4 goals 2 assists in1684 minutes isn't exactly "tearing it up". If he's an excellent Champ player then Norwich will surely keep him next season. If he was that good, which he isn't, then Norwich would have probably kept him for the Prem. He's 29 and so unlikely to improve. So no, we def don't need to sign him.
Ukrainian CB Rakitskiy has asked to have his contract at Zenit cancelled over the conflict and has been granted. Been a big fan of his for a while, would be a great signing for someone.
Would you say that he’d be a great signing for someone but not for us given our squad/age profile in that position?
That's true, his age had completely bypassed me, I thought he was still 28 or so, his 4 years in Russia has absolutely flown by!
He's only 32. In our standings if he's Foster's age or below - he's in. Looks like quite a tough player - something we have missed since Holebas left. Could be good competition for Samir if we did somehow survive relegation and kept the majority of our core squad.
Lanzini, Fornals, Bowen, Benrahma - surely they've already been greedy enough when it comes to final third jinkers?!?
I guess we won’t be in this market - haven’t got a game after this weekend till April and that is Liverpool away before this deal ends . https://mobile.twitter.com/GFFN/sta...io/iframe/twitter.min.html1501147145298141184
It’s not that the new players can only play until April 7th, it’s that they have until April 7th to sign. Now that we’ve added Gosling we don’t have a slot in the squad but we could do worse than hoovering up some talent for next season this way.
Having a think on who we keep from current squad and loaned players when we go down: 2x GK: Okoye Eliott 2x RB: Femenia Ngakia 4x CB: Samir Sierralta WTE Cathcart N'koulou (Unlikely) 2x LB: Kamara Masina 1x CDM: Etebo (£1.5m purchase option) 3x CM: Louza Kayembe Dele-Bashiru 5x Wingers: Cucho Kalu Zinckernagel Baah Asprilla 2x ST: Pedro King Sold: Sarr Dennis Pussetto Fletcher Sema Quina Sissoko Terminate Contract: Gosling Rose Loan out: Dahlberg Hungbo Pollock Kabasele We need 1x GK, 1x CB, 1x CDM, 1x CM at minimum but as a basis this is pretty good for the Championship at least.
I predict we'll start the first game of the Championship season with this team: Dahlberg Ngakia Cathcart Kabasele Masina Cleverley Kayembe Etebo Kalu King Sema Sold/released - Foster, Bachmann, Okoye, Nkoulou, Kiko, Kamara, Sissoko, Louza, Sarr, Dennis, Cucho, JP.
Don’t think Louza’s going anywhere, he’ll be great for us. If Cleverley & Cathcart are starters again it’ll just show the owners have learnt precisely nothing. Unmotivated Josh King would be horrible too, hopefully one of the promoted teams take him off us.
2 pieces of news today, the first is Nkoulou played 30 mins for u23's today. Second, a small story about Suarez and his poor form for Granada. It suggests they will not buy all his economic value so it might be we still own 20 or 30% of him or someone does. Nothing written to support it though.
Presume Nkoulou was carried off after 30 mins ? But... but... but.... Suarez was the hottest young striker in Spain and it was a travesty that he didn't stay to fire us to promotion last season ??
Did I hear 'loophole' or 'pushing the boundaries of the rules to the very limit' and 'Gino'. Na, couldn't be.
See if West Ham will be receptive to us taking Harrison Ashby on a season long loan. Looks a good prospect and unlikely to be a first teamer for them next year.
He's made over 60 appearances for Granada in the last two seasons, including playing in the Europa League and got himself into the Colombian national squad so probably fair to say it's been a successful move for him and them.
Third-party ownership was banned by the PL in 2008/2009 and EFL followed soon after. A more vague ruling was brought in by FIFA and UEFA in 2015 but as far as I can see, in English football there is no loophole or allowance for a player to be part-owned by another club. Unless you know or have found something? (Keep your reply civil rather than weighing it down with insults as per!)
Remember the Tevez/Mascherano saga at West Ham? It was the fall out from that. I wonder what ever happened to the Chief Exec who mired the Hammers in that mess?
http://sportwitness.co.uk/far-corre...ey-watford-exit-harm-future-hornets-payments/ I have posted this link in case there is anyone who has not read the article (to which BusheyOrn referred).
How rudely presumptuous. I honestly just wasn't sure what kind of scenario you and BusheyOrn were referring to, and had forgotten about the whole Tevez thing.
Sometimes foreign clubs and articles use clauses and sell on clauses as part of the economic rights - so whilst technically we've sold Suarez and have no stake in him, if we had a 20% sell on clause then Granada would have 80% of his economic rights - which would be legal by FIFAs ruling. Doesn't sound like a sell on clauses is what they're referring to here, but could be other clauses kicking in (such as appearances made) that will raise the value of the fee.
