Good luck to the lad I hope he does well and goes on to have a tremendous career but I think this move may have come too early for him. Having such a big price tag will bring pressure on him and I doubt Everton fans will be as patient with Richarlison. He needs to be better because he was basically non existent for us in the second half of last season and I have lost count of the number of sitters he missed.
Will he smile when he follows Ssssssnakey to his next job in eight months? Let's see who comes in now.
Definitely a test of character. The drop off in form last year might have been down to tiredness. But looking at the temperamental outbursts it might be down to confidence, or lack of, when things go against him. It's an enormous gamble by Everton at the price they've paid. And ironically the price might actually work against them if it puts even more pressure on the young lad.
A good deal... assuming that we strengthen the squad with the money. None of us are seeing any of the transfer fee so unless we sign someone with it it’s just one less player that plays for Watford. Don’t blame him for the move, especially if he’s gonna be on 110k p/w
Speaks volumes that the official site “Thanks him for his efforts” and wishes him the best etc in comparison to Silva’s dismissal.
Good money but a shame to see him go. We saw how good he could be early on in the season. Various factors contributed to a drop off in form but there's no reason he can't be back to that level and beyond. Good luck to him.
Good luck to him. His form did drop massively from December onwards but you could never accuse him of hiding from the ball when the going got really tough. Massive gamble from Everton. Like others, I think this move may come a bit too soon for him.
£45mil up front is amazing Gino, absolutely done them. I do wish Richarlison all the best for the future. Again, I would have liked him to stay and develop with us but he has chosen to jump ship. I have no ill feelings towards him, when you’re being offered £100k+ p/w you would be silly to turn it down, regardless of the club. All the risk is with Everton and as I’ve said before it is only ever going to end tears for them. Silva succeeds, he goes to a bigger club and takes Richarlison with him. Other clubs won’t offer anywhere near the £45mil they have paid for him unless he rips up the league over the next couple of seasons. So Everton will be left with a sulky player on a huge wage until he is reunited with his man or they take a loss on the £45mil they have paid us. Silva doesn’t perform, he gets fired, they have a sulky player on a massive wage waiting for the next transfer window to open to leave and go join his man. The only way this doesn’t end in tears and they keep hold of both, is if Silva cements evertons position as a 10th-7th in the league club. Actually that still ends in tears for Everton fans so never mind, tears it is all around. Thanks for the £45mil Everton. You have a very talented player on your hands with bags of potential. At that price though, you better hope he reaches it sooner rather than later.
Amazing that signing a player for 40 million pounds can be considered a gamble. Douglas Costa cost Juventus less than that. For me the biggest gamble is Silva. He has got one team relegated and very nearly got us relegated. He's the 2018 version of Mike Walker.
The numpties don't care about us at all, that's why they've got a whole thread on the subject. Seem a bit jealous. https://bournemouth-forum.vitalfootball.co.uk/threads/non-richarlison.6314/
FotMob have the fee as an Everton record at 47 million. This echoes reports from 2 days ago that it was a 42 million fee with 5 million add ons.
We paid 10 ish mill for Deolefeu and got 45 ish mill for Charlie in return . Well happy with that . I would put a bet on Del Boy getting more goals/assists for us than Charlie will for Everton.
Deulofeu is one of the most talented players I've ever seen but he is fundamentally flawed and past the point of being able to do anything about it. Occasionally he'll look capable of playing for Barcelona, but mostly he will frustrate, look shattered, fall over and sulk when he doesn't get decisions and finish like a child. He disappoints me hugely because he should have been so much better than he is With absolutely no hesitation, I'd take Richarlison over him, for no other reason than I at least have a bit of hope that Richarlison might develop further
He was young when he was with you and clearly not good enough to play for Barca. What little we saw of him last year gives me great hope . But yes he may flop as may Richarlison .
I’ve no idea what the final fee is or might be but I definitely think he looks better in Watford yellow over Everton blue. Major fashion error.
Deulofeu played 10 games this season for Barcelona before he joined us on loan in January. You don't play that number of games for Barcelona unless you have a modicum of ability!
Del might have played like that for you, but not for us. Might be something in that... Good luck with Richie, you’re going to need it. Thanks for the bunce...
He was with us as little as 18 months ago and, altogether had two and a half years with us He won't change. I saw every minute he played for Barca last season and he's still the same, selfish, undisciplined, sulking, half-fit diva he's always been. But in those few moments he gets space to run one-on-one against a full back, you'll cling to the hope that he could be something special. And he should be, but he's never adapted to playing as part of a team and you'll end up getting really annoyed with him. Those few moments when he does turn it on though... phwoar... they almost make the other 95% of the time when you're getting wound up by him worth it
He has ability in bucketloads mate. More than any player you'll have seen play for Watford since John Barnes, that's not his problem
Handy intel as no one on this forum reads both the Guardian & the D Tel. Closest is Clive’s Morning Star/FT combo.
We collect players like that at Watford Capoue - sometimes Stunning, sometimes a lazy **** and in Diva stakes makes Deulofeu look like an amature Holebas - I have seen him look good (I swear), but have also seen him do the most ridiculous handball of all time Amrabat - truly excellent going forward , not so good passing into the box Yes our team is flawed , but one of these days all of our players are going to turn up on the same day and we will win the league (or at least end up in the top half)
