Abdi. The very best loanee we ever had. Unlike Vydra he actually wanted to be here.

I wont say i told you so ;)

PS That flooring must be pretty hard judging by what's it done to those girls backsides!

A few pics from the recent stadium tour organised by the Watford Museum people. Stadium tours.. now there's an idea!

I hadnt realised there was a bust of the GT statue..

Activity wall is the sensory. Well i presume it's there and not in the dressing room!

Severed head Harry's in the sensory room. Note also the reflection of the window mural which you can obviously see in certain light conditions.

It would have been more unusual for the floor to yield, beanbag like, to the backsides.

  5. Stevohorn

Maybe they were previously sat on the beanbags in the pic i posted above? Hence the look on Harry's face(s)

Certainly, an unusual expression on Harry's face.

And an unusual face, even more bearlike & less hornet like.

They should have a realistic Harry with proper Hornet head. See the Junior Hornets running for their lives. That'd be hilarious!

Anyone else owned a Harry Hornet inflatable? The club shop one in the late 80s was shockingly bad. No wonder I took the skeleton to games instead that my picture is from

Zaha would cower in the dugout.

I can't quite make out the detail of the skeleton but it is worn out of the house.

I'd be genuinely interested in going on a stadium tour, but I think the question was asked on one of those 'at your place' events, with the answer being that the club wasn't interested (presumably not cost effective).

It's a shame, as that would be the best chance that somebody like me would have to see all of the new posh stuff the club has built over the past few years.

Anybody on here eaten in any of the fancy new restaurants? Sadly out of my price range:(.

Could just do them on one off occasions.. or once a week or something. Get some of the old players in to take people around, so they could earn a few bob out of it.

I should have posted about the Watford Museum tour. It was part of their 'heritage day' event. I'll let you now if there any more planned.

Surely a once a month stadium tour. Throw in some extras. Fill up each tour. Must be worth it

Just looking on the FGG at the clubs that do stadium tours.
You can take regular tours at Burnley, Brighton, Wolves, Fulham, Everton, Southampton.. plus all the big stadiums of course. You can even get tours at Millwall, QPR, Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday. We certainly have enough to see to have tours at Vic Road.

I did one in 1999 as part of a corporate hospitality evening with my then employer, Hilton Hotels (hq just behind the junction).

Of the 80 or so on the Christmas bash, maybe 5 took the tour.

At the ‘This is Anfield’ spot in the tunnel ours said Mind Your Head (with hazard warning stripes).

Magical even if the Trophy Suite was off limits (owing to security issues/health & safety/out of office hours/absence of trophies).

Mind Your Head obviously an initimidatory taunt for our opposition in the Dave Basset era .

    It certainly wasn’t tika taka.

The tunnel ceiling was quite at that point but I would have torn down the sign & hoped my centre halves were quick learners.

I would have thought that it would be viable to do in the morning of match days.

What's the latest on our new stadium?

One of my sources has suggested we have an agreement to lease land just off the A41 near Aldenham and are planning to build a "160k mega stadium for the ages". His words, not mine.

While I have always been an advocate of building mega stadia in Hertfordshire, the question is could Watford seriously fill 160k, and has Gino considered this?

Hopefully my source will have more info in the coming years.

Most tours dont operate on matchday. Presumably because of all the match preparations needed it's dificult logistically.

This is the industrial estate opposite the reservoir? I seem to remember this being spoken about when the Pozzos first took us over - it's a complete non-starter because of the pisspoor infrastructure/travel links. Unless all the fans are flown to Elstree aerodrome then ferried across the reservoir by hovercraft direct to the stadium. No, no I've got - Aldenham reservoir should become Hertfordshire's first sea-plane port...

Yes....in 1993. Today is a trip down memory lane for me. I went to this as well, and bumped into Nigel Gibbs in a fish & chip shop on the way home......very bizarre.

I remember we won the Sheriff of London Charity shield in 1983. Graham Taylor even played in this match. He came on and deliberately gave away a penalty. We beat Corinthian Casuals 6-1. He ordered Steve Sherwood to stand outside of his goal to let them score an open goal penalty, but the referee was having none of it. So GT told him to just stand still and let it in, which he duly did.

I remember the trophy used to be on display in the ticket office.

That ended 0-0. I bumped into Paul Atkinson in Cyprus and he told me all about that match...….he'd had a few by then but revealed a few interesting stories about that tour.

Was going to mention this. The last time I saw it, it was precariously placed on top of a stack of papers on top of a filing cabinet.

It looked like it would topple off at any moment. Presumably it did and we broke it hence the trophy Gods took away our chance of winning the Championship as punishment.

This is one thing Real Madrid do better than us.

No filing cabinets, no stack of papers.

Custom made displays in what I would describe as a trophy complex.
