Big IF if you ask me. Ya never know though, look what happened to a very decent United side last night.

That's a shame, but we gave a pretty good account of ourselves really. Considering that was still a strong spurs team, and we made 10 changes from Fulham. I don't like penalties, but Capoue and Quina didn't look like scoring theirs.

It's just a one game ban. But yeah, we should be appealling it. Alli waiting for the tackle, falls over, Kabasele genuinely trying to get the ball so should be a yellow card. Whole thing was rubbish.

The positive is that our second 11 is probably significantly stronger than our first 11 when we first got promoted. You can really see the progress we’ve made since being promoted when you look at how well they performed.

Can't fault the performance for most, overall an encouraging night but disappointing finish.

Success was outstanding, Chalobah and Quina very good too. Mariappa not far behind them either.

Poor decision from Gracia to change Mariappa and Cathcart at the back, both were very solid.

The downsides were a couple of awful performances. I've honestly never seen someone look less like a footballer than Sema, one of the worst performances I have ever seen. Masina not much better.

Time for Gomes to be dropped to third choice too, he was another that was poor all night

I was still trying to work out if it was a penalty or not let alone a red. Absurdly harsh from first glance.

I thought that defender shouldn't get sent off if penalty awarded.

Good for the kids but losing Kabasele will cost us points I'm sure. Bit silly that cups count in the league too. Capoue, had he been carded against Fulham, would have missed this. Now he'll probably miss Bournemouth by getting booked against Arsenal.

Ok one games not too bad. Its only against Arsenal, Mariappa will be fine against them

    Because it wasn't violent conduct.

It should get overturned anyway, he was clearly making an attempt for the ball so it's therefore not a red seeing as it was in the penalty area.

All in all not really that fussed. I don't think Javi is either, baring in mind how gung ho we went after they equalised. It's just a shame Aurier walks off injured and they're down to 10 men and within literally 30 seconds we've been reduced to the same through a questionable decision. The opportunity presented itself and went in the same instant.

I think tonight showed Gomes is done, Sema isn't up to scratch and Navarro is still too green. We need to start involving Chalobah in the league - he was on a different level for 80 minutes, picking passes with his eyes shut. Wilmot did a fairly good job too and Success did himself no harm either.

If we don't appeal/lose the Kabasele appeal it's going to be Mariappa and Cathcart on Saturday at the Emirates. Urgh.

Capoue's was poor but Quina's wasn't actually too bad, was better than Lamela's for example but the keeper just made a decent save

I think Marriappa instead of Kaba against Arsenal is the like losing a goal. He'll be out of his depth.

Well the double jeopardy rule says he should not have been sent off. Only if there wasnt a genuine attempt to get the ball then a red should stand. But there clearly was so he should have only got a yellow.

If we dont have him on Saturday then Ny chances of a result are gone IMO. He organises our defence.

That only applies if the referee decides the defender was making a genuine attempt to win the ball. Clearly Mason thought it was a professional foul by Kabasele, which is ludicrous.

Agree. Sema is exactly what he is. A low cost punt from a poor league and sub standard. Navarro an Masina looked poor. Gomes needs to be retired - dreadful. The rest of the performances were pretty good.

As has already been said the penalty was harsh, but to send Kabs off as well was outrageous, wasn't a instant decision by the ref so goodness know what he was thinking! Hopefully they will appeal tomorrow and get it overturned!

I'd rather Mariappa at CB than at RB if the Janmaat injury stuff is true! I thought Mariappa was excellent tonight and have no worries with him starting on Saturday (I thought Wilmot played better in the second half too when he was deeper so wouldn't even be that opposed to him starting at CB, both would be ahead of Prodl and Britos for me if fit)

More angry about the red card than the result I think due to the way it occurred and the impact it'll have. Obviously disappointed about result but at least we showed character to get it back to 2.2 when it looked like we'd thrown it away. Pens were a lottery

I cant see how we won't win an appeal tbh. Ref must totally have forgotten about that rule, like a cricket umpire who give lbw for pitching outside leg stump.

Chalobah was decent, domingos wasnt in the game a great deal, but what he did was good. Sema was not in it at all, Navarro good, Wilmot i dont see the quality but was tidy. Isaac looks moody but played very well. Lamela should have been booked, Gomes looks like a top class keeper who has reached retirement age +3 and is player manager for a non league team. As a team we work well for eaxh other.

    Dislike of spurs increases.

Mason also turned a blind eye to Son's usual dive trying to win a second penalty minutes after the first.

  27. Pleased with that despite the result - our reserves took a near full strength spuds side to pens.

Thought Success was excellent, pace, strength, can finish, the kids got it all, and can play lone striker! Glad he's sorted himself out, going to be a big player for us in years to come.

Chalobah, Quina, Wilmot also excellent. Sema's not really good enough is he...

Red card decision was nuts, it might have been a foul but was certainly no more than a yellow. Ref was archetypal star struck homer...

We all now know why Spurs were so desperate to play at stadium MK. No VAR so Alli is free to throw himself to the floor and the ref is free to send off Kabasele completely incorrectly. Clever

We did our usual hold them in first half come alive in second. Commentators miss this and can’t work out what spurs are playing at.

We score. Their more A team get the better of us. capoue celebrates scoring.

    10 v 10

Penalties sees our old goalie not do too well. Quina cries. Capoue misses. Headlines about bambamalam debbie Alli at his old club winning the game please the one sided media as it makes whatever copy they write very easy

    Son inevitably scores against us

    On to the fa cup

Despite the end result and the likelihood of losing Kabasele for the wknd, there's nothing to be disappointed about. Our B team have just outplayed Spurs A- team, embarrassing for them.

The club have to appeal the red. The decision was wrong on so many levels.

As mentioned above, it shows what a strong squad we have now where a group that was playing together for only the second time can put in that kind of performance against one of the so-called big 6.

As proven tonight - Chalobah is levels above the ridiculously overrated Ali.

The team deserve alot of praise for the way they played and then how they got back into it after going behind. We were the better team for much of that game. The stream I was watching it on wasnt the greatest so seeing the pen decision again in better quality might make me think differently, but from the replays it was never a penalty but a quite shameful dive from ali. Not that it matters the ref was itching to give them something, moments earlier he had already brought play back to give them a soft freekick which he then sited closer to the box than it should have been.

Wonderful performance to hold a very strong Spurs side. Seriously, we got a 2-2 against them and they needed massive helping hand from a referee in order to do it, or else we'd have won.

That's the trouble with cups. You get a bad deal from a ref and you're out, there's not another week to put it right. But....it's always been like this and always will be, so I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

I'm just pleased at how well we're playing. To play that well against Spurs with the team we picked is magnificent. On another day, with a fairer official, that would have been a victory. Well done to Watford. Great display.

I thought he should have saved both Alli penalties too.

And, as I said in the shoutbox in the first half, with him in goal we consistently ended up playing 15 yards closer to our own goal than we do with Foster.
