[SOLD] Luis Suarez

I realise the players currently at the club would be pretty thin if all those rumoured to be going do actually move but we can still sign players if need be. (Not Matty Longstaff, sounds like he's re-signing with Newcastle).

With neither Suarez or Estupinan ever having played for the club or in the UK before there's a big risk either or both will be duds for any number of reasons. I'm not pinning any hopes on either being instant hits if for no other reason than not being able to join up with the club straight away, and we've all seen how long previous young & foreign talent takes to bed in.

It does look to me as if the club is actively shedding players they don't want here and it will depend on who stays as to which players come in.

As Leventhal said, there's a lot to do with little time to do it in. It's going to get busy very quickly.

Ivic will want a pretty settled squad and know who he is and isn’t working with.

Gino has taken a massive gamble by borrowing against the TV revenue. He’s not going to do that to then have no chance of being promoted first time.

Just don’t see us selling 3 strikers and leaving us going into the season with Gray as our one and only striker.

 

Reading that Tweet, he's certainly talking about moving to a club who are in the top league and European competition. He's not coming to Watford for sure, after reading that. Another one you can chalk off the list.

Always seemed like a stretch that he'd play for us after his in the Championship after his breakout season and he was obviously very annoyed not to be able to play in the play off with Zaragoza.

My real worry here is that all of our good attackers will leave, Deeney will desperately try to leave but no-one will take him and we'll start the season with a demotivated Deeney as automatic first choice.

Neither tweet is from Suarez. The fact that it was quickly edited suggests someone with more influence over the situation wasn't happy with the 1st one. It could simply be someone trying to kiss his ass to maintain a good relationship with him or an agent trying to make money out of him. The new tweet says: 'Together in this adventure Luis convinced that an enormous experience, the best is close to arriving!! We continue killer!! This Juanlu motherf****r got 72 likes in 10 hours so let's face it he's not exactly Kylie Jenner!

This is where the club has to put its foot down and say no. He's our player and he stays. The agent has probably engineered something good for Suarez, and if that's the case, it will be very hard to keep him. Even if we do keep him how motivated is he going to be? We need players who want to play and get us promoted. You cannot win games with half hearted players.

 

You know what this Transfer Window has been lacking? Some detective work from the forum!

They're in Playa Aruba resort, which Google tells us is in Torremolinos (classy!). Given the deleted tweet about top flight and European football, could he be going to Granada, given it's the closest club that fits the bill?

 

Because clearly someone wasn't happy that it indicated a transfer deal was about to happen while there was as yet no official announcement - football clubs do not take kindly to those kinds of leaks.

 

Could also be Sevilla going by similar logic.

 

That would explain the red heart in his tweet, as opposed to a yellow one for us.

Let’s wait and see. Lots of speculation, and no doubt there will be lots of movement. I’m sure the club will want to freshen things up as well as keeping some of the old guard, to give us a realistic chance of promotion

 

I’ve been saying from the start that we should expect anyone with talent to go. Makes it easier to accept when it happens.

 

Nothing to stop us selling him for £15m and bringing someone in on loan or for a cheap fee ? If he wants to go elsewhere he will go elsewhere. The days of clubs telling players "tough, we're not selling you" are long gone (Zaha at CP being the exception). No point in having a sulker bringing morale of the squad down. I'm sure Sarr and the Spanish contingent have been told to say they are happy to play for us to keep the fees up, otherwise clubs will know we have to sell them....
