I'll be honest, as crap as they have both been this far, Manaj looks like a grafter who will get into goalscoring positions.
This will be a big indicator about how we've settled into this League with various line-up changes and general disaffection with the predominantly same squad of failures. As they are our nearest rivals, please can we just thrash them until all that's left is a lifeless corpse of a former boutique West London club. Do they still play Terry Vegetables' mind-numbing offside trap? The Vicarage Road Slope will hopefully be their Waterloo.
Not a million miles from where we want to be. Hause for Kaba, Davis for Manaj, Louza for Kayembe. Sema and Asprilla rotating. I like it Rob.
I make it a 3-4-3 with JP on the left, Gaspar at RCB, Kamara RWB and Sema LWB. I don't really like midfield 2s as there's always the possibility that it leaves you exposed in the middle, but I trust Choudhury far more in a 2 than any of our other midfielders
Pretty happy with that lineup(unless it is Kamara rwb and Gaspar rcb) . Hopefully Manaj delivers finally.
I don't mind Asprilla on the bench. Gives him a bit of a rest and gives Watford a potential game changer to bring on.
I wonder why Cathcart has been dropped, I'd have thought he'd be our best option on the left side of the back 3 until Hause comes in, but it looks to me like Kabasele will be playing there? Only thing I can think of is that he's better in the air than Cathcart
Choudhury could be a bit like Doucoure was, in that his energy means we can get away with playing 2 in the middle?
Manaj looks like the kind to drop deep rather than poach for goals tbf, although if we're playing in a midfield 2 perhaps that's the thinking?
The biggest thing is Hause being on the bench meaning he's closer to playing than suggested. We could be coming to the last days of Cathcart and Kabasele terrorising us.
I don't really like it neither, but Edwards did say as long as Sarr stays we'll be playing with wingers, and until we get a flying full-back/wing-back, we'll be seeing Kamara there as he's got far more legs than Gaspar
Some miraculous recoveries and a strong team on paper (surely 4-2-3-1?). Manaj lucky to keep his place over another CM. Looking forward to seeing how it pans out.
I can gaurentee one of the subs will be Manaj > Bayo. I don't mind that if we are winning about 2-0ish but it does seem Manaj out of the two has the ambition of a prime Gray to want to get into positions.
Cathcart has been our weakest link defensively for a while. Both our goals conceded in the league this season came from balls in behind him. We might also be playing a back 4.
So something like this then? Bachmann Kamara Sierralta Kabasele Gaspar Kayembe Choudhury Sema JP Sarr Manaj
Literally came on here to say the same thing. With the squad we have 4231/433 is the way to go. Unless we sign a RWB there is no point in playing 3 at the back. Bachmann Gaspar Sierralta Hause Kamara Choudhury Louza Sarr Asprilla Pedro Davis Would be my preference however; Bachmann Gaspar Sierralta Hause Kamara Choudhury Louza Sarr Pedro Sema Davis Is still strong. Looking at that, while we’ve all been crying out for a RWB, RCB, CM and ST, LW looks our weakest position now.
Yes, Very Untenables' comment that they lost 0-4 'due to the slope' was hilarious as, IIRC, it was 2-0 in each half? And his comments about our style being 'detrimental' to English football was thrown into sharp focus as QPHa managed to get the ball to a forward on our penalty spot, only to then 'recycle' the ball back to the edge of their own box via 10 ever-less threatening passes.
Preferably Gaspar down the right Kamara should be very fresh down the left. Yaser deserves a rest. Looks balanced and potent.
I like it, strikes a nice balance and if Manaj can't look threatening in this lineup today then I think he warrants criticism. Keinan Davis is going to play like 10 times for us isn't he? How do you go from fit enough for a 5-minute cameo to not fit enough to make the bench 3 games in a row? Very strange situation.
Rob admitted it was a mistake to put him in the squad again Brum, but regardless of that, he's been ill since then
