I also think it's pretty near the truth. My wife has had several occasions where a bloke is either inappropriate or won't leave her alone and had made her feel uncomfortable or threatened.

Having an 8 year old daughter, it makes me feel sad that she will be treated as second class and most likely be subject to that sort of thing.

I've often thought about getting the kids to do martial arts and this only reinforces that.

Someone did another video exactly like this, but the woman walked through a different part of town and got maybe a couple of looks at best.

The video aimed to highlight that although this problem does exist, the original video was shot walking though a run down part of town where a lot of the people were homeless or hard up and just hanging around the streets doing anything to alleviate their growing boredom.

Looking at the replies, maybe I am wrong to think this survey is exaggerating.

I guess I haven't witnessed much of it myself, which is why I assumed these results were ridiculous. Admittedly now, having considered what everyone is saying I am probably looking at this from the wrong perspective.

There's some nasty types out there the deservedly need a good kicking. Some of the stories above are scary as is some of that edited video. But we also need to be careful that we don't cry wolf. It's got to the stage now where the term "playing the race card" is in common usage. Crying wolf too many times and people start to ignore the dangers.

The sexes are different. Harassment is out of order, but asking someone if they're interested or complementing them is not harassment. You've got to make the first move somehow otherwise we'll be doomed to be a race of singletons and die out in a generation.

Just adding a bit of balance.

This was the sort of message I was going to try and convey, but I wasn't sure how to put it.

To be fair there must be millions of women that would love to be whistled at or complimented but never get such attention.

i celebrated International Woman's Day by driving around with the window open on what was a sunny afternoon, cat calling and wolf whistling ugly women to cheer them up.

We all need to do our bit.

I took 7 attempts to park my car at work and left it diagonally across 2 spaces.

Anyone advocating sharia law should be sectioned under the mental health act.

Getting groped in a club would be unwanted sexual touching, 35% doesn't seem at all high.

A woman is sexually harassed every two minutes in Britain. It's an appalling statistic, not to mention she is getting pretty pissed off with it as well.

Well, my personal response to getting groped in a club was never to accuse the perpetrator of indulging in "unwanted sexual touching"; I found informing him in a less than polite manner to stop as he had no chance, was much more effective. If getting groped in a club qualifies for this survey, however, I would say 35% seems ridiculously low.
