Tom had the best business plan by far.

 

Call me an old cynic, but that ending with her saying she had a second business plan, sounded well scripted!

Anyway, pleased Tom won!

Helen was savvy and sensible but effectively a PA. Sugar has just stated that if the show was in the old format then she would have won hands down. I would imagine that he will give her and Jim jobs in one of his firms.

I reckon Sugar just wants the rites to any worthwhile inventions Tom comes up with, he'll stitch Tom up like a kipper IMO

Tom has clearly been taken on, regardless of how crap his current plan is, because he's got a proven track record of taking an idea from his head to the shelves of a major retailer. And he waited right until the end to reveal that he actually did it in a really forthright way which doesn't tally with the nice, polite, reserved bloke we've seen for the last 12 weeks. TVOR is probably right as well in that if Tom can keep coming up with bonkers ideas but one in every 20 is a gem, Sugar can take 50% of any profits while essentially paying Tom some money on the side to chase his own whackier ideas.

Helen is clearly not an entrepreneur. Her business plan sounded sh*te. I think people in GCSE Economics come up with better thought out business ideas. Even my flipping NHS dentist sends me a text message reminder ahead of my appointments. And if the biscuit shop idea really was a close second in her mind she was totally compromised by Karen Brady in the boardroom first time around and when she came back in she essentially sounded like a parrot saying whatever she thought Sugar wanted to hear. Whatever happens though she's got to have guaranteed herself a new role with her current employer on more money and with more responsibilities.

 

I think she would have been better off running with the "MYPY" idea, I think that could have legs, I also think they should have added an "E" on the end "MYPYE"

Surprised that Tom won. I thought it was between Jim and Susan.

 

Jim's business plan wasn't even a business and Susan runs a cottage industry which has no potential to be upscaled with less than about £5m of cash to burn.

Tom won by default really. They should have done the business plans at the start.

Who knows which of the people who screwed up in a task designed to test employees actually had a golden idea for a business, but was sent home before they could sell it.

I reckon hers might have been another 'won't somebody think of the children' charity type thing, along the same lines of the thing Jim was trying to pedal.

I think they will go back to the old format of giving someone a job next time, IMO this format does not work as well.

Talking about hiring someone, Tom could do a lot worse than to offer Helen a job IMO.

 

At this rate we'll have Sugar, Tom, Susan & Helen in the same buisness.

Glad Tom won though - even with his record of wins : losses. Good stuff, but as you say, I wouldn't be surprised if the prize next series was a job again - if they do run with the buisness investment, the series layout could need a bit of tweaking - for example, with when they submit their buisness plans.

Still the whole series was as good as ever for entertainment value.

 

I thought the end episode was a damp squib compared to previous seasons , wasnt reall anything in it that shed proper light on any of their business plans

 

Anybody see the USA Celebrity apprentice?

It's quite good. Someone poured a drink over Peirs Morgan after he said he didn't know who she was.

 

I did - but I thought it was pretty awful in standard of entertainment compared to the UK version. I know it was the Celebrity one, and that all the dollar went to charity which is good - but it wasn't a great watch from my point of view - though Piers Morgan provided some amusing insights.

 

Anybody see last weeks one, where Piers Morgan pretended to have a fight with a guy, sent him out and he joined the girls team to spy on them.

It ended up with him being a double agent wanted the girls team to win. He resigned.

I didn't know who any of the women were.

The guys have Lennox Lewis, Piers Morgan (OK, famouse for being a **** in the UK), the guy from Kiss, a Baldwin (which one is irrelevent) and a guy who I presume is massively famous in the US because he's a country music star.

Oh, I'd heard of the Romanian gymnast, but I wouldn't have been able to pick her out of a line up.

 

Did anyone watch the start of the Young Apprentice last night?

I've just started watching. 1 minute in and I hate the little ****s already.

It's actually a shame that Mohammed was fired. The racial tension would have boiled over in the next few episodes. Comedy gold.

That Northern Irish guy's voice is very annoying as well.

As usual, the junior edition was very watchable last night. The only thing that really pi**ed me off was the hour long advert for Chessington, guess where we were going today :dismay:.

I was sad Mohammed was fired, he would have been the worst team leader in the shows history.

 

I couldn't last longer than 10 minutes. Normally I'm a fan of the Apprentice, but I think I'll give the Disney Version a miss this year.

 

Not worth watching now that Mohammed has gone.
