We've been drawn away to Spurs. Which will almost certainly become home to Spurs, as they can't use Wembley that night and have already suggested they'll be looking to swap it.

Well that cup run was fun while it lasted.

At least we get to concentrate on the league again.

I dunno - Spurs will have Champions League the week before, then Brighton away, us in the cup, then Huddersfield away, then more Champions League. We're the obvious candidates for their fringe and youth players to get a run out against.

1st v 3rd and 2nd v 4th drawn in the cup. Obviously not keeping the giants apart in the early stages of this competition.

    Milton ******* Keynes.

Spurs making a mockery of the tournament. If the cockney ****s can't play it at their pit, then it should be at ours.

I've not been to MK stadium and this sounds like having the makings of a cracking - if slightly surreal - night. But why can't Spurs play at Wembley while their new place is being finished off?

How will they setup the seating allocation? Will they go 50/50 or give majority to Spurs because they are the "home" team

If it's at Stadium:MK it'll be a home game for them, so we'll get the normal away allocation.

Wembley's booked for something else. Anthony Joshua is fighting there on the Saturday before so I don't know if it's the clear up from that?

Depends what date it is as Joshua is fighting at Wembley on the 22nd.

Who seriously wants to put money into that franchise. They should play behind closed doors, with Watford and Spurs live streaming it. That “club” doesn’t deserve any money from anyone.

Either that or Spurs should be made to forfeit since they can’t fulfill their obligation. Apparently they rejected to switch it to an away game. Will be hilarious if the EFL say no you Spurs, then what?

Been rushing & seriously thought this was a joke.

    Only just read the background.

    Spurs can't pick & choose.

Let's switch the league game to Inverness. Or Tucuman, Argentina as a nod to Bobby P.

They will definitely rotate against us.

I reckon it'll be something like:

Vorm; Walkers Peters, Sanchez, Foyth, Rose; Winks, Wanyama, Lamela, Sissoko, Onamah; Llorente.

We can beat them if that's what they do.

I would like to think spurs will pay a fee to hire the stadium. Hopefully as a 3rd round match, tickets will be cheap and i believe we get 45 per cent of net proceeds. So my conscience will be clear when supporting my team.

Surely the club has a say in this?
Spurs can’t shunt us around without consultation and our agreement to play at MK?

Agree with this. That's how it works right the way through the football pyramid.

If the home team is unable to provide a pitch to play on, or get a team together, then they forfeit and the away team gets a bye through to the next round.

Say what you want about Stadium MK but i believe it does have a pitch.

As did Milton Keynes City back in the 1970's when they were bought for a quid by the directors of Wimbledon in view to moving their football club there. When they found out the league wouldn't allow them to do this they abandoned MK City and they subsequently folded. A part of the Dons story seldom told or conveniently forgotten.

Didn’t Spurs talk the league into letting them reverse a series of their fixtures this season, so that they could play away first? I honestly think the best solution in this case is also to reverse the fixture. I say this not in the hope of gaining a home advantage against a likely rotated team, but it feels like hosting the game at Milton Keynes would mean there would be no winners. It’s what, 50 Miles from London? That’s a ‘home’ game. On a Wednesday night, too. There’s a lot to factor in. Once again, I honestly think the best solution all round, considering the teams playing and the distance between the two, is to reverse it and play the game at Vicarage Road. I know that’s not the neutral venue they want, but if Milton Keynes F.C. say no to the request, reversing the fixture could be the difference between staying in the competition or forfeiting* through being unable to fulfil the fixture.

*the cynic in me believes that, being a ‘top 6’ club, they wouldn’t be made to forfeit.

To be fair, 50 miles is nothing compared to what Man U fans have to travel to see “their” team at home!

Alli grew up in MK so it is, in that sense, a home game for Spurs.
