    I was at that game. Didnt go often during that period but had to go to the official stand opening.
    We saw Boro's (injured) wild man Jamie Pollock having a beer in the Red Lion about 20 minutes before kick off. Someone asked him if he was playing :)

    If we could afford it, I'd like to build a stadium on the outskirts of L*t*n, just to prove we can, and then just leave it there, unused.
    Every other saturday their 6000 fans would drive past it on the way to their little shed.

    A pet peeve of mine is that football history is almost always restricted to living memory and those from the early era of the game are almost totally forgotten. I'd like to see a homage to the distant past with some acknowledgement for John Goodall.

    I dunno.. he's ended up with the brightest headstone this side of Caracass!

    I think in the past it was often those from way back that were honoured.. portraits of founder members in the boardroom type thing. I think these days people prefer it to be people in living memory. There should be room for both of course.
