I know there's TVOR April Fool's thread in Main Section but this story everywhere today. PSG & Monaco join Chelsea in race for £40 million Richarlison. I'd bite your hand off, his ceiling at best is a £60-75 million player but there's a risk he won't reach them heights so 40 right now would be a great deal. We could buy two centre backs and a left back with that money and be better for it. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/psg-monaco-join-chelsea-arsenal-12322280
He's 2 years away from those sort of teams if he gets his head down and works his arse off on adding something to his game so he's worth playing when he hasn't got the run of his fullback. Since November he's not been good enough for our team let alone top sides in Europe
I can't see any prospect of us doing top business for Richarlison this summer. I'm sure if we want to push him out the door and double our money then yeah, it's doable. But I can't see £40m being on the table.
Draxler, Di Maria and Neymar. Richarlison isn’t even the preferred choice off our own bench over Okaka at the minute. FAKE NEWS.
Agent talk. 1. Link him with top clubs and make him seem like a top quality talent. 2. Leak news that he is tempted to play for a club just below Europe's elite, as he wants guaranteed first team football/ top club is stalling. 3. Europa League team chairman feels like it is now or never to snatch a player from the elite, and makes an offer. 4. Profit (for agent)
The increases in TV fees are slowing across Europe & will, at some point, start to decline. There will be a lot of negative equity (with silly hair cuts) walking around the training grounds of Europe.
Only in England. The rest of the leagues are actually gaining on the PL somewhat. http://www.dw.com/en/new-bundesliga-television-deal-worth-464-billion-euros/a-19318613 - Bundesliga up from €2.51B to €4.64B https://www.soccerex.com/insight/ar...ghts-distribution-model-a-level-playing-field - La Liga went from €851m in 14/15 to €1.25B last season https://www.thelocal.it/20180205/serie-a-tv-rights-mediapro - Serie A TV rights have doubled for the next 3 seasons.
Interesting that La Liga's "almost" dropped its (2+everyone else) model of dishing out the money. I thought that "some" of the PL clubs were pushing for (6(7?)+everyone) else model?
At the start of the season I was convinced he was one of the best and most potential filled players we had seen at the Vic. To be honest if his head's gone or he's just knackered I'm not sure but I wouldn't be upset if he moved on now. Not fussed either way but then I'm like that about most of our players now. What's best for the club? not sure he could come good again but selling now could help us strengthen the team. What's best for his career? Another season with us or similar where he starts banging the goals and assists in and fulfills the potential he has and he'll be able to pick and choose a club and salary.
Hopefully with an end of season break and good preseason training under his belt, he will get his MOJO back, and stay at least another season with us, before we sell him on at a great profit.
I think he misses Marco Silva. I think a LOT of the players do, actually. He looks utterly miserable under Gracia. There's something fundamentally wrong. The kid needs an arm round him, but Gracia simply doesn't believe in him and I don't think he will ever play like he did in the first half of the season while Javi is still here. Young players are complicated, but what they need most of all is confidence (e.g. Ashley Young under Aidy, Murray under Dyche, hell even Priskin under Rodgers)
Are you trying to be sarcastic because you’ve realised someone has posted something that is more informative and wise than you’ve ever posted on here? Still awaiting your reply about Carrillo by the way. It’s been quite a while now...
There are some real bloody hypocrites on this forum, I'm not singling anyone out but if you recognise yourselves in this, then it's probably you! Early in the season he was the next Pele, and everyone worshipped the grass he walked on, now he's crap and you want him gone. He's a 20 year old lad, the fact is young players have peaks and troughs in their performance, but they also have years in front of them to get better and better. FFS cut the kid some slack and give him some support.
Plus the fact that in the last 12 months he has probably played more minutes on the pitch for us and Fluminense than the vast majority of players in the Premiership. You can't keep performing to the same level for that long when you are only 20 and learning the game. He has also lost his father figure with the cvstos watch. Although I detest the man, I think Richarlison needs someone like Eddie Howe managing him.
He'd been rubbish for some time before Gracia pitched up, who then started him in his first eight games in charge. He's been no worse under Gracia than he was for the previous ten or so games under Silva. The worst you could accuse Gracia of is not getting him to rediscover his good early season form, but then Silva couldn't do that either, even with his arm supposedly around him. Richarlison's form meant he had to be dropped, simple as that.
If we can get big bucks for him then it makes sense to let him go. We have Success and Penaranda to step straight into the "talented and skilful but inconsistent and unproven, with a potentially bad attitude" role.
And the upside of either of those two is that neither are in the 'fall-over-at-the-slightest-touch-and-scowl-at-the-ref' category.
