Im pretty sure it would be the same light hearted guffaw. Also. QSF is right about a foul from Kane on Kabasele.
A penalty would have been awarded. That is clear. Had we scored the type of goal Spurs scored it would have been disallowed. After the weekend has passed it will never be spoken about ever again, and everyone (apart from Watford fans) will forget about the incidents. The general opinion would change to Spurs should have won and Watford were fortunate to come away with a point.
Anyone know what happened to Janmaat. The thought of Kiko playing against Muff, is not doing it for me.
Hawkeye brief statement on Twitter: I presume they’re referring to the Deulofeu ‘no penalty’ graphic?
You are spot on. The officials in our country are a toxic mix of incompetence and arrogance. Of course they are going to arrogantly back each other’s ineptitude time and time again. The entire squad of referees should be purged and we start again.
Let’s say it flashed up “no goal” for Liverpool, Chelsea or Utd. Front page news. An inquiry and change. happens to us. Linekar says something’s hit about us, blows over
Silly little boy. As you're clearly incredibly immature you probably think slagging off players like that is hilarious, when in reality you just sound like you have nothing between the ears. I'd suggest Twitter, you can swear to your heart's content on there and you can even swear directly at your targeted player!
Quite possibly. There is so much evidence of what the refs' agenda is now though that a 'big six intervervention' shouldn't be required. The most important people in football are the fans who attend matches. The refs' cabal are taking the p.ss.
Would have taken a point before the game but were so close to 3 and denied a penalty.. So a sense of frustration. Very organised and solid performance with Doucoure outstanding alongside Chalobah . Shame to see Welbeck get injured but the front 2 did well. Defence looked very comfortable- the one mistake cost us though. Positive day - need to get a few wins now .
Three favourite things heard in the Tottenham End today "Fosters you Aussie ****" "We are getting beat by a **** team that is missing its best player Deeney" "City would've ****ed this lot for 9 by now
I walked back to the station with a few Spuds fans. As we were waiting for the train, showed them the replay on my phone. Every single one of them agreed it was a penalty, zero dissenting views, all said they got away with one. How is this acceptable? As soon as Vertonghen lifted his foot and wrapped it round Deulofeu, it was a foul. No debate, no clear and obvious consideration needed, just a foul. Total horseshit from the officials.
We are 9 games into the season and already we’ve had SIX VAR decisions go against us and NONE for. So yes, total horseshit from officials, but then we all knew it would be this way.
Agreed. Not one for the conspiracy theories usually but we are getting ****ed time and time again by VAR. A clear, clear penalty not given, and a handball for the winning goal allowed. It's total nonsense and actually makes things worse as you expect it to make things fairer.
Getting to the point where I'd back us just walking off the pitch. That penalty decision is worse every time you see it. He slides next to Deulofeu (who is probably going nowhere) but then inexplicably decides to lift his foot up and wrap it round Deulofeu's leg and trip him up. It's a scandalous decision, cannot see what else you could possibly see to make you think something else happened. Also, completely agree with Quique - clear foul on Kabasele by Kane just before the equaliser. One player looking at the ball and trying to head it, the other never interested in challenging, just going for a two handed shove.
The one thing it's doing, which I expected, is making it easier to spot the unfair decisions and you can measure them. In the past there was always the excuse the referee had missed something, as it was in real time. Now that's gone and there's no excuses for these mistakes. It's a clear as day now, but we're still getting shafted, week after week. It only seems to happen when the score is tight as well, to maximise the effect I suppose.
I'm not a conspiracy theorist and don't have a persecution complex, but HB1 is right, VAR is providing firm evidence that we're getting a raw deal. Will the refs or powers-that-be recognise this and correct it, or will they let it carry on? Disclaimer: I didn't go to the match and haven't yet seen the footage, but I trust the posters who did. If I disagree, I'll tell you after MOTD.
Yep, a decent performance overall and a point is more than I expected. My anger lays mainly with the pathetic, useless officials today. And Femenia.
VAR literally just exists to rubber stamp whatever decision the referee makes - good, bad, or indifferent. The reluctance to overturn a decision which would show an error by an on-field referee is frightening. They seem happy to make out that a separate entity called VAR is the villain when they are the real problem.
Yep. Apparently they've only overruled one subjective decision all season. The referees union are liars, it's all about backing your mates up rather than getting to the right decisions.
It's the ultimate CYA tool. "VAR didn't overrule" will be the immediate defense for any poor decision now. They don't even need to try anymore. If I misused a tool like VAR in the way these idiots have when performing my job, I'd be fired. It's ludicrous, and the misuse goes well beyond the awful decisions we get. Other clubs are seeing awful decisions to (albeit I'm not sure if any club has had anywhere near the number of result altering failures that we have). The decisions are largely coming back in a timely fashion now. The problem is the mandate they've been given.
