Forgot about Mahon - is that deal made final yet or was it in July window?

He's still on loan as far as I know but I'm sure QPR are picking up the wage tab.

I'm going stick my neck out here and predict this as a very good signing. From what i have seen of him he is a very solid player with a hell of a lot of determanation.

Also, with Jay having to fly to Texas on Sunday and complete the round trip late in the next week we definitely need cover in defence.

With a bit of luck Nigeria will be knocked out Sunday and the Sh1t will be back by Tuesday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am pleased with this signing too.

He's not going to set the world alight but he's a decent player in my book and has enough experience without his legs having gone like Jackson & Malky. He won't need telling where to go etc for instance.

Now let's get rid of a few players. Trouble is of course the ones we don't want we might have trouble shifting.

    Well he's 8 years younger FFS. 27 - turns 28 in June.

Decent enough signing, i think he'll be a good squad player but I was hoping for a signing that showed more ambition!

I can't see Shittu being involved til after the Ipswich game now Col. Bloomin' annoying. Hopefully Blatter will do something sensible for once and force them to move the tournament like he's promised.

So true. Considering he quoted us that he wasnt even looking at getting a CB in during January. Did it take him that long to realise that Jackson was crap? A quality CM would go along way to fixing our problems all over the park. We cant have JJ & bang bang as the CM pairing. We all saw how easy it was for Wolves to stroll through the middle of them..

Sounds good enough for back-up and would fit into the team well.

As always I like to give our new signings a chance before they even play.

Clarke Carlisle is sold for 200k.

Someone very similar is brought in for 600k

    Ummm...

Very much so - I have been droning on about that for the last week!

    Still annoys me though.

    I liked Carlisle.

I think once you take into account that Carlisle is a year older, much much more prone to injury plus his personal problems and that he can really only play CB rather than CB/RB like Bromby, I don't think it's too bad a deal.

Don't get me wrong I think it is a good deal - I am excited by this window it has been brilliant - its just that Carlisle and Springy were the two mistakes which got on my nerves personally due to their pointlessness.

    Up the 'orns.

To be honest there must be something wrong with Springy, He is a great Championship player and for no one to take a 100K gamble on him is beyond me, I dont think Aidy made the mistake.

He's always caught my eye on his trips to the Vic

Anyone any further views to add after this impressive display ?

I think he's made a bold & brave move for someone young & appears to be northern through & through.
