What was VAR looking at for their goal? Because if it was handball against Alli, then we can have no complaints. He did throw his left arm out a bit but the ball definitely struck his left collarbone. No handball.

What did Deulofeu do wrong lol? One chance he handled badly, it didn’t curve back into the corner but what else? He was a big threat on the counter and it was his pace that made Spurs defence hesitate. A lot of the service to him was poor too.

I don't know what to say....

We should be celebrating a win, we should be slapping fans on the back and hugging QSF. We haven't won. But, we didn't lose.
Most of us expected to lose that - I did too - but we did defend very, very well. Until Kiko Femina came on. Foster shouts - the ball
bounced "over" him because dumb @ss Kiko cannot understand a simple instruction and get out of his way.

But screw that really, because it was a clear shoulder/arm hit. Ali has saved spurs there - and VAR has cost us two vital points. We would of been bottom
had we won still, and we claw a point closer to 19th but I feel absolutely sick. Let's say the VAR thing doesn't happen... what was Kiko doing there in the first
place? Lean simple positioning and then get out of the side until you do. I really cannot blame the commitment to the cause today. We were decent for a change.

And what about the Delafoo penalty? Not sure - but people say he played it a bit. Cannot be certain, maybe somebody can clarify. QSF set us up well today - the game
plan was working, until we got screwed over by VAR and/or Kiko.

It's a point - not a loss. We have Bournemouth next, we have to win. Hopefully the commitment and performance can carry us to a much needed win. We played well today,
we should of won. We were cheated.

Gutting, great performance marred by shocking mistake at the end. However I’m completely in awe of how incompetent the implementation of VAR has been. It’s a legitimate disgrace and I cannot believe that a game with millions of pounds on the line has allowed a total shambles like this to take place every week unchallenged.

Very disappointing to drop 2 points there. Could be useful point come the end of the season.

Doucoure and Pereyra a both looked a lot better than recent performances. If they can keep that up we stand a chance. Overall a much better shape, we did create chances (some poor finishing again), and didn't give away as many chances as we possibly expected. Son coming on made them much more dangerous.

A silly defensive mistake as ever, but those two VAR decisions are shocking. VAR technology is not the problem - both were clear on a quick review of the video.

It was an absolute stone bonk penalty. As clear as day. I haven't heard one person, including Spurs supporters, say it wasn't or even that there was any doubt about it.

How can they review that and then say 'no'? There must surely be something more to it than a mistake. How can you mistake that?

We haven’t been great this year, but the VAR decision today and at Newcastle has cost us 4 points. 8:points from 9 games would not be a disaster.

Yes, the tech isn't the issue here. It's the way it is being used.

Most football fans seem to be looking at it like a man who lent someone his lawnmower only to see them use it upside-down.

Tbh, I thought it hit Ali's shoulder from the two times, I've seen it. I think the arm starts at the narrow bit at the bottom of the shoulder muscle, short of horizontal from the armpit, and I think the ball hit above that.

Jesus that was a nailbiting watch.

Got to be happy with a point away at Spurs considering our run of form. I thought that there were a lot of positives to take from that for once. So frustrating we couldn't hold out to the end, but it was coming, let's be honest.

Var had an absolute howler. Stonewall penalty for Gerard, if we're fair then Spurs had a decent shout turned down too later on, and that big-screen mix-up for their goal.

Defending in an organised fashion... Doucoure playing like his old self... an identifiable game plan and an overall steeliness to the team. We're on the right path - but we desperately need points! Immediately!

Special mention of Cleverley who I thought had a great game. Chalobah looked off the pace but good to see him complete 90.

Foster no longer inspires the confidence he once did, and Femenia has been immensly uninspiring this season. Janmaat much better. Shame about Welbeck.

    Got to win next week.

Absolutely gutted, but must be seen as a massive positive in terms of performance. Foster/Kiko disaster and these weaklings need to be replaced when possible. However Quique seems to be moving in the correct direction. We need a win so badly though.

4 points lost due to VAR this season. We'd be out the relegation zone if VAR was working as intended. Rage inducing.

Screwed over by the officials again. That's 6-0 in VAR decisions against us.....oh well. It's to be expected, so no surprise Ali's handball goal is given and Deulofeu's penalty was not given. All officials know we've had our penalty quota for this season, so more can be given until 2020/21 season.

So a draw at Spurs sounds decent enough, but it's not. We have to take our opportunities when they come along, no matter which game they occur in. It feels like another defeat.

Had we gone for it against Sheff United, and won, and lost this one, we'd still be a point better off.

We need wins.....and lots of them. Yes, we've been shafted by officials, but we all know that will always be the case. We've got to make better decisions up front when good chances come along, then even those ****s in black cannot deny you victory.

Sounds like their goal was a big **** from Kiko anyway, so it was largely self-inflicted.

Only 4 points from 9 games is pathetic.

Still, it looks like we're better organised now, and clearly the players are still trying.....but honestly, with everything constantly going against us, this relegation fight is futile, unless we can somehow find a couple of back-to-back wins from somewhere.

I honestly dont know where the cut off point is. So you could be right. The deulofeu foul though was.
    99.9% a foul.

I think the FA would say 99.9% is not enough. Needs to be 100% wrong before we overturn it.

Just read Kabs and Doucoure's post match comments - both very sincere and said we should of won - but we must take our chances.
They feel gutted, but take the point and must move on to a M U S T win game next week.

Four points VAR has cost us this season. A shame as we looked half decent today. We have got to take our chances when they are presented but we don't I think so far this season our conversion rate has been about 3%. The officials have done us in today but we still need to be more clinical.

Section 12.11. This means that the Alli goal should not have stood. Obviously the VAR officials have a differing understanding of anatomy. They are clowns and may as well come into the booths with big red noses and oversized boots. Shockingly bad.

I heard the VAR official told the referee to disallowed it, but he overruled the VAR decision. If that's correct, then there has to be some kind of investigation as to why he did this.

He heard ….."hisssss…...goal".....instead of "no goal". Problem with the radio.

No doubt it will all be swept under the carpet, Dermot Gallagher will make some excuse why it was a correct call, and no one will care because it's only Watford.

This is what makes football so gut-wrenching. It doesn't seem to make any difference if you play a god match, as it will be taken away by the officials. VAR has done absolutely nothing to improve the game. It has taken away more than it has given.

I'm all for VAR, but the way it's being used is just ridiculous.

All of the defensive organization and commitment in the world is basically pointless when you’re putting out players who just aren’t good enough to implement the plan.

Their goal was an absolute disgrace to concede. We can analyze the VAR decision regarding handball all day long, but the reality is it should never have come down to that. Foster HAS to clean up in that situation. Kiko should have attacked the ball before it bounced, but once he’d let it drop, Foster has to clear out anyone and everyone to claim that ball.

Losing a couple of important players to muscle strains is possibly a consequence of the poor work done in pre-season, especially when Femenia is one of the players who come on. He’s utterly broken as a football player. Confidence wrecked. He’s a liability out there.

There are some positives to take though. Defensive organization was clear and we defended with a purpose, with commitment, and as a unit. Dawson was solid and looked more comfortable with people either side of him who can defend. Kabasele defended with real intensity and led the back line in a way we’ve been sorely lacking.

Doucoure looked more comfortable being asked to press and win the ball high, then break into space, rather than playing as a deep playmaker. He was very good today.

Cleverley was good, and sets the tone for our pressing. He’s limited on the ball, but he’s somebody you want in our current situation.

90 minutes for Chalobah is great, and he didn’t look particularly off the pace physically or mentally. A positive step forward for Nate and hopefully he can build on it by putting together a run of games.

It’s absolutely gutting to come away with only a point, despite the positives. We have to win next week, because although we’re playing with more purpose and belief, it won’t last long if we keep on failing to win.

Final word for VAR. Absolutely pointless if they are going to back the ref in almost every situation. Clear as day penalty for us missed today. Absolutely disgusting implementation of VAR.

Femenia used to suffer from an extreme lack of confidence so much so that he nearly stopped playing due to anxiety. Whilst he's been a ******* liability, what we're doing putting him out there isn't fair as he's clearly not ok.

Good performance, **** the FA, up the orns.

Much Much better, but we had enough clear cut chances to be out of site before Ali scored

2 clear errors by VAR, that's 4 points now that would not only lift us up to 18th but seriously boost our
    confidence

Seen enough in the last two games to say that we are going to be OK, we might just scrape over the line, but we'll be ok

The two things are linked though, the entire concept is flawed. Whenever you make policy you have to consider the way in which it will be implemented. Because football is run by idiots they just decided to implement it because they thought “more VAR = fewer mistakes”. The whole point of it being brought in was reduce the number of mistakes. But all that VAR has done has created new opportunities for different mistakes and inconsistencies which never existed before. There is no possible way of using the technology which would change this with the exception of using it to solve binary decisions like goal line technology or turning ambiguous decisions into binary ones (giving a penalty every time it hits a defender’s arm in the box for for example) which would totally change the fabric of the game. At the very best you end up with a situation where the inconsistencies within VAR are roughly in line with regular mistakes make by referees but then what’s the point? The fact that it was decided to just use it anyway considering all of the problems it would create just defies belief.
