I've got nothing against families going really. They just need to be able to hack the endless standing up and down and constant shouting. Problem is the kids are too tubby and parents too lazy to keep on lifting them. When my son was little he was skinny enough I could lift him by the ears like the FA Cup, his little legs kicking away, whilst he sang anti-luton songs in a fashion that alarmed passers by. We enjoyed those days and laugh about them now. His ears are a little longer than the average but he's a happy fella.
Let them come, but only if the parents can hold them in the air, unaided for the duration of three Ben Watson corners.
Pantilimon saves, Zaha follows in, Pantilimon saves again! Cathcart clears the ball up the field and it's controlled by Capoue. Capoue plays it down the line to Ighalo, Ighalo crosses it in... Here's Watson... DEENEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEY!!!
I'll be surprised if Muff don't try to sign Zaha in the next transfer window. He'd be perfect for them.
The playoff final I watched from the comfort of a box with my prawn sandwiches with a bunch of Palace fans. Can't wait to do that again. Loved the prawn sandwiches, they tasted so good despite the result. Might treat myself to a half and half scarf too. What times we live in!
I wonder if the Wembley acoustics will suit the Adebayor song? The distance from the stands to the pitch will make hitting a target with a lighter more of a challenge though. So much to think about
How does it work with European qualification now? I know the winner of the FA Cup use to get a spot? Is that still the case? If so, what if the winner is already in Europe through their league position, does it go to the runner up?
Best draw possible on the current form of the teams. West Ham should get past Manchester United at present. Eminently winnable.
Elton v The Dave Clark 5! Bring out your LPs and CDs! Best we could hope for and I'm sure they think the same. Dear God can we please ALL turn up this time? -I'm sure the 1881 and Gino are plotting as we type. COYH!
What is we were to beat Palace and play against Champions League qualified Man U or West Ham (they both have a chance with the way City and Arsenal are playing), would a Europa place go to us in that circumstance?
Nope not anymore. The place would go to the next highest team in the league. UEFA didn't like the runners up going into Europe.
Got a question for you all. If we lose to a Champions League qualifying club in the final, does that mean we qualify for the Cup Winners Cup?
What was with that semi-naked 50-year-old Evertonian? Did he say he was going to do a sponsored walk all the way from Everton to Wembley in speedos should they get to the cup final?
I was only replying to JB who suggested it!! If my friend Watford Talk or anybody else has time to trawl through old posts he will find one from me way back in December predicting we would reach the cup final this season! And more recently, one predicting we would win at Arsenal and we'd get a goal there from an unlikely source. And all through this cup run I said once we hit the semi finals EVERYBODY would start to get excited and we wouldn't read posts about the cup not mattering or would be rather get 3 points in the league etc!! I get so much wrong I'm really wishing I'd put my money where my mouth is and had a bet on us back in December!
Aiming to make this my first live game since, bizarrely enough, Palace at Wembley last time! Amazing coincidence really!
I think we can safely say Watford v Leicester would be the most unlikely Community Shield match of all time to start the new season! And yet....
