The soul of the club has been lost, most of those players couldn’t care less about the club, and in turn it’s making me feel the same. Such a shame the direction the club has gone in. Pozzo needs to sort it out, but I’m sure he won’t. Circus to continue.

Well probably, but considering his record isn't much better probably (not sure what their exact records are but all of them got very few points in total) it wouldn't have made much of a difference. Also context is everything, he won against Aston Villa (who we beat at home under Xisco) and he drew against Burnley (and lost today in the home fixture) and against Manchester United (which we trashed at home under Ranieri). That's not to say the other two managers would have won 5 points from those two games, but those wins don't mean that Hodgson made us better in away games, or at least in my opinion. Southampton win, fair enough, but I find our away win against Everton under Ranieri more impressive (Everton were quite good before we played them and were close to Champions League football). Anyways, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I just think Hodgson was a poor appointment, and that he hasn't improved us in any way(potential marginal improvements in away performances or defence are pointless, because of the dross home form(6/6 losses) and the way he limited our attacking chances).

Best part of today was seeing an elderly gent, who used to sit next to me , pre pandemic, and I assumed had carked it , because I hadn't seen him since, sitting behind me today . Maybe he had given up his season ticket because of covid and only just felt good enough to return. But I am glad he is ok and in good health . Everything else is BS .
Maybe shooting from the hip a bit but are you aware of the debt that has been piled up? I have enjoyed the last few years but at the time I didn't think it was being achieved by putting the club at risk. Now I understand even the ground has been used to secure an enormous loan. When Simpson did something similar, there was a public outcry and soon the buckets were being rattled outside the gates for donations. No subs today and some players omitted from the squad, why? Maybe save our poor club from having to pay appearance money? I don't know on that but 'something' is very wrong at our beloved club and my experience (which is a little more than 12 years) tells me that as in any business, it's those at the top making the decisions and holding the purse strings who are to blame.
Pozzo just needs to sell up and leave, figures like Hodgson, Duxbury, Bayat etc. are all a distraction. Remember when the villain was Giraldi? What’s changed since he left? Nothing, if anything it’s gotten worse The rancid culture and keen jerk approach comes directly from the top
The Pozzo's have made many mistakes, but I am inclined to the "better the devil you know" school of thought. They have benefited from the kudos of being owners of a Premier League club, and they are probably feeling the relegation just as keenly as the rest of us. For all their faults, we are owned by "football people" - we might be lucky and end up with owners who we can respect and support, but we might just as easily end up with short termist assest strippers. Our average finishing position in the English football pyramid during the Pozzo era is 19th (coincidentally where we may finish this season). GT reckoned the club's long term ambition should be to maintain itself as a top 30 club.
Is Gino Pozzo a ‘football person’? He seems to **** about in the transfer market but that’s about it from what I can tell. Duxbury certainly isn’t a football person - not by trade, not by passion.
Gino has been called a football person quite a few times over the years. His recruitment of head coaches and players is rancid so I'm not entirely sure what it means.

It depends what price you’re prepared to pay for success! I know plenty of people who truly don’t care what division we are in as long as we are seeing a team of triers. The Pozzo’s have their perks and we’ve probably been a top 25 club (averaged out) in England for most their time here. But for some people the disconnect with players and manager churn is too heavy a cost, why does that make them 12 years old or open to insult? *Just seen V Crabo’s post about average being 19.
I was at the game and the supporters were great today. I think the players worked hard for the most part, but as the second half wore on, the momentum shifted, and subs were desperately needed. But, unbelievably, none were made, and then it was too late. How can you have a manager at this level who ignores what's happening on the pitch and just crosses his fingers and hopes it'll be alright? It was terrible game management. Imo Hodgson has been a dreadful appointment.
I never wish harm on a fellow human. But a career ending injury for Ashley Barnes would make the world a better place. Utter scum.
Of course, I do hope you're right. We are punching above our weight even in the Championship. What worries me is that as "football people" you would have thought Pozzo wouldn't have made the same mistakes as so many other clubs have done trying to keep the club in the top tier. Maybe Covid is a valid excuse because it was unforeseen but there again so was the collapse of ITV Digital (or whatever it was) under Simpson & Vialli. The bottom line is that for a club of our size we stretched too far and unfortunately appear to have done so again despite the obvious lessons of the past. I am surprised the owners did not seek a partner to help them carry the financial load but presumably they decided having total control was more important to them? Fingers crossed they learn from their mistakes?
Going to be difficult at the Everton game as desire to boo our hierarchy, awful manager and lily livered team will be strong. But on the other hand, they will ever so slightly redeem themselves if they send Everton down. So full throated support for Everton and both barrels for the other home game, can't even be arsed to look up who is is (Leicester?).
I think we should have a complete clear out of the playing staff as well as a clear out of backroom staff from top to bottom. I know that this is not possible, but we have been an embarrassment . We could end dropping like a stone once in the Championship. The players we have are of a poor quality. The fans are fed up the total rubbish on the pitch. The club has never been so far away with its connection with the fans. A CEO/Chairman who seems to have no idea about football. Duxbury has to go, but he will cling on to his job. Hodgson gave up weeks ago. He knew that the players were hopeless. We are S**t and a disgrace to the Town of Watford. No one should clap them off. If the players have any respect, they will leave the pitch as soon the last home game is over, get changed and p*ss off home.
I find it funny how the Udinese first team has a nice mixture of youth and experience, fitting the original Pozzo recruitment model while our squad is full of ageing mercenaries that can’t last a 90 minute match. Why recruit any differently in the PL. No doubt our team next year will have a few Udinese loans and free agents with no transfer fees paid. I just hope that we bounce straight back and keep the core of the team the same. Signing 17 players this year is crazy and it shows there’s no team chemistry anywhere on the pitch. Our first promotion season was primarily the team that got promoted with a few quality additions.

This kind of response because someone has a different opinion to you on our owners? Maybe you should grow up. The case against them has been made many times and in depth. If you disagree then that's your prerogative.
It wasn't so much signing 17 players. It was singing 17 players and 16 of them were either utter crap, obese, clear mercenary journeymen, not bought for the first team or just left out on loan. Utterly reprehensible negligence of our team needs over and over again. We sign players like Kayembe, Kalu and Okoye but we still haven't paid a decent fee for a centre half since Kabasele.
That Udinese team can easily get relegated in the EPL. Apart from Delofeu and maybe Beto, I don't think any of there players will get into our starting line up. Our squad is much better. Unlike what most people think, I don't think our squad is really that bad except in defence. With a good manager, we easily could have stayed up this season! Sent from my TECNO P701 using Tapatalk
