You haven’t read the threads of this forum over the last few weeks and seen people saying Bilic should be given more time (some even saying until next season!) ? This is not personal attack - but please look further.
We should be patient hard as it is and wait for the summer. No trigger happy selection this time. Let Ubenga bring in his own manager so that they can work as soon as the season is over on who to remove and who to bring in. I'm sure Ubenga has one or two managers in mind along with several players while others will be counting the days until they are pensioned off or transferred. Kabasele, Cleverly, Gosling, Kamara, Davis, Kayembe, Sarr, Pedro, Kalu, Okoye, Ngakia, Bachmann, Araujo, Bacuna and Hamer all out.
Nah that's fine, I've not seen them. There's so many issues at the moment, but Bilic definitely isn't helping
Billic has yet again shown himself to be tactically inept! Players like Louza, JP, Asprilla, Sarr available to him and we can barely muster a chance at home to Preston. Players playing with zero confidence, zero belief and zero passion! It starts from the leadership and Billic is the leader. Not fussed about the play-offs or promotion, i'm just fussed about watching a side that wants to win, battles for the shirt and mildly entertain! Time to go. Don't care who comes in, just someone that can actually galvanise the squad and make them look vaguely like a bunch of footballers!
Nil Nil. Again. We cannot score for toffee. For 45 mins, bumbling Bilic had our best eleven out there (or very close to it) and we looked devoid of these things: Cohesion Motivation A Gameplan Scoring Chances Energy Desire I heard Elton and Vinnie Jones were also at the game, so hopefully an eye openner for EJ at least. Bilic Ball is the most boring, predictable and uninteresting form of football I have ever seen us play. We have sat through a season and a half of QSF and we put up more fight than today. I thought Hull City was bad, but this tops it. That takes some doing. Arajua didn't have a great game, but to see that lump Davis come on at HT and do even less work was almost laughable. I missed the last 20mins but according to the SB I missed nothing. Preston had the best chances to win, and will probably feel a little gutted they are not leaving with all three. A point was barely what we deserved as winning the game was not on Bilic's mind from 15:00 onwards. We started slowly and took at least half an hour to actually do something. Sarr was as bad as ever, Bachmann saved us a few times towards the end of the first half and to be honest I think most of the fans' would of just shrugged and not cared even if we won. Bilic has got to go now. Preston are not Burnley. You can have a go at them, press them. We did nothing for 90mins and the game was a dead from minute one to ninety. Where that six mins of addtional time came from I do not know. Season has been over for a while. But if we want to re-build for next season, Bilic first and foremost cannot be part of it anymore. He has been given more than enough games now with an almost fully fit squad to show us an idea or plan, but time and time again nothing is witnessed. Time to revolve the doors of the manager merry-go-around again. That was torture.
That seems the most sensible decision I suppose, hoping Ubenga knows of someone available now though to be honest. I agree with most of those players leaving but will Gino be prepared to sell Sarr at a huge loss as he cant be worth more than £15 million at the moment. Pedro will be snapped up for a nice sum. Kabs is an adequate back up at this level same with Ngakia and Bachmann though.
Turgid yet again, no semblance of an attacking plan or an idea on how to consistently try to put the ball in the net. Boro put 5 past Reading, Stoke 5 past Sunderland and we have two strikers of whom neither are fit for purpose, polar opposites in style and a manager that doesn’t know which one he wants to persist with. Slav out.
We just don't look a threat at all. Once again Asprilla comes off the bench and shows more ******** than anyone on the pitch. Absolutely criminal he's been frozen out
Today has more or less rubber-stamped our fate: a finish outside the play-off places. We just haven't been good enough this season - I assumed the Championship would be a lot of our players' bread and butter, but in reality we have had a grand total of two 'commanding' wins this season and very few complete performances. It is a great shame and I do feel we need to reassess the make-up of the squad over the summer. Too many are unable to make it happen when the chips are down. If we make these sensible changes, I see no reason why we can't give promotion another (hopefully much better) go next season.
The lack of a natural goalscorer is killing us at the moment. We've been blessed with plenty in the last 20 years, even when we were crap which makes the absense all the more pronounced. Davies does useful things, but when we went up in 2015 Deeney did those things alongside scoring 25 goals. That is sadly the difference.
I don’t believe that aren’t fit for purpose. I believe the coach doesn’t know how to coach them to be the best they can be. He has a few strikers of varying styles - and cannot use of any of them to what they are good at.
Would have been there all day and not scored . Can hardly say we created any clear cut chances which is probably a bigger issue considering we had a lot of attacking “talent “ out there . And they must beg told to pass the ball around the back like a hot potato .
First half was one of the worst 45 mins of football I've seen. Build up play was abysmal and the rare times we did get it around their penalty area Araujo was dominated by 3 CBs. 2nd half Asprilla helped change the balance of the game but was still a grim showing. Surely Bilic gone. Preston didn't really offer much, but the LWB Fernandez looks a talent.
Deeney also gave a crap about the club, town, badge and the honor of playing for us. Davis knows he's here short term and doesn't bother or want to put the effort in. Despite us having a very good team out there in the first half, nothing happened. Bayo would of done more than Davis.
Sorry. This is largely nonsense. It’s true what you say - but you have spoken as if everything else is fine. It’s not. It’s a mess. A goalscorer would be delicious - but we aren’t laying chances on a plate for one to score. The he whole team is a total disaster. It’s an unbalanced mess. A natural goalscorer is the tip of the iceberg. Arguably, sort out everything else, and Araujo is the natural goalscorer. Who knows. But blimey, our problems are far deeper than who plays up front.
What a boring match. Should have had a penalty in 2nd half from my angle but didn't really create anything. Feels like some of the players can't be bothered to even do basics. Cathcart was particularly useless.
I can't believe Cathcart survived half time. Unless Gaspar wasn't fit it was unforgivable keeping Cathcart on after his first half. He's far to stiff to play out wide. The only reason I wouldn't want to see Bilic go is the embarrassment of another head coach being sacked. I just can't see what we are trying to do in the attacking phase.
Desperate. Hoedt was useless. Choudhury is an absolute liability under pressure. The confusion between Bachman and Hoedt at the end summed the whole afternoon. Sarr needs a spell on the bench. Hopeless.
That was very poor . Preston were similar to Many sides we’ve played this season . Offering virtually nothing , time wasting , sh#thousing etc , but still managing to stop us playing . Simply not good enough and we’ve been seeing these performances all season . There are no excuses now though . It seems to be s combination of getting bullied, our final ball being poor and no one ego looks confident at finishing the chances we do get . The latter has definitely deteriorated from Earlier on in the season when I felt we were finishing our chances . Now we just don’t look Like scoring . We did improve in the second half mainly Inspired by Asprilla who was excellent and we should have won it with the chances we had . But wasted 45 mins doing nothing. just a mention of Araujo . I know Davis is not playing well but he appears to offer literally nothing . I know he had that one assist but what I’ve seen of him so far Bayo was better . If he hadn’t been hounded out of the club I think he would probably have made some kind of contribution. I don’t really want to see Bilic sacked, even though if he goes there is still a glimour of hope for the season . We are not gonna get in the playoffs barring a miracle let’s just see it out and push again next season with whoever the club is appointing . This is feeling a bit like the Vialli season now, which promised so much but is fizzling out .
So so many unforced errors and mistakes, compounded by some really poor officiating. We could have played for another 90mins and still not scored.
I agree with 99% of this - but I must ask….why don’t you want Bilic sacked? Is it just a reputation thing as far as the club is concerned? (Which I do understand - but in terms of ‘bad press’, I really don’t think anyone cares anymore) I think we just have to hope that Gino has handed over power to Manga - and Manga has wanted to give Bilic a chance. And any action now is due to Manga wanting to get his man in situ, rather than Gino just bypassing Manga and doing what he wants etc etc.
Hard to see where our fan nimrods go from here. Detached from top 2. Falling away from playoffs in the piddly league. The man who they labelled “out of depth” to defend Pozzo building a buffer over us.
