This should be a no brainer. However, I find myself disliking Everton so much that it's made me think twice. I think it would be funny if the self styled big 7 team was non premier league in time for their new stadium.

I do feel guilty for doubting the answer should be lu#on and suspect this doubt makes me an inherently bad person. I try to reconcile this by thinking they are going down anyway (like BHS) so delaying it a season may hurt them more.

Everton have had their penalty and have the momentum to stay up, if they achieve that they deserve it!

Well, Luton have performed admirably, despite their lack of money. The only reasons not to like them are local tradition and their horrible fans. Nevertheless I'm always glad to see them lose even when they don't deserve it.

Everton is an incompetently run club with massively entitled fans. The only reason to like them is Sean Dyche, and he's done a great job there.

The teams I'd like to see go down with Luton are Palace (Hodgson) and Bournemouth (horrible fans who deserve retribution, and I can't forget the Howe era even though Adam Smith is the only really obnoxious player still there).

Both, but that will never happen as Burnley and Sheff United are just too ****, plus I think Dyche will get Everton to finish quite comfortably midtable, for me I think Brentford or Palace would be the more likely contenders to go down, although my picks would still be the three that are in the zone atm.

I’ve always liked Everton - purely because they are not Liverpool.

I don't have a problem with Everton and I think most fans' (by now) have perhaps gotten over the Everton-Gate scandal with Silva. Yes they poached our players' as well but they are generally more likable that Klopp's LiVARpool side. Also, his grin creeps me out. Lootown as it currently stands, have a good chance of their season going either way. If they somehow do survive it will be their home form that keeps them up. Of course I want them to go down, and toothless Sheff Utd are looking the most likely to join them.

When I was in the 'Pool I was in the really 'odd' position of being 'adopted' by red and blue fans (I lived in Kirkdale which 'overlooks' Anfield and Goodison). The Reds because of Barnes and the Toffees because of the cup final.

Whenever Everton are mentioned my immediate thought is, it was definitely a foul on Sherwood. It's sad, I know, but this May it will be 40 years since I began hating them and their 5hitty fans. I look forward to watching them continue to stumble from one crisis to another for a few more years yet

Let's get this straight - the Scummers have not 'performed admirably'. They've stunk the place out. And there must be a thousand reasons not to like them. Here's a few off the top of my (sore) head. I'm sure others can add plenty more: - Plastic pitch, away fans ban, Brian Horton, Kenilworth Road, Mick Hartford, Kirk Stephens, David Evans, David Pleat, Wilf Rostron's red card, Bury Park, Vicarage Road pitch invasion, Steve Foster, Luton Outlaws, the Kohlerdome (tee hee!), the Bobbers Club, the Oak Road Stand, the fact that they won the League Cup in the 80s etc etc etc

    * A friend and I were in the stand, courtesy of the former MP for Welwyn and Hatfield, during the ban on away fans. We were celebrating Gary Porter's first goal. We were celebrating his second goal too,for that matter!

Yes, but they're all historical reasons why we hate them. Their rise from non-league to near-misses against the Prem elite is surely admirable. It shouldn't stop you hating them for historical and geographical reasons and for their obnoxious fans, as I said in my original post.

My New Year's resolution is to be more nit-picking and pedantic, so I'm sorry but the dictionary definition of admirable is 'having qualities that you admire and respect' - and they who shall not be named possess none of those.

The other end was the away end in those days - an open terrace. (Unless you were there incognito of course. ;))

You lot need to get over the 84 Cup Final and the Andy Gray foul. Even if it hadn't been given we wouldn't have scored if we were still playing 40 years later. We simply didn't turn up that day.
