Absolutely. The Pozzos have funded an army of killer robots to hunt down and eliminate anyone criticising them, and the loyal FTRE lackeys have co-ordinated the assault. There is no actual evidence of this which itself is clear proof of a deep conspiracy. But you didn’t hear it from me, right?

I think that’s quite revealing. As I suspected the first few profiles were based on profile. The last few were actual names he provided.

It’s also clear that he acknowledges that some signings were not that good. Not saying it directly but he’s laying the groundwork.

The club is a shambles. Edwards gave them direction of what strikers he wanted at the start of the summer and the best they could come up with is Bayo and Manaj?

It truly feels like these players were purchased as favours to people (we know about Bayo already), in which case they're not acting in the best interests of the club. Best case scenario is that they're just truly terrible at identifying players. I'm not sure what's worse.

 

For me, the picture is clear. The Pozzo’s have nailed it in South America. The scouts they use there are first class and constantly deliver.

Outside of that sector I think their track record for identifying players is quite poor. Largely ignore young British talent and do not invest in the academy.

Whoever overlooks Europe is generally terrible at their job and it’s baffling why the system hasn’t been change. We invest a lot of money, relatively speaking, for little success. We’ve done it again. We’ve signed 3 players from European clubs who we want rid already. They will not take us to the Premier League. They will only hinder it.

I think the problem must be Gino himself. I think he fancies himself as a talent scout, and he basically sucks at it. He should give the role to someone who knows what they’re doing.

So far this summer we’ve signed an over the hill player from Spain, an over-priced forward from a weak league who can’t hit a barn door, a nobody journeymanwhose biggest claim to fame seems to be that he didn’t actually ever play for Barca, a striker who seems to be all of injured, unfit and unwell, a central defender not yet ready to start, a third choice keeper and Choudhury who has started off well for us at least

This team is easily good enough. We just need a cheerleader manager to make them all feel good.

 

The way I see it Clearly wants to play 3 Centre backs and wing backs but we signed gasper who clearly isn't either but he feels the need to have to play him rather than shoe Horning kamara over on the right which he done near the end, need a competent rwb ASAP GINO

 

Was at the game today, and you can see just how frustrated Rob was getting with the players, visibly throwing his hands in the air as a pass wasn't made, or our defence got pulled out of shape by Kabasele deciding to loose track of his man . . Really feel sorry for Rob as he has well and truly been shafted by Scott and Gino in the squad he has been given, and all this talk about change just simply is a load of b*11ocks.
The one thing as supporters we must not do is turn on Rob, inthunk there's a really good coach there just with a crap set of players

Why is it that we have not been able to sign any decent players on.
Why have players either on a loan move or a permanent move turned us down and decide to sign elsewhere?

 

Hopeless manager. Massively out of his depth. We desperately need an experienced Italian manager who our prima Donnas can respect.

 

I wasn't at the game today. I agree to some degree in what you say that we may not have strengthened in all departments.

However in virtually all 6 games our formation has felt off. We've been overrun in midfield. We've struggled to join defence to midfield to attack.

For the majority of games we have had the luxury of 2/3 premier league forward players who we all thought we'd lost.

He makes subs very late. All the time. Perhaps he doesn't trust our bench. But at a few games - Brum, West Brom, Burnley, today to name 4, tactics have been wrong, subs or formation changes have been made far, far too late, and we've riden a lot of our luck to have clung on to the results we have.

I'm more than happy to give him time to get the team to play to his style, but he also needs to learn to not be scared to adapt and change things up when things are most clearly not going well.

 

To be fair to him, I think it's easy to underestimate the challenges of the squad as it is, even with star players in the side. Sarr and JP were in the squad last time we were in this division, but although they were excellent players (JP probably not as good as he is now, Sarr arguably better), we rarely blew teams away, especially until the likes of Hughes and Masina came back to made the team look a lot more balanced. It could even be argued that they are holding us back in a way, having to build the team around them when fit even when they don't really fit the squad, when we could have just sold them and rebuilt the squad (for the record I definitely wouldn't make that argument about JP, about Sarr...maybe)

In addition, there are examples of Edwards over the 7 games he's had in charge where he has changed things up mid game which has shifted the game more in our favour. Ultimately, whatever he has tried so far, he has been stiffed by both injuries and a lack of support, our squad will look much better when fully fit, but at the moment it's lacking, and even when fully fit doesn't look complete and certainly doesn't look as good as it did in the second half of 20/21. It's hard to dominate midfields, even at this level, when you rely on players like Cleverley, Kayembe and Gosling, and it's hard to join defence to midfield to attack when in addition to those players, we haven't seen a single centre-back who can pass the ball effectively

 

Xisco was extraordinarily lucky to stumble across an extremely talented squad for the league, right when key players were coming back to fitness, with the key man holding us back on the pitch fortuitously picking up an injury not too long after. You say this team is easily good enough, and they may well prove to be so, but where are our Hughes and Chalobah? Where's our Kiko? Even Cleverley and Gosling were good Championship players then, and we are still regularly picking players this season who couldn't get in the side then

 

Considering he was a defender I find it funny that we look hopeless in that department.

 

Does himself no favours by playing a formation you'd expect to see in an U12's match.

I really hope he comes good.
However my nagging, gnawing doubt is I know how the coaching system was standardized by UK Sport seventeen or so years ago.
It was about that time I took my tutoring course and frankly some of the people ( not all,a number were excellent) you wouldn't want putting out the balls,let alone teaching prospective coaches.

The pathway for football and tennis therefore is roughly the same and if you use tennis as a template and the FA want more coaches, especially as it brings in money (I assume they have control of the higher levels,the LTA do) then a number are going to be hapless.

I hope RE isn't one of them but dealing with our imbalanced squad and certifiable owner would test Cesar Menotti and send them into a chain smoking despair!

 

Same old story. Fans complain that Pozzo has made the club a joke and they want stability. But still call for a manager's head after any rough patch (1 loss in 6!!)

 

The difference of course being that Edwards isn't some rando who's just taken a course, he's a former Premier League and Wales international footballer, has already coached some of the brightest talents in the country, as well as having a successful year of management at senior level under his belt. He may or may not prove successful here, but I don't think that criticism is valid

 

Absolutely amazing that people are slagging off Edwards - Gino has our fan base right where he wants them. Such a shame.
