Villa was on Talksport the other week talking to Brazil and Beecroft. He was telling them that there will be some young Argies turning up on our shores soon.
With arms out wide in the crucifix position he has a span from longest fingertip on one hand to the one on the other approaching 5 metres. He will undergo extensive pointing training and is seen as the natural successor to Gavin Mahon.
Sounds great and set to make his mark later this season, not in 2 or 3 years. Give him a chance to settle in.
Looks like we have signed a midfielder then! http://www.watfordfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10400~1098891,00.html Well none of us saw this one coming
Impressed that the club were scouting that far afield! I wonder how he got a work permit? Anyway although i know nothing about him, if he is a defensive, holding midfielder he sounds like he could be useful. I guess the reasons he wont play in short term are the lack of experience and the language barrier
It's breaking news. For the sake of people being able to spot it quickly, and to prevent loads of other threads popping up, it's in General Watford for the next few hours.
A week or two ago this lad was learning the art of midfield mastery from his influencial captain Ariel Ortega and now he looks up to...........:doom: .....................oh well !
'looking up' is something he'll be doing a lot if he's playing alongside Mahon, hope the boys got strong neck muscles.
Boy do I like this move, even though I haven't got a freaking clue who he is. It tells me the scouting apparatus I have oft questioned in these very boards is actually alive and kicking. There are so many good players around the world, investing in a young talent is a great idea. Now the only thing left is for this kid to actually be successful! No, Santiago Munez is an American of Mexican descent...your typical Angeleno. He's a f8cking Chivas fan though. They need to shoot Goal 4 where he retires to the Galaxy for a 9 figure deal, and gets injured every other game.
I'd been praying all summer that we would be signing someone they saw on their trip. I posted on here a few times that I would be incredibly disappointed if nothing had come of all that time, effort and potential. Thankfully, it has (had to wait a bloody long while though, what took them so long?!).
hopefully this lad will be able to play a bit in the reserves before he is prepared for english football and hopefully will make an impact in the latar part of the season. who would have thought it a brizalian and an argentinain in our midfiled, its got to work rinaldi and new dude whos on loan-what a partnership :]]
Well it must take some convincing to get a young lad to leave a big club in his own country to come across to 'sunny' England and Championship football.
just spotted this seems like a good signing hopefully will be given the time to settle in and then if hes a holding midfielder and has got some talent will be the natural successor to gav when aidy finally comes to his senses and realizes a scarecrow with 6 arms (so he can point in every direction) would be better than gav
Like Priskin I bet he will need some time to settle. I hope he has got the skills to pay the bills* as he sounds a good prospect. *(had to get that in)
I've been doing a little hunting for info on this kid. There is nothing in English except rehashes of the announcement from English sources, and nothing ELSE except this lone match report from a site describing itself as Inferiores Platenses, which I gather means something like 'lower level River Plate guys'. Conclusion: Don't get too excited (like I did) about him. Santiago Aloi is not a River Plate club player, not a River Plate reserve club player, but instead a player in the River Plate amateur ranks of kids and young men. He may still be good, but he is unproven and untested. This is a little entertaining... Mi espanish es no bueno, pero babelfish says: Bottom line: he played the whole game, he got a yellow card.
can only be good for us at the moment hopefully he will inject a bit more flair and not just hoooooooooooooof!!!
