Maybe in the 80s. Now it would just mean that one of walking liabilities would have to negotiate 85 mins on a yellow card!
Shouldn't be. This is Watford. We know the Watford way, it's fate. If we are staying up then we will lose against West Ham - Fluke a draw against Man City where VAR makes a rare controversial error in our favour, and then some unlikely figure like Gray scores a fluke goal in the 90th minute against Arsenal of his arse to secure the vital point. This is my expectation. Anything else doesn't phase me.
Already waving my half-a-yellow-carrier-bag-on-a-plastic-stick flag from the cup final and will carry on all the way to the Championship. #proudofthelads #happyjusttobehere
Am I right in remembering you've posted about the spread betting markets on here before? How do they see the likely points we and others will get by the end of the season?
Win this and we are probably safe. Draw and we may well be safe Lose and it will be loose stool time. I suspect all will be settled by Tuesday
In Cape Cod at the moment. West Ham vs Watford is not normally a game I would sacrifice holiday time for but I haven't got it in me to not watch today. It's a horrible addiction. 3pm ko here so plenty of time to drink before and then drown my sorrows afterwards. . Let's hope they roll over like Toon did in the second half and we can pretend we are any good again.
In terms of straight odds, both Muff and Villa are long odds on (1/5, 1/6) to go down. Watford next best at 7/2, which is quite tempting as an emotional hedge.
i couldn’t agree more. Also when actually there I feel I am able to assist the ref and lines people with their decision making By making helpful comments.
I agree with you wholeheartedly on that. Can’t bear to watch on TV but can’t bear to miss anything if I’m actually there (also never come back to my seat late after half time). Such is the contradiction of being a football fan.
We'll all look back and laugh when we realise we already had enough points to stay up when we beat Norwich.
The biggest game of the season, and dare I say it, biggest game since Palace in 2013 at Wembley. This game is more or less a playoff final in itself: winners will be a Premier League team next season and the losers will, unless Bournemouth AND Villa fail to win again this season, begin next season in the Championship. I would say this is far bigger than Man City in the final last May. We all knew what was going to happen that day, whereas this has far more unpredictability about it. Antonio always scores against us so he will definitely get at least one. I really want 8 o'clock to come now and I really don't at the same time. I hate football
West Ham 38 Watford 36.5 Bournemouth 33.75 Villa 33 These are mid prices so you need to adjust by 0.5 for buy or sell.
According to Opta's model we have a 79% chance of staying up... https://twitter.com/Matt_Furniss/status/1284068589671264257?s=20
Right pooing myself now. Don't even want to watch tonight if they don't at least put in a bit of a fight
Well yes. But if you sell at 36 and we win tonight you are already a point in the muck with more potential pain to come with matches against a disinterested City and inconsistent Arsenal. And all that to try and win 2 points. Seems about right. For the pessimists I'd rather just back West Ham tonight or the 7/2 to go down you mentioned earlier.
I won a free home shirt from Sportsbet.io from last week. It arrived today. I'll be at home wearing it as we see off the Danny Dyer cockernee chancers 2-1.
Is the game on TV? I can't see it on the tv guide. Thanks. Doh, just found it on sky. I was looking in the Radio Times.
It's so volatile with so few games to go. If we lose tonight our mid price drops to 35.25 perhaps, things tighten up and the chance of staying up drops below 50% I think?
No one can be in any doubt that the game tonight will be a delight for the eyes and that ultimately football will emerge the winner.
Right sod it, in our time of need I'll head to the bog again at some point tonight. I'll literally put my a*se on the line again one last time.
This. It’s not like the rest of the Country gives a toss about this game. If it was Muff vs West Ham I’d be watching Gogglebox.
