I managed to edit the post you quote simultaneously with you posting.

    750k does seem a lot but as I say - I don't know if he's any good.

Ridiculous amount for a bit part player.

Not sure about this one? It certainly doesn't get me very excited, but lets hope he fits the bill.
I believe he is a RB? So does this mean Doyley might be going to QPR, I wonder?

i remember that being rob kozluk i think?

  5. Berkohorn

Correct - he was also the w@nker who got Malky sent off.

  6. Berkohorn

    Berkohorn Reservist

Possibly but I think Lloyd will go to centre half until Danny returns. I also think we will see Stewart playing midfield.

  7. krisvad

He's a centerback. At least some Blunts fans on 606 are wondering why he was played at right back.

  8. Berkohorn

    Berkohorn Reservist

He's been playing at RB because he is not very tall for a centre half. Less than 6 foot.

  9. krisvad

    krisvad Forum Viking

    6 ft according to Wikipedia.

I think this is odd. Do we need another utility defender? Or should be get specialists in - the latter imho.

Bromdy is better than Mariappa and Doyley

    Bromby Shittu Demerit Sadler

    better than

    Doyley Shittu Demerit Stewart

Still reckon we might get Gardner on load today. Woodgate MOM yesterday

I think the negotiations with Bromby will mean we won't be getting a center mid.

A friend of mine is a Blade, and when i asked him to describe Bromby in one word, he said he couldnt say it out loud because he was at work, but it started with C and ended in UNT.

    Nuff said I think.

Is he the guy with the long throw in ?. If so then he fits in to Aidys style of play..

we've paid a lot more for no part players. I've no beef with Aidy spending 750k on neccessary cover for our defence. If we have players out, as now, do we want to see Malky or Action Jackson plodding around and costing us goals. No. The likes of me will be up in arms. So if Bronby is better, then glad he's signed. If not, well, the pile of Aidy's shytt, money wasting signings is so high already that one more can't hurt.

He just cannot please some people.

If its £600k then thats good business.

£750k deal for Whelan would be good also

I didn't think we'd get anymore in. At 600k I think it's a good deal. Only thing that annoys me is that we now have 3 players who are right backs/center backs.

The more cover at the back the better as far as I'm concerned. It also means that Jackson & Mackay are less likely to don the yellow again which is in my opinion a good thing.

Two threads merged as on the self same topic.

As I've said I think this is a decent signing and it's patently obvious that Aidy simply can't win with some people.

Initially he's a centre back who can fill in at right back isn't he?
If that's the case it'll push Jay & Big Dan (when he returns) and hopefully Doyley will feel his place at right back is under more threat now which may lead to him getting some form back.
It means Mariappa needs to really get his finger out and show form in training if he wants to get a run in the team.

For a maximum price of £850,000 this could help galvanise the centre and right side of defence so, in my mind, it seems a pretty decent signing. I still hope we go for Davenport when he's fit too (in the summer).

Wonder if Doyley will leave now? Fingers crossed

Could probably re-coup most of the fee paid for Bromby

I doubt it and if we sold him we'd be short for cover again wouldn't we?
We've needed to buy - we've bought. We can't afford to sell surely?

I'm not Doyley's biggest fan - and think we should look to get a full time capable right-back in - but I wouldn't be rid of him entirely. A useful utility player...could easily do a Macca and hang about for 4yrs barely playing.

Doyley is one of my favourite players - for a number of reasons.
    - He's home grown - always a plus in my book
    - He always shows determination and fighting spirit.
    - His hair is often a comedy edition to the starting 11.
    - He's a decent fullback defensively and willing to work to improve.

I'd be bitterly disappointed if we let him go - but I'm pleased we've given him competition because I think he will raise his game as a result.

we must have a huge wage bill now. got to have some exits or loan deals surely, esp if Whelan does come.

I think King leaving took some of it off. I doubt CJ is on the same wage he demanding last year. I'd say with King leaving and Sadler, CJ and Bromby - we're probably 15k up in total.

We've lost our two reportedly highest earners in King and Mahon, so I'd imagine we're still ok. Point taken about the useless fringe players tho.
