Maybe, for the convenience of Spurs fans reading, you guys (just in this thread) should put some sentences between the "THIS_IS_SARCASM" "END_OF_SARCASM" tags, in order to facilitate comprehension to foreigners to this forum.
They're a mere flash in the pan. A nothing side. We'll do what we did to Swansea and West Ham and start their inevitable slide down the table with a convincing win whilst we march into the top 4. 7-0 to North London's biggest club. We're all going on a European tour.
They moan about the sarcasm being not funny and unoriginal... Their thread title is about Elton John, hahahahahahahahaha never heard that one before!!!!!!
I prefer to use the old-school HTML tags (SARCASM)Spurs are genuine contenders for winning the league this season. They really, really are.(/SARCASM) (with <> brackets though obviously which WFC Forums won't let me use!)
Do think fatigue is an issue, and our 'best XI' will therefore include some squad rotation. Gomes Nyom Cathcart Britos Ake Guedioura Behrami Capoue Jurado Deeney Ighalo
Spurs fans are deluded fools. They will never get into the top four and I predict their fans will be outraged by their performance. Watford to start cementing a top 4 spot by winning 4-1.
Yep, spot on. I've just had a quick look at their results this season, and they're in a totally false position - we're the first big side they'll have faced up to yet. Course, this won't stop them b!tching about how tired/poor their team were against us. Sunderland and Norwich fans were the same.
At least Liverpool had a nice day out at a proper stadium for their cup final. It's only fair we extend the same courtesy to Spurs.
WTF ... they think we're being sarcastic! What bit of 'we'll win 13-0 and take their 4th spot' don't they get?
I hope we clap their goalkeeper at half time and their team's efforts at the end the match, the same as we did against Liverpool. Showed our fan's class, and that's pretty rare in football nowadays.
If for no other reason than it would be truly hilarious, I'd love us to finish 3rd which would still be better than Spurs have managed in this time.
Taking the joking / sarcasm out, Spurs fans are still tools. We "could" finish top four, and/or above them. Advice for spurs fans reading this, seek first to understand then be understood. Otherwise don't be confused when this aggressive long ball, "new Pulis", kick the opposition style team get lucky again.
Spurs are a very good side, I actually fancy them for top two if they get one or two players in January. Lloris, Alderweireld, Vertonghen & Dier is a good as a spine that you will find in this country. Could easily see this being 0-0.
The spine runs through the middle I know. Maybe I should've said the core. Point still stands, chuck in Dembele, Eriksen and Kane and it's a good 'spine'
They're a good team with good players, better than Liverpool or Chelsea at the minute. Good defence and a goal difference of plus 17. Let's hope they don't respect us enough or we play exceptionally well.
I think this will be a tougher game than the Chelsea and Liverpool ones as Spurs are not in bad form, I would happily take a point here. I know it's not over until the fat lady sings etc etc... But For the first time I think the pressure is off us and we have less pressure for results and I am sure this is a positive thing going into games against the so called bigger sides.
Funnily enough I've always found Spurs fans to be a relatively sound bunch, but goodness me that forum is a bit precious isn't it? With regards to the game,I'm inclined to think a draw is the most likely result. Two teams who have been hard to break down, and also have 2 of the top 3 defences in the league. I think the fatigue aspect has been a bit overplayed here, both teams had games on Saturday so I honestly see it as a moot point. They have goals throughout the team, and this concerns me a bit but I can't see us conceding too many, the only time we conceded more than 2 was the Arsenal game and that honestly feels a long time ago now. I'll go for a 1-1 ,Deeney and Alli to score.
Maybe the 'Udinese B' will be about their level?
Spurs are a bit like The Pogues; you hear them on the radio a couple of times a year and remember they're a "thing" but ultimately wish they'd have something more interesting on.
We did both play Saturday, but they seemed to have an effortless win, whereas we had a workman like draw, therefore I would imagine we are more likely to be the more fatigued of the two teams. Hopefully I am wrong, but I think this is going to be an extra tough game for us, not only due to our possible fatigue, but because Spurs are probably the most in form team we have played of late. If we get anything from this game I will be delighted, but even if we don't, it won't be that big of a disaster as we have picked 4 points already from our so called difficult Christmas games. U 'Orrrrrrrrrrrrnnnnnnnnssssssssssss!!!
Spuds, spuds, spuds. What can you say about the Lillettes, eh? I don't particularly have anything against them. Not like Arsenhole. They're not objectionable like them. Celebrity fans include uttercock Richard Littlejohn, unfunny ubercock Paul Merton, complete sh:t of a Tory man with a head shaped like acock Iain Duncan Smith, tone deaf and tin-eared cockneycocks Chas and Dave and that bloke with the curly hair and specs off the sitcom 2.4 children. I remember going there in the 80s when we used to whup 'em on a regular basis and seeing all those rows of mirrored glass executive boxes running along the top of the stand opposite and thinking "I'm glad I don't follow a soulless corporatecock of a club like this...." Another memory of their arrogance is when we played them in some cup or other and Germancock Klinsman scored at the Vic end. There were two Spudcocks together, who'd obviously sneaked their devious way into the Vic end in front of me behind the goal and had the arrogance to stand up and cheer. I felt obliged to chastise them. Absolutely no respect at all. I've stood in the opposing end at various games for various reasons, but at least I had the politeness to keep quiet. But not these. They felt quite free to celebrate loudly and freely in the Watford end. A cop gave me a ticking off, but took them away, with the thick ears they thoroughly deserved, to go amongst their fellowcocks where they belong. I think you can see this happening on the TV replays. I've really got no time or sympathy for them. Another comfortable 3-0 home win. Iggy, Watson and Capoue (of course). Gomes to save a pen.
Actually, correction to that. It's been pointed out to me that the actor from 2.4 Children that I wrote about, Gary Olsen, tragically died in 2000. Moreover, he wasn't a Spuds fan at all, but just played that role for comic effect to emphasise the character's cockishness in the sitcom. Apologies and RIP Gary.
Also remember in more recent times a couple of spuds being ejected from rookery. As they were being marched along in front of the stand one of the spuds leant toward the crowd and was obviously gobbing off. Somebody at the front of the rookery gave him a right hander which seemed to shut him up. Was amazed that no action was taken against the Watford supporter.
That Harry Kane did nothing when he played against us in the championship but it looks like he's got better. Wonder if we will go on for him in Jan as back up to Iggy? £8m plus add ons should do it. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
White Hart Lane was an appalling ground to visit in the 80s, in fact I would say one of the worst. The angle of the terrace was extremely shallow and there was a ruddy great crowd fence across the front, couldn't see a thing of a game. No wonder their home crowd ended up higher up in the shelf if the view was as poor from the other end. To hide it's flaws bits of corporate glass and stuff were stuck all over the place. Never been back.
