As a side point, what a snivelling snide Harry Kane has become. Sprinted 30 yards to try and get Britos sent off, then in the refs face 10 minutes later to ensure Ake was.
Great effort from the players in that one. But to say I'm in a filthy mood at the overall performance of the officials in that is an understatement. Disgusted. I think the worst one for me was Danny Rose diving in his own corner right under my nose, the linesman's nose and then the referee comes over and refuses to pull a yellow out. This not long after Ighalo was chased and nibbled at by 4 spurs players for about 30 yards, before being booked himself. Truely bizarre.
Seems the BBC, QSF, Ake and Pochettino all need to take off their Watford tinted specs then. Taylor took his time before brandishing his red card to the bemusement of the Watford left-back and the home dugout. "My view was amazing but I don't like to talk about the referees. It is football," said Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores. "It is difficult," said Spurs counterpart Mauricio Pochettino. "From my point of view, it was an orange or red but more than yellow."
Ref was ****e but it appears he got the sending off right The length of a foreskin away from going 2 1 up Conceding to an offside goal I've just got home and booted the cat up the arse
Two games two offside goals allowed against us, so robbed of 3 points :rant::rant: Will we appeal the red?
I havnt seen the 'offside' goal but Adrian Durham sounded like a right biased twit on Talksport. He kept saying throughout the game that Watford fans are influencing the ref with the noise they were making - and that led to Deli Ali's yellow card in the first few minutes which he didnt even think was a foul Then after Son scored the winner he said it was a good goal. Son according to Durham wasnt offside according to the new rule in the first phase and wasnt offside when he touched the ball to score. David Pleat was more impartial on five live and he managed Spurs and L*ton
If Spurs is the worst team to play right now we're going to be more than fine. We belong in the Premiership. With 11 men we'd have got something from the game; even a win wouldn't have been bullish. Spurs first half were good though as they played our game better and we looked lost. We got stronger as the half wore on. Second half they came out stronger than us with a different game plan to counter attack. Again for about 10 minutes we struggled to adjust but we held strong and we pushed back. Hard to say whether Ake was red where I sat. The issue however is not the red but all the decisions big or small that preceded and followed the red. I hope the referee and assistants are stripped of the ability to manage in the Prem. Refuse to believe he was fit and proper
Walking at the moment so will comment more on the game later Have to say though, Deeney should bury that last minute chance if he's a Premier League striker, great performance from him again but has to pot that, Ighalo would've.
Dont know if anyone feels the same as me, but I feel more proud of us after today's game than I did after the Chelsea game even though we got nowt points.
If there was ever a game to prove Deeney's worth, this was it. He was playing about 4 positions in the last 10 minutes. Motherf**king Leader of Men.
Honestly it was a fantastic block more than a poor finish. If Capoue or someone else had done that we'd have been spùnking over how good it was.
Ighalo wouldn't have. It was a very good block. Troy could have done no more, short of bending spacetime to remove the defender from existence.
It was a great block, nothing more he could have done Deeney is unquestionably a Premier League striker, as he has shown all season long Bore off
I didn't and don't think it was a red card. Ake went for the ball and didn't really lunge, he was unfortunate to catch him which must represent something. Rose's dive was a ****ing joke and it summed the officials up that he didn't get booked. With ten men we reverted to early season defend mode and spurs were clueless.
Called the last minute winner as soon as Ake left the pitch. We don't do things by halves. At least 1 of Ake's 3 game ban will be spent in the FA Cup.
That ref should never ever ever be able to ref again what a **** the biggest **** I have ever seen.Never felt so cheated in a game in my whole life should be reported to the fa and never be given a chance again I am sure he had a spurs top on underneath his batty pants.
Lol watch it back. He was probably MOTM to be honest but has to bury that, took an unneeded touch, he was shaking his head himself watching the replay on the big screen.
Can you find me a BBC phrase where they have said it shouldn't have been red? All you have done is quote the BBC talking about Ake's bemusement, doesn't mention any of their own views. Ake and QSF will obviously be biased. Pochettino says it was more than a yellow. So, what was your point again?
The man's an idiot, it's exactly the new rule that makes it clear Son was offside as soon as he Challenged with Gomes for the ball - but even under the old rule it would arguably have been interference. he was behind the ball for he 2nd phase which would be onside but the whistle should have long gone by then
No it doesn't. It also doesn't matter that he went for the ball. A foul is a foul, whether the intentions are honest or not.
Okay so a clash of heads where one player misses the ball and headbutts the other guy... Sending off for nutting?
The ref got every big decision wrong. Ake was a foul but if its accidental and there is not intent or malice then it's a yellow. What was the game Iggy got a kick in the head when on the floor? Perfect example of a ref getting it right by giving that a yellow. Today perfect example of ref getting it wrong. Or maybe he is simply bent. Not that impressed with Spuds, resorted to cheating to beat us, that and having a ref in their pocket.
One of those days where every marginal decision went Spurs' way. We defended really well, one individual error and the offside goal from Son was the difference, we didn't really allow Spurs to create chances. My view on the Ake red card is that if the ref had given a yellow then no one would have queried why it wasn't a red but it's equally difficult to argue that it wasn't (agree with what Pochettino said in that regard). Ultimately I don't believe that if Ake had made the same challenge playing for Chelsea against us then he would have been sent off. Abdi was ineffective today after a couple of really good games. Watson had a great game, broke up play really well. Jurado did well to set up Ighalo but is otherwise flashy but ineffective in my view. Not sure why some on here seem to think he's played really well in the past few weeks. He's been better, but most of the time he plays extremely 'safe' passes, cutting inside and playing it sideways etc. To be fair to Jurado though, this may be due to the fact that he's not being played in the right place. Held our own against a side which will most likely get into the top four too which shows the level which we are capable of playing at.
My thoughts on the game Deeney motm. Immense performance. We'd miss him more than ighalo Sickening finish but I strangely don't feel that furious. I am in a Zen state of calm about how good we are. Spurs know they got incredibly lucky to win that. Never a red for me, but I've not seen a replay. If any of our first eleven had to get a ban I'd have picked ake. Holebas will do well against city Ighalos goal looked superb from where I was sat. Made a fool of those grocks Watson was tremendous. Definitely has won me over v behrami starting there I rate that Son
****ing awful ref. Even the Spurs fans thought it. Dele Ali could have broken Capoue's leg in the first 5 mins but he gets away with an awful tackle, which set the tone for the spurs players. As soon as they knew they could get away with that they just did it all game. Spurs players have gone down massively in my estimations, diving, surrounding the refs, niggly fouls and heavy tackles all game. Thought we did really well with 10 men. Great effort. Iggy is some striker.
Was seething after the whistle, and felt awful for the team who deserved so much more than they got today. Calmed down a bit now. As frustrating as getting screwed over is, it's a great feeling knowing we should have deservedly taken 4 points from Chelsea and Spuds were it not for two blatantly offside goals. How far we've come. Proud of the boys today, they can hold their heads very high indeed.
Thanks for that mate. I was in a bad mood after that **** of a ref robbed us. Your comments made me chuckle
