They're just hyping up the drama for their 'survival Sunday' Goal difference was out the window as soon as Leicester capitulated and shipped 4 to Bournemouth The only thing that really decides relegation now is results from the last 4 games involving the 3 teams at risk
Not sure the 3rd was clearly onside? The line for Sterling was about a yard ahead of him, so unless there was another clip later I didn't see anything conclusive (or unless there was another defender I didn't pay attention to). Not a game changer, but one goal at this stage is massive.
It was like printing your own money tonight again. As soon as I saw those team sheets I was all over it. Should just throw it all on Woolwich Arsenal now.
It is pretty joyless supporting WFC at the moment. The only positives we can possibly have now is other teams losing.
I don’t get this. If Villa get four points from their remaining games and we get one, it will come down to GD. And they will pip us.
Absolutely bizarre choice starting him. Cleverly was also hopeless but atleast looked like he was running around.
I’m astonished we didn’t use all 5 subs. Not to have any influence on the result but maybe the score with some fresher legs and especially to save some of the players for Sunday.
Sarr and Doucoure may well leave anyway. Del Boy when he’s fit. I’d prefer a total clear out, I think.
I don’t they can switch it on and off at will. I think it took a lot of effort to get to that level, like when they beat Bournemouth. As a unit they are way too fragile. No Capoue, no Deulofeu, half a Deeney - enough to be fatal to us. No amount of effort will make up for those players.
That’s why it’s not longer an issue, for that to happen they go+ with the win and then the draws keep it the same
I cannot really say I expected anything different. We were going to get tonked the way we played and rightly did. We went for it too much after they scored their first and should of sat back more. Cannot and won't blame Mullins for making all defensive subs late in the game. It was too easy for them all over the park. Our overall ball keep stat is pathetic. Foster brilliant penalty save but nothing could be done with the follow up. He saved us from a thumping worse than it was. We now have level GD with both Villa and Muff... so IF Villa lose tonight, it goes to the final day all to play for - and two from three will drop. On that overall performance, it was pretty poor and we should of parked the bus the whole game, put every man behind the ball and defended for our lives. Yes they would of scored eventually they are too good not to. But 4-0 probably flatters us it could of been even worse. Let's put one thing into some kind of perspective though - we would of been relegated in early February if it wasn't for what NP did. Do have a sniff at Arsenal? Probably not - but a point (if Villa lose) would save us. I don't feel angry after this game - as we knew the outcome when Pepsi Cola lied about his team line up... they had nothing to play for but still went full strength. Although the side they put out against Muff would of beaten us. We at this moment - still survive. Our GD is DOA now... we have to prey even harder Villa and Muff save us.
It's not sport. It's not entertainment. It's just boring. We actually worked our ******** off for 30 minutes but it was always a matter of when. A mis-hit cross and a great finish and we're screwed. Maybe it's being a fan of a small club but I love underdogs winning. But I read an article a while back that Premier League fans want more walkovers with more 6-0s as they like the idea of superstars. But to me, it's just ******* dull watching a squad where their reserve centre backs Otamendi and Stones cost over £80m and the best back four and keeper we can put out is worth £14m. City are absolutely classless ****s too. From playing a weaker team against a direct rival a week ago, to Sterling holding the ball out to Femenia for a throw and waiting till he arrived before throwing it away, to that **** Guardiola fiddling with his **** in his £1000 combat trousers because the game was so beneath him. I'm only upset that De Bruyne and Sterling didn't pick up injuries to keep them out of the Real game. Would've served them right.
I think I prefer a bunch of limited players giving their all for the Jersey and being relegated already rather than this lot. Please can Aston Villa do the decent thing and put us out of our misery by picking up some points now, we are doing our best to give them incentive.
So we now have to watch a match hoping one of the two teams in it will be brilliant this evening but then five days later become a terrible one. We have to hope the team we prayed (fruitlessly) would be rubbish last Friday night will be on fire on Sunday. We have to forget the last two years of hating another team, forgive them for unsettling and eventually poaching our Head Coach and star player, and cheer them onto victory on Sunday. We have to hope Pussetto’s last seconds clearance off the line counts more in the final reckoning than Villa’s last seconds winner against us. We have to remember that most of us have moaned over the last four seasons that our campaigns have effectively ended with a few matches to play, and the seasons have just faded away boringly. And now we’ve got one that will go to the final kick. Football eh....
Typically gutless performance, where we fail to land a glove on the opposition. Lack of marking for the final goal just summed us up in one moment. Nobody good enough to take responsibility and make sure we do the basic, simple things right. Either that, or the sight of Deeney desperate to get in the tunnel and switch shirts with De Bruyne.
That's been a big recurring problem for us all season and it's not difficult to see why we average less than a goal a game. It's also why we struggle defensively so often. It was cleverly giving away possession cheaply that lead to the second goal. There was a moment in that first half when Feminia found himself with the ball in space by the box, looked up to get an early cross in and there were no yellow shirts anywhere to be seen. Same old. Its little wonder we fail to develop players like success or oulare. I mean what's the point in them even trying when you know you'll never get given a chance ahead of certain players - even when those players are injured or woefully out of form. We looked 'better' when Welbeck came on but I wouldn't blame him for wanting out of the club asap. Dropped for an injured player whose struggled and another player whose generally looked disinterested since the restart. I dont blame Deeney. I blame Geraldi and a succession of managers who have kept picking him all season despite his fitness issues.
Well, I don’t know what Sky said, but it’s clearly still an “issue”, just one that now works against us as a result of tonight. Which presumably is why they were dwelling on it?
Expected nothing less. The gulf in class is ridiculous though and they played their full team. We at least put some effort in tonight and were ok for 30 mins but they were always going to score and win comfortably. Not much has changed. The GD was always going to be out of the equation after this game. We need Villa and Bournemouth not to win. Arsenal playing full strength side so hopefully might rest a few at the weekend.
New money, the neighbour with a pink porsche. The housewife mumtrepreneur with a designer handbag business she didnt put her life savings into but uses it as a tax fiddle. Putting some studs into some Man City knees may have got us a red card or two, but would have made Arsenals fa cup team worried and been worth it for next year*. *if theres a next year.
