Biggest game of our Premier League history. Relegation has always either been inevitable for months, or we've been safe for months in previous seasons. Luckily, we have our bunch of lion-hearted badge kissers to storm the London stadium, get in the trenches and go to war. Hopefully Pereyra will play, seems like the kind of guy you want in this situation.
As nervous as I am about it, you would have given a limb away at the end of November to be in this position. This is the table just before we played Man Utd the Sunday before Christmas... https://www.11v11.com/league-tables/premier-league/21-december-2019/
I've prepared a selection of appropriate beverages for all outcomes: champagne, whisky, beer, methadone, cynanide and hemlock. Up to Troy and his goons to decide which one it is.
I think the last 2 results papered over the cracks. Hope I'm wrong but I think the optimism will quickly fade when we are hoofing it up to an injured Deeney while Antonio is looking like he'll score every time West Ham come forward. Bowen worries me too. Think it would be the perfect game for an unknown quality like Pedro to surprise them, but can't see that happening.
For some reason which I cannot explain, I am more confident about tonight’s game than I have been for any of the previous fixtures since the restart.
Same - I bizarrely feel I can influence the game when I am actually there, but watching on TV feels helpless (and usually hopeless)
I posted the other day that I find in unbearable watching the game on the TV and even contemplated going for a walk after we took the lead against Norwich. Strangely I am not feeling as nervous about this one today even though I know its a massive game. Maybe its because I actually have some hope for tonight and the fact I think Bournemouth will get beat by Southampton on Sunday and Villa's defence won't cope with Arsenal. Saying this I will probably be bricking it come 8 o'clock tonight but for now I am more excited than anything. On a side note, I am probably the only person who thinks this but I quite like the drinks breaks because they are perfect for my drinking pattern, have a pint before, finish it for the first drinks break quickly grab another, swift one at half time repeat it second half.
At least this isn’t on a school night so I can drink my body weight in cider to hopefully take the edge off what will likely be a depressing sh*t show.
I've convinced myself we'll lose 2-0 tonight, with Antonio and Bowen scoring. Anything better than this will now be a bonus. (I didn't have to use much effort to convince myself we'd lose)
I thought we would beat Newcastle, had a great feeling about it before hand. This game has draw written all over it.
That's what I see. I believe the pressure is more on West Ham tbh than us which seems odd considering. But we need to start the game with the same intensity as the second half against Newcastle. Do that and we will get something out of the game.

I will probably of had about ten before its even kicked off. Will be the only hornet in the pub surrounded by plastic hammers fans.
In recent games we've made Mark Noble look like Iniesta so if we could stop doing that I'd much appreciate it. Can we deal with Antonio? Probably not. I think Ben Foster is going to need one of his worldie evenings when our defenders inevitably mess up.
I know what you mean, but I can't miss an important match even if it is agony. Same as leaving before the end and missing two goals in a stoppage-time fightback.
It's just occurred to me that when I have watched we've lost and when I haven't we've drawn or won. Where shall I go? I'll be far too nervous to eat. Wretched.
I can’t remember who said they get more nervous watching matches on TV than when they’re actually at the match, but I agree. Also find I feel slightly less miserable if I simply see from the scoreline that we’re losing, than if I see it happening on the box. I therefore can’t face watching it tonight. I shall be drinking a stiff g&t and keeping everything crossed that I am missing a historic Watford win.
Not sure if I was the one who posted that but that is the exact description of me. I've tried to watch all the games involving us or the the other sides down the bottom but I find myself turning them off and going for a walk. I have not enjoyed watching football less in my life and I saw us in the early 90's. I will probably watch the first half tonight at work and then turn it off and start praying. This has been horrible
No, you are not the only person who thinks that
They are great when watching at home to get another drink and make room for it. I hope they are stopped when we attend games though as they will be really annoying in the stadium.
It almost makes it worse that we've got ourselves in a position to actually stay up. At least if we had carried on like we started it would be over now. Please god let us win tonight
No, you are not the only person who thinks that
Must have just seemed that way listening to Carragher giving it yammer about it.
With the current round of matches over, I have decided, along with others, that Watford can't afford to come away empty handed tonight.
DeeKnee as a Wet Spam blogger quoted. Dawson or Capoue need to put Antonio into orbit within the first 5 minutes that will quieten him down.
Everyone going on like Antonio is Lionel Messi, he has scored 8 goals this season admittedly 4 in his last game against an awful defence that had completely lost hope. He scored a grand total of 6 last season, definitely less of a threat than Allan Saint-Maximin.
