Cheers thanks for the update everyone. Hardly suprising what with Wembley's capacity being 90,000! Saying that at least 40% of those seat being allocated to Corporates...
I dont think that's the case for the semis. We will get more tickets for the semi than the final, should we get there. It'll be over 30k I believe.
Personally, I would like to see Watford v Leicester in the prestigious Community Sheild at Wembley Stadium, with pundits and fans of the big clubs having aneurisms up and down the country, tweeting things like "RIP England's credibility in European Football" and "We need to stop this from happening."
I think people will patronisingly accept the minnows having one season in the sun without too much complaint, but it will be next season if the likes of leicester and us are still keeping the big boys out of the limelight that things will get interesting.
Yeah as a default. Saturday ko time in the last 5 years though has been 1720, 1707, 1715, 1230 and 1715. 1707 was a 7 minute delay because it was anniversary of Hillsborough and 1230 was a Liverpool derby so I imagine old bill fixed that one.
Unlikely, as someone pointed out yesterday it gives them an extra week to soak up the atmosphere in the Far East.
League position aside: Win the FA Cup, you play in Europe. Don't win the FA Cup, you don't play in Europe.
I imagine BBC get first pick of the games, and like the last game, it'll be a 5:30pm game on the Saturday (there's no TV game on the Saturday at all and BBC showed the Saturday evening game last year). I'd imagine BBC will pick the Everton game, leaving our one on BT on the Sunday with a 3pm kick off...
I just had talksport on in the car and they said we're playing on the Saturday. I can't see it reported anywhere else though and they didn't give a time.
Outraged Everton fans calling TalkSport saying it's not right that the Saturday game is between two clubs where the fans could practically walk to Wembley, and potentially have an all north east match on the Sunday when there are going to be fewer trains.
Yeah I do feel a bit sorry for everton if they get the sunday. Speaking of everton, I was reading an everton messageboard earlier on and they all want us in the final, not because they think we are pushovers (they actually seem to fear us a bit after the 2-2 at their place) but because they see it as a fitting tribute to howard kendall. I'd rather we got man utd though.
I think anyone we'll meet in the final are beatable and not to be feared. Honestly think it's our year :mengoal:
Their comprehension of distances outside their own villages is not very accurate. Apparently they still believe the earth is flat and beyond the hills is where the outsiders live and can only mean trouble.
Slightly off semi-final topic so apologies. Much as I really hope Leicester take the title this year, I am not confident they will be strong next season. Can't see them keeping some of their key players over the summer.
So if it's a Saturday tie, we will be playing in the league three days before. West Ham away on the Wednesday night. Mind you, there's half a chance the Hammers will be in the semis too.
Palace's game with Man Utd at Old Trafford has been moved to the Wednesday as well. I'd hazard a guess their big names won't want to miss that one.
At least our guys aren't travelling far. Could be back home by 11pm. Imagine Palace will be quite disrupted as they'll either leave it until Thursday to travel back, or get back well after midnight.
Could someone in the 1881 start a thread when you know what blocks you are going in.. Hopefully we wont get out sung this time at Wembley.
They have Leicester and then West Ham in their next two games. Newcastle away is soon after I think so quite tough and edgy, although I'm sure they won't go down. Infact I have a rather umpty feeling that they will beat Leicester, but then again I was sure we'd get Everton last night!
To be fair, able bodied Watford fans easily could walk to Wembley. There would be a lot less obesity in the world if they actually did. Palace fans attempting to walk to Wembley would suffer enormous casualties though, which could ruin the atmosphere at the game.
