DAY 2 - Werewolf 2018

Can someone post all four messages in one post so we can compare styles? It's proving a pain to do on my phone.

I think if we see them all together, we'll be able to see that both authors have maintained their style from yesterday.

 

Similar posting style to the second message which I believe is the wolf.

You have a run in with Cthulhu yesterday and he gets eaten overnight.

This is your seer. It is a sad day in our village - RIP Otter. I am not going to play mind games waiting for the wolf to post as Day 1 is always tricky. The first viewing is always random so I decided to view a traditionally active player to see if they are a force for good or evil. The player in question is NorwayHornet who is GOOD. Sorry this doesn't help much regarding who to lynch but it was always unlikely that we would find an evil player this early.

Hey guys,

Decided to view Diamond as he's very experienced and if not killed off early will be useful to whichever side he is on. I can confirm he is in fact GOOD.

This must mean the first message is from the wolf so I'd suggest voting Norway or someone who's played the game more than once as the message appears to be from an experienced player.

This is your seer. Sorry for the delay. It is another sad day in our village - RIP Diamond and Chutlhu. Day one was tricky, as it always is. Hopefully things will become a little clearer today. I wrote the first message yesterday and I viewed NorwayHornet who is GOOD. Today, I decided to view one of the quieter players who has had the finger of suspicion pointed at him. I viewed Daft Row, who is also GOOD.

After my **** up yesterday I decided to keep it simple and view Daft Row who few have had suspicions on and I can confirm he is in fact EVIL.

I'm sorry but how can Meh be evil at this point?

If a wolf targets another wolf then it accidently kills one of its allies. That has always happened.

Meh is therefore one of two roles:

- The harlot. To be honest someone out there knows if this is the case as Meh stayed with them. They could out themselves, but this would paint a target on their back so I understand them wanting to stay quiet.

- The guardian. The guardian can protect himself. It is possible for him to protect himself in this situation, although it would not have been my play as a guardian.

He is therefore the harlot, unless there is a role previously unseen in werewolf.

 

Hang on PJ help me clear something up in my own mind ! the guardian didnt save meh because Meh wasnt there right , guardian found nothing but a trashed room , suggesting a wolf had been in there at some stage. stay with me here, The easiest thing is to say meh is the Harlot (which works for me) but please explain to me in detail why he couldnt be the wolf .(sorry for being a dumb ass).

Whilst I'm inclined to agree that message 2 on each day has been the wolf, I can't determine why I and collectively most of us have made that deduction?

Because Diamond was GOOD? but he was named as GOOD?

Because the messages have been awful? But that just means either the WOLF or SEER is awful at writing messages. A WOLF should be doing better than this guy/gal is with their messages too.

The shitness of the posts is not evidence that they are the wolf. I just can't determine rationally why we would assume message 1 is seer and message 2 is the wolf with anything other than a hunch.

Moog my main reason for believing message 1 is the seer is the timing , it doesnt help team good much to post late , it just causes confusion which is surely a team evil tactic . You should get that ,as I seem to remember a couple of years ago you were an excellent wolf.
I agree messages arent great but the standard of the second are very poor , Imo the second messages have been made very poor deliberately to cause maximum mayhem and in that the wolf has been entirely successful.
Sorry if that makes no sense like I said I am struggling to figure this .

 

It is just a hunch, but for us all to have a hunch is weird.

If anything the fact that the only message we know to be true so far is the second message from Day One should mean logically we trust the second message more but I can’t seem to shake that “hunch”

I don't think I've ever been an Alpha Wolf, sadly. Or a Seer. Like the Tim Henman of Werewolf, I'm cursed to be a humble everyman, who exits after 3 days.

 

The second messages have been soooo bad im struggling to understand why either seer or wolf would post them.

If it's the seer then they are awful.

If it's the wolf then it's like they aren't even trying to make it difficult as they look so obviously blasé and whatevs.

I can't fathom why even the wolf would paste such garbage???

 

Really I could have sworn you was a wolf maybe a beta then , more evidence of my suspect memory

 

But more relevantly @Norwayhornet I see your point and the timings are relevant, even if today, it could have been purely accidental. They were only, what 25 minutes apart and Otter had been away for much of that time. It doesn't seem that much of a tactic, more like tardiness.

 

I think I was a Gamma wolf once. Never made a kill, never sent a message and rightly identified as evil by a message within a day or two. I think I clung on for 3 days however, because people ignored the messages and followed other suspicions.

 

Exactly what I'm saying. People seem to be suggesting that the 2nd messages can't be from a Seer because they are so poor, but surely a Wolf would be using his tactical messages far more carefully too? There's so much you could be doing with them!

 

Thanks for that Moog that is at least a little comforting ! Hope you last further than day 3 ,no hard evidence but you seem to be Good , a wolf would have let me wallow in self pity.

 

One person has written both message 1s and the other both message 2s, that's clear. The wolf might have changed to copy the seer's style but the reverse wouldn't happen.

Now just need to decide which pair is which...

 

for that I was mainly referring to yesterday.

 

If I was a wolf at least one of the message pairs would be decent.

 

Im voting Squibba. I dont think I have any other alternative and there is a bit of evidence pointing towards him.

Wish to share ?

 

To my mind, until we can establish the Seer and Wolf behind the messages what we know is:

Day 1

Diamond was viewed Good. Was killed and turned up Good. This can be viewed as a free hit by the Wolf or a genuine Seer view and the Wolf reacted.

Norway was viewed Good. Either This was a Seer view or a free hit by the Wolf. This is yet to be 100% proven one way or the other because this hasn't been tested via Lynch or kill or verifying the correct message.

Day 2

DR was viewed as Good. 5 minutes later (Not exaggeration), the 2nd message is then posted and has him. viewed as Evil. We know this via the time stamps. We are yet to reach a general consensus as to who sent which message.

 

Unless the wolf did boldly post first yesterday and the seer is really distancing themselves from it maybe.

And the wolf is stuck into the style for today at least to carry off the plan.

The seer then left it really late again and the wolf panicked about being kicked out of the game so posted allowing the seer to continue second.

The above is complete and total speculative bs.

A bit further up I responded to him with a couple reasons

 

Well if you believe message 2 day 2 then you have to vote for DR , if you believe that message 1 days 1 & 2 are from the seer then DR is Good I believe second messages are from the Wolf mainly because of day 1 timings .

You've been clinging on to that from this morning before either of the messages came in and now you vote super early ignoring the evidence in both messages. Weird but cool.
