Seeing Cathcart, Sema and Kabasele still in the first eleven when they should of all been moved on a few seasons ago is an even more depressing sight. Actually add Cleverly to that.
Surely everyone everywhere has thought of a type of cheese whenever they have preston a bleedin doorbell???
Agreed. Off topic, but has Gaspar got the attributes to play in a deep midfield position? Could be a useful option as he seems to be technically sound.
Depends how fit he is. He didn't seem to get involved much after he briefly came on vs Brum. I'd be surprised if we went back to having Kamara on the right, though I'd also be surprised if Sema is dropped. Not sure whether we'll use a back 4 or back 5, but I reckon we could start with a front 3 of Sarr and Sema either side of one of Manaj/Davis, depending on Davis' fitness.
Would be an odd move as we'd have to shuffle Choudhury over, and it'd be weird to play such an experienced player in a position he's not familiar with. Not sure he has the passing range either.
Since signing Davis has been seen daily by our medical team and should be ready to start games some time in early 2024.
I would assume his passing ability is superior to Cleverly and Kayembe. That was my thinking. I'm not comfortable with 3 at the back either.
My most memorable trip to Deepdale was in late August 1997. After beating Burnley, Carlisle and Brentford, we lost 2-0 to lose our 100% record. I remember my pal and I drove back to Watford and headed straight to the pub for a couple of beers. A couple soon added up and there was some sort of lock-in, meaning I didn't get home until the early hours. I woke after only a couple of hours' sleep, feeling a bit worse for wear, and incredibly thirsty. I got a glass of water and for some reason I switched on the TV and the TV news was reporting that Princess Diana had been involved in a serious car accident in Paris. On the Sunday afternoon, they cancelled the live Sky game – which I am pretty sure was due to involve Blackburn Rovers. Funny what sticks in the mind 25 years on. We were absolutely terrible at Preston that day and I remember we stood on a terrace down one side as Deepdale was in the middle of being redeveloped.
Yes remember that game and events that happened later on which kind of the game into perspective. Think an ex Luton player scored twice?! Game was Liverpool v Newcastle- interesting that got called off yet no games were when Prince Phillip died .
As long as Sarr is here and available to start, he starts, and as such, I think we might go back to a back 4 (especially with Kamara back). If so, then Sema probably doesn't get dropped as he'd be our first choice LW at the moment
Not saying Laird is going to absolutely rip up the Championship (he's gone to QPR rather than one of the true big guns of the division), but it's strange to me how we preferred Gaspar over him given all the talk of flying wing backs
I think it's because we'd learnt that the country had utterly embarrassed itself with the over the top, forced, media led grief fest that followed her death. Turned out that a dead royal didn't mean the world was ending.
The game is the chosen 3 o'clock Championship game being broadcast worldwide, so there are countless channels showing it. There'll be streams galore today. Satellite wise lots of the Arena's, Bein's have it amongst others and the legal streams ESPN, DAZN and all the Viaplay's. Most content suppliers will have all of these.
I think we are still 3 or 4 players short. Two weeks to go in the Transfer window. Looks like we are moving Ngakia out. Cathcart, Kalu, Cleverley and Bayo should follow him out. Okoye and Pollock should be sent out on loan.
Agree. LCB, RWB, Creative midfielder required at a minimum I would think. That is only if we keep both Sarr and JP.
Elton visiting the Vic after playing at the funeral. The crowd applauding him warmly. The minutes silence then being ruined by someone letting rip with a fart noise in the Vic End causing a Mexican wave of laughter. England in a nutshell there.
He's sold then. Newcastle must of stumped up the 30M will all want for him.* *no actual proof - just an observation to his absence due to speculation all week
Hope you are wrong. If he is going then hopefully they've got some hefty sell on % clauses added to this deal.
In the build up to the Preston game #bdsmhornets have expressed their deep concern that the club's new polo shirt is not available in rubber or pvc. #bdsmhornets have asked their honorary vice president Scott Duxbury (who is yet to formally accept the position) to make an official statement on this shameful diversity failure after the Preston game.
