The favourite doesn't always win. We weren't always favourites to go down. I think we were predicted to finish 9th in a season where we were relegated..
My friends horse came 2nd yesterday in her first race. Prior to that it was down to race 4 times, but for various reasons it never made the starting gate. We all thought it would end up on a plate next to some fries. A surprise can happen.
Ps: There is a term used to describe a punter in the UK who just backs the favourites. I can't remember it right now. Anyone know?

Despite the loss it was more entertaining than our wins this season.

I think Edwards is a bit clueless tbh.

There's a fair bit of contention online from Watford fans' who think the FA should look into why a Lootown supporting referee was allowed to officiate our game. I do see why, I mean would they allow a known Liverpool fan referee the Merseyside Derby?

In fairness, no matter how drab the draws and defeats were last season, the Villa, United and Everton wins were very exciting!

It's a tough one to rationalise. If he had the players for the formation he wants then yes he's clueless. Having to rely on Gasper to get up and down the pitch when I think he'd struggle to get up and down stairs, Bayo to come on and influence a game and one leg Kayembe. I'm not sure yet on the full blame if he has his hands tied by Mogi signings.

Kabasele as Captain though. Never again.

No they wouldn’t because the team he supports is playing. Strouds team wasn’t but he still shouldn’t be given that game. If I was to ref a scum game they wouldn’t get one decision.

What was encouraging to see was that despite our offensively poor midfield, we still created a fair few chances in the game. Unfortunately we also conceded a similar amount.

I don't understand the boos yesterday, it was a sloppy performance but not a terrible one.

Ha, yes, it's supposed to be read left to right, and that is Hassane on the left side just to clear up any doubt!

It would be good to have Andrew French or our secret fan committee ask Pozzo or Duxbury to come clean about our real financial situation after the transfer window has closed.
It is fairly obvious that we do not have any money.
All the players we should have been in for have gone to other clubs - why?
We have just borrowed £15m from Pozzo Snr.
We are only going for loan deals.
Is it good financial management or are we on the edge of the cliff?
I find it hard to believe anything Duxbury speaks about regarding financial issues.
I understand that French had access to ask Duxbury questions and that Duxbury is unhappy that fans are not falling in line with his financial answers.
I think Duxbury would come back with a handful of beans if you sent him to the shops.

Yes I know what you intended, but it's incorrect. You can't read it from left to right when you put the goalie at the top.

    I didn't hear the 1881 singing "we're f*cking sh*t" so it can't have been that bad yesterday.

I'd agree with pretty much all this. I've defended Bayo more than Manaj but he was having a bright start and caused issues despite his lack of finishing. Asprilla I actually thought had a quieter game than usual even with his sparks of quality yesterday. Pedro was excellent and Sema should have had more than a goal when he wasted the cross turn shot following Sarr's fantastic solo run.

Speaking of Sarr, I thought he did quite well overall. The first half particularly, QPR were flooding his side with players to keep him quiet and allowed Sema to have a good game with the extra space. When they balanced their marking to pick up Sema more, it was no coincidence I thought Sarr had a brighter 2nd half.

We absolutely must recruit at bare minimum a RWB in the Laird mould (Who I thought played well yesterday for them) whilst Gaspar was rotten. Somebody said they're getting Rose vibes off him and I agree.

We don't look like a team that's folded now under Edwards (MK aside) which is positive. Never at any point did I think we were going through the motions or that we didn't care to try and get a result which was all too familiar last season where once we conceded you may as well leave. And that happened more than once.

It's football. We can analyse every minute and player to death but ultimately sometimes fine margins go for you and against you like Pedro's effort off the bar or the wrongly called offside goal. Today, it went against and West Brom will say the same when we drew against them. Had the role beens reversed we would be praising them for being so resilient and how clinical we were.

However, we should never have an official who's on the record for supporting Luton. Regardless of their decisions during the game it will always be under the lens of them being a direct rival's fan influencing our results and is wholly unacceptable. Rightly, a fan cannot referee their team. Equally, that must apply to a rival's team.

What a pity we got "Lard" last season and not Laird this.

JP wss generally good, but it was his poor cross, easily cut out, that led to QPR's winner. If he'd rolled the ball across a bit earlier, Asprilla was all ready to run onto it and would probably have scored.

Like I've said earlier in this thread, how much can you blame an attacker putting in a poor ball for a goal all the way up the other end?

Because they scored directly afterwards from the counterattack, with the Watford players positioned for our attack. I'm not saying he was the only one at fault, but a decent pass - well within his capabilities - and we wouldn't have conceded that goal.

Surely that's more on the defensive players then? Maybe Edwards for setting up too attacking? It's too much to demand a player not make a mistake going forward simply to avoid us conceding surely

Gaspar is a weird one . He was playing in his favoured RB position but looked way off the pace and positionally all over the shop .

I’m hoping it’s just a matter of adapting to Championship because it really should be a major step down in quality for him , and a player who is only 31 should still be good enough physically .

He might have nominally been in the RB position, but still being asked to do the job of a wing-back, something which I don't believe he ever did at Villarreal? Besides, although the Championship is a step down from La Liga, he didn't play regularly last season, and there's probably a reason for that

I wouldn't classify QPR as a rival in the same way Bournemouth aren't either. It's definitely a more heated atmosphere but historically neither of these sides are considered rivals. You wouldn't call it a derby. Luton though have been and are a proper derby and that does make a difference.
