Blimey, do you run a restaurant?

It’s not so much that you can’t cook in those other ways but that the air fryer would cook quicker (other than the MW, obvs), more healthily and at less cost.

Still, I’m treading on the toes of @wfcmoog here.

Mrs TuT bought one 2 months ago. About 3 weeks ago I recall she cooked some fish fingers in it. I believe it saved us about 10 mins of oven-cooking time :) !

No, no you preach brother! Preach the Gospel of Ninja!

You would barely use your oven if you had an AF. And you'd certainly ditch the deep fat fryer - Yuk!

It's bizarre that you'd keep such a range of counter cluttering nonsense and dispense with the one, truly useful piece of kitchenalia. I guess it's cultural differences - maybe food and entertaining are different in the Middle East?

Live from UEA’s kitchen. Simply no room for a fryer (or UEA).

Oven cooked fish fingers? Pah. You have to grill them if you want that lovely browning on top. Won't get that in an air fryer.

Ultra-processed food thread? Fish fingers are 100% haddock testicle and nasal passages.

    Mmm. Nasal passages.

Wait are you telling me that they contain "processed" testicles and nasal passages ? I'd always assumed they were pure testicles and passages, coated in natural orange fish bone granules. This outrageous. Who do i write to to complain ? Do you have an address for Capt Birdseye ? Findus the fishermen now !

He gets around food standards by basing himself offshore, in international waters. Anything goes for these frozen food pirates.

Obviously @UEA_Hornet is happy to throw money away on turning on one of his mega oven for his chicken nuggets, rather than putting the air fryer on.

I watched a documentary where Denise Van Outen did all sorts of detailed experiments to prove this.

I still think this is appropriate for the 'Things I Hate' thread because plenty of people are going to hate these updates.

The air fryer's debut will be tomorrow night (Tuesday March 10 at approximately 5.30pm). I will be trialling homemade chicken goujons (chicken breast cut into strips and coated with panko breadcrumbs which sometimes work really well in a conventional oven but often don't brown enough, or the coating comes off) and potato wedges.

Can we get the Shoutbox open for live updates?!

Are you covering the chicken in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs? Only a madman would try and stick the breadcrumbs straight on.

Well if you do go for a shoutbox please let me know so I've got time to clear space on the kitchen counter for my iPad.

The ONS have now added air fryers into the 'basket' for calculating inflation.

I've been trying to convince my wife that we should get one but she thinks space would be an issue, but if I were to remove my coffee machine.... end of conversation.

Great news. I got £50 off my air fryer so this must mean inflation is coming down!

It's not representative unfortunately. Air fryers were fashionable like bitcoin and the world has now turned against them. They will be giving them away soon.

Solution is not to even consider eating chicken (allegedly) nuggets in the first place.

I only like fresh food, so I make my own out of chicken feet, beak, offal and cartilage, with a few herbs and breadcrumbs.

I throw away the rest of the chicken as I don’t have a recipe that would use leg or breast.

I can't remember the last time I was as excited as when I saw the symbol for "air fryer" on my frozen chip packet with cooking instructions beneath.

That's how you can tell the middle classes, eh? A desk!

Most I've ever had is a locker.

But then I got blisters on my hands rather than on my arse.

You were lucky. We never had lockers. I used to dream of having a locker. Just a small one, nothing flashy....
