You'd rather lose 9-0, cementing our place in the record books as absolutely sh1te, than narrowly lose a game we probably deserve to win? Our fans get more moronic by the day.

Didnt deserve to loose that today. I thought QPR where pretty poor in fairness bar a couple of their forward players, but still a draw would have been a fair result.

The game was too open and end to end from the start, our midfield had little control on the game and seemed to be sitting far too deep. One positive at least today was that the team showed enough character to effectively come back from a goal down three times (yes, i know the 3rd was wrongly disallowed). That wouldnt have happend last season, we would have just gone on to concede more.

Edwards needs to pick a formation and stick with it rather than chopping and changing every game

Having watched the two goals back since getting home, I'm not sure JP's goal would have been ruled out. From the angle of the replay he doesnt seem to do too much wrong, there wasnt a noticeable push in the back on the QPR player who goes down very easily - and then deliberately handles the ball which perfectly sets up Pedro to score.

As for our 3rd goal, its hard to see who was given offside. There was certainly no one in an offside position when the shot is taken so the assumption must be the offide was for the original cross into the box but again Sarr doesnt look offside and it must have been incredibly close if he was - and even then the lino didnt flag until the goal went in.

In regards to Sarr I would agree with this. Pedro was always planned to stay and a be a part of things or atleast that was the impression I got from the club in preseason before the whole Newcastle transfer saga started. Sarr on the other hand was slated to go along with Dennis, it was why they where left out of our preseason tour I thought.

Maybe a point would have been fair, but at the same time, we've already ridden our luck a few times this season, so I guess this is balancing it out. As for Edwards, I kind of get what you are saying, but a lot of us spent most of the West Brom game calling for him to change things up, and now we've got to a point (a poiny where we have no idea what our squad will look like in a week's time, and where we're still without viable options in key areas) where people are calling for him to stick to one formation

Coming from the person who predicted us to get relegated in mid season 20/21 when it was mathematician impossible , and we went onto to come 2nd .

Or it's a shocking indictment of how bad our other defenders were?

It is a difficult balancing act tbf, because Sarr's best position is definitely as a right winger, but 3 years on, and we're still not quite sure on JP, we think it's as a #10, but he's not really played there much for us! Regardless of formation, it seems Edwardsball is definitely about wing-backs bombing forward, for which you need a back 3, but if you play a back 3, you're almost certainly going to be playing a formation which sacrifices either wingers or a number 10. It's not like under Xisco where 4-3-3 was definitely the way forward, because although Kiko was best in the opposition half, Masina was much more of a defensive left-back!

He was captain because he is the only player who has been at the club for more than 5 minutes that plays in a central area. This, again, comes down to poor recruitment. I swear Poxbury don't even consider the mentality of players before they sign them.

For the record, if it were up to me, I'd play this when everyone is fit:
    Bachmann
    Hause Sierralta (New signing)

    Kamara Choudhury Louza (New signing)

    JP

    Davis Sarr

Whether we are going to play that regularly I don't know, I know Edwards has spoken about utilising Sarr as a winger so I doubt it, even if it was the formation he used at FGR

Apparently we are only after one more player though? Hopefully Poxbury have looked at today and realised this squad is below standard. Lessons learned and all that.

That is true. I do not deny it, unlike other members on this forum.
I did say that we would be relegated last season and we were. So it is 1-1.
Let's see how it goes. I say that we are too slow in possession and too easy to play against.
When teams know that you have no real goalscorer or a decent forward they will push up and squeeze the play.
QPR did this with ease and they were close to the bottom of the league.
I felt that QPR could have scored at will and they knew it.
Edwards has a tough job now. Defeat against Boro and all confidence from our somewhat dull, but fruitfiul start will evaporate. If so, Edwards will be looking over his shoulder.
We need 3 or 4 players in before the close of the transfer window.
Ship out Gaspar, Okoye, Bayo, Kalu, Cleverley and Manaj before September 1st.
We don't have any money, so it will have to be loan deals only.
We can't use the £15m Gino has borrowed from his Father. This money is to keep the club going.

All depends on outgoings doesn't it? Besides, I don't think that was set in stone, merely something Andrew French suggested he had heard, I think it may change if a good (ie cheap) opportunity pops up. I think RCB and RWB are the most important areas we need to invest in (we have an excellent striker waiting to come back, and several good midfielders, some of whom are injured), but if you were to push me, I'd say RWB is more important

Not suggesting we're flush with cash, but how do we know every penny of the Kamara deal is simply to keep the club going? We know some of it is to finance the final Sarr instalment (£5m I think), how do we know what the other £11m is for?

Great spot. I lived there for about 3 years during my late teens, selling ice cream on the beach and surfing almost every day.

Beautiful beach, and loads of great spots nearby to catch a decent session. Have a good one!

Only bright spark yesterday was the youthful enthusiasm of Asprilla. Poor farker must be wondering what he's let himself in for

Thought our left side was poor again yesterday, two of the goals came down that side including the shambles of a winner with no Watford player near Adomah.

Gaspar is giving Danny Rose vibes and we are continuously losing the midfield battle. Thought Manaj was bright and caused QPR problems, was a shame to see him go off. Asprilla is going to be a star, that was the first time I've seen him live and he was dancing through the defences pinging balls about.

Pedro was superb and got a lovely assist for Ken. Sarr was ineffective but that was to be expected when he had 2-3 players on him at all times.

The lack of playing style is a bit of a worry but I'm sure it will be remedied by the end of the window.

One of the first filmed training sessions with Edwards was a wingback->inside forward ->line breaking pass->striker move at pace. Yet with Asprilla, Sarr and Pedro on the pitch we had no supply that put them in an overload situation against slow defenders. I suspect the players don't have the language skills to understand Edwards/Kyle (I can't half the time!), but for whatever reason the coaching is not reaching the pitch.

The guy who offered them out was a bell end though. It's the Family Stand.

There was a family in thr 1st or 2nd row whose kids were clearly upset by it from where I was sitting.

As a father to react like that to something in another stand is pathetic. What if some of the Rangers fans had surged down through the stand to get to him? How many other people could have been hurt? So he can show what a big man he is?

Having been to the hockey at the Commonwealth games recently, it was Stark to see why football fans are treated as such children (segregated, no booze etc) compared to other sports. This is why.

He was allowed back into the stand, seemingly Scott free, which, given the people who were alerting the stewards to the ill person in the away end the other week were seemingly ejected, was a poor showing.

I hope the club identified him and takes some follow up action. Even if it's just a ban for a game or two. He needs to reflect on his behaviour.

So far this season we’ve hardly played consistently well in any match, chopped and changed formations, made some quite surprising starting selections, mystified many with our choices of captains, not always been quick or smart with our use of substitutes, looked knackered as matches progress, and managed to win only two of our seven games so far, scoring less than a goal on average each time.

Yet it’s everybody and everything’s fault but the coaching team.

    Hmm.

Wish I had that kind of job.
