bounced over his head leaving Lee Hughes to jog passed him and nod it in to an empty net.
Again, I feel a point is being missed here. If we have a top quality player, in any position, they'll be snapped up by a Premiership club, including the keeper. What we need is a very good Championship quality keeper that makes enough small mistakes to be left alone by the Prem clubs, yet is still at a good enough and consistent level for this league. We have 2 of them. I'm more than happy with Loach and lee as 1 & 2.
Well said that man Lee's lack of ambition and his seeming contentedness (?) to remain at Watford despite his very limited chances of playing are to our advantage. RL surely is losing and not gaining by this arrangement but that is HIS problem. I am sure that the Russos aren't overpaying him for his services so on balance I would rather have him here as an experienced, inexpensive back up to Loach than not at all
