Apparently we've offered 8million euros plus two players. Can you guess the players?

Fabbrini used to play for Palermo, I reckon he's one for sure. Wouldn't be surprised if it's Fernando though.

Fabbrini then! Either Belk or Battochio. I hope its not Battochio.

if you could be bothered to read ross you would see that I've only been told who one of the players is.....fab is part of the offer. no idea who the second player is.

Quick, subtly announce Perotti without actually signing him, offer Fab and Perotti in return for Vazquez, before Palermo have a chance to respond, announce Vazquez and put him in the starting line up for the Wimbledon game.

    It's foolproof.

the chap who passed this onto me in the first place. Went to school with him and he used to work for a national paper. I'm obviously not going to give his name or anything on here, but I've no reason not to trust him. After all with the bassini fiasco he was spot on. To be fair to him all he has said is we had enquired and made an initial offer for cash and two player registrations. He knew fab was one but does not know who the other is.

I can see this happening although it's a funny situation as we don't actually hold his registration. However as long as he's getting paid then why would he leave without a better offer on the table?

Would his registration have come to us now that Parma have gone under? Or would it have gone to his last permanent club, Genoa?

  21. Just out of interest was there any reason given why he left? If the club didn't want him then why bring him back for pre-season for a week instead of getting rid before? Or did Parma administrators have some kind of recall?

i wondered about toszer but being brutally honest how much value does his registration actually hold?

He'll be a free agent with an undertaking to us if he wants to continue getting paid. I doubt we could stop him from just walking away but I really can't see why he should sour relationships by doing so. It wouldn't surprise me if he's tied to such a deal with Palermo but whatever happens I think we can be pretty sure he's played his last Watford game without signing for us permanently.

I don't think I'll be able to cope if Fessi is one of them. I imagine it'll be the same feeling a mother gets when her kids move out.

As much as someone's willing to pay ... but not much to WFC and if we don't need him he'll be [or has been] released one way or another.

Several of the 'elite' European clubs have looked at him. Had Argentina not had a surfeit of talented players he would have ended up playing for the national team rather than Italy.

He and Dybala were the main thrust of the Palermo attack last season. Dybala went for a very large sum given he is one of the best young talents in world football and Franco would probably command a lesser fee but still a substantial one. Suffice to say his level of ability would be the best if it ever happened to be seen at Vicarage Road.

An amazing coup fingers crossed although there is always the proviso of players settling down in another league.

This could be an inspired signing. I have some concerns that he's 26 and only managed one successful season at a decent level. But if he is a one season wonder then he's a very talented one. Sometimes players just need things to come together for them to blossom. Dybala for example was cack for Palermo until this year.

Dybala was always talented. He was outstanding for Insituto even though he was in the Primera B in Argentina. It took him a while to adjust but he showed his true form this season. At the time of his move from Instituto the established clubs in Argentina River, San Lorenzo were looking at him but none could match the fee demanded. Unlike Vasquez although he can represent Italy and Poland Dybala is set on playing for Argentina and that will probably be very soon.

Vasquez was also exceptional for Belgrano in the Primera B and was key in their promotion to the A when they beat River Plate in a playoff. Again the offers were on the table to take him away from a provincial club to the metropolis of BA but the fee could not be paid. All the skills and attributes seen in the video in the initial post of the thread applied to him when he was at Belgrano.

And he played very well for Vallecano a team built on a shoestring when Belgrano decided a loan fee and a shop window for him in Europe would serve them well. That short period allowed him to adjust as well as being in a country that is more conducive to settling in and showed that his form with Belgrano was no fluke.

I have a feeling that the second player is Batto unfortunately. I don't think there is enough potential value in Toszer for it to be him. Batto + Fab + 8m euro has got to be worth at least 12m euro I would have thought.

Much as I like Batto, we have to trim the squad so sacrifices have to be made. If that secures the deal I can live with it.

Never seen him play so not really able to comment, but the video definitely makes him look incredible. Absolute king of the nutmeg, which I love. Another thing that stood out was how well he used his body to protect the ball and make space for himself. Looks like he's a pretty big lad, so I fancy he'd adapt well to football in this country. Watching him on the video, he looks like Abdi on steroids.

I appreciate Opti stating what he's heard, and I have little reason not to believe it, but how do we know he'd come here?

We don't, and I have considerable doubts that he would even think about it, but that's the next step isn't it, and I suppose we'd only find out for sure if a bid was accepted by the club and we got to actually talking to the player himself.

I think some players would be very attracted to our set up but as always they have to see them first or at least know someone here. However I suspect wage expectations won't be met for many of them despite the PL attraction.
