  1. I suspect that if you are not providing enough disabled seats, or filling those you have, it will be taken to be the case that you do not wish to fill them, and/or are not doing enough to solicit or encourage their use.

If we had disabled places that could double up for non-disabled places, and frequently/constantly were used as non-disabled places, we would soon be accused of favouring places you could sell at full cost, rather than promoting the intended free/reduced cost use amongst people of the community.

It is a simple answer, but not an obvious one.

We could play a pre season friendly against L***n. That would create more disabled Watford supporters, and then we could fill all the spaces.

Problem is it would also produce more empty spaces where seats used to be, reducing capacity further.

Plus we've already been named as one of the clubs not reaching the disabled places quota.

I suspect this new ruling on percentage of disabled places is pretty strict on having permanent wheelchair areas. Those sort of rulings usually are inflexible.

I don't see the issue with all those disabled seats when half of the Vic end is empty every week.

  6. We'd need to put a very large window in the front of the away end so they can have something to lick

They can smash the glass shop we have. That will look good on a hooligan highlight compilation of 'Watford fans v Luton fans' on Youtube.

Empty with no shows i would say. If you check for tickets nearing the game you rarely see anything other than the single seats available.

Picture taken 12 days ago showing the Sensory Room and Hospitality area surrounded by scaffolding. Anybodies guess what it was for:

A very sensible and obvious suggestion! Best I could think of was they were maybe changing the crowd picture/mural on the glass.

Your suggestion is as good as mine.. and they'd most likely have a simpler solution to window cleaning than putting up scaffolding. Squeegee on a long pole type thing?

That mural thing is intriguing. Cant get me head around how it's see thru one side and not the other!

Steve Harrison is going to recreate his most famous manouvre as a tribute to GT before the Sampdoria match.

Looks like new advertising is going to mounted on top of the stand again. It was a really ugly Bulldog banner before.

I think it’s new floodlights. If you look at what the groundsmsn has just posted on twitter the roof of the taylor stand looks a right mess!

Wow! Are we going floodlight-less in the corners in the long term?

  22. Couldn't they at least space them equally along the roof?

Being a bit OCD it's driving me nuts looking at the photos

They're not floodlights but a devious hologram system that will project 3D images of pies at vital stages of games to get Troy in the right position. Or possibly females for Andre to slap up.

They're very ugly lights aren't they?

They look like they're left over from a prisoner of war camp or railway marshalling yard.

I hope they'll all switch on with a loud, audible SNAP! noise and be accompanied by a wailing siren.

A closeup of your picture shows the changes that have been made for the additional disabled spaces at the back of the lower GT at the expense of the bar behind it:

Said bar looks like it was probably drunk dry before it was removed by the people who installed those floodlights.

I expect the extra ones in the middle are to compensate for the fact that we already have floodlights at the corners. Probably required for extra extra HD Tv. Hopefully one positive of the extra wheelchair space and loss of the captains bar will be that you will be able to walk the full length of the concourse on the Lower GT from Vicarage Road to rookery end

I think that's the old floodlights that were once on the Shrodells stand. The club must have kept them in storage all this time!

Actually i quite like the look of them.. adds a sense of drama. Though i'd agree on the spacing.

Some of our ugly players are going to look even uglier this coming season on Sky.

Lets just hope the new lights can't cast on the majority of our fans.

    Few things from today......

The additional floodlights are all around the stadium, not just the GT stand. Though it seemed to me they didn't look so haphazard in the flesh as they do in the pictures:

The mystery of the scaffolding in the corner the other day has been partially solved - they've removed all the glass windows from the upper floor. Perhaps they were all cracked, or they're changing the design somehow? You can just make out the missing glass in this pic:

I also took a walk round the back of the GT stand to see the completed upgrade to the directors entrance. It looks decent, prob better than it does in these pics:

A lot of them were Sampdoria officials - as I was mooching about round there, taking the pics, they were all speaking Italian as they got out of the cars. Unless they were all relatives of Gino......?!

Probably to focus on our eminent midfielders whilst leaving our less able defenders & attackers suitably anonymous in the shadows.
