Cleverley and Cathcart... Will we ever be rid of them? Nothing against them personally, sure they are nice blokes, just football wise past it, and past it two or three seasons ago. That's quite the exodus of players, but we did say we needed a clean slate, and it looks like, on the face of it at least, we are trying to do that. Incomings are going to be crucial. I had a hunch we could mount a playoff push late into the season, at the moment, staying away from the bottom three would be the aim.

Seems like JJ McKiernan might be one of the three youth players to make the step up, judging by the fact he was with the first team yesterday (pains me to say that the collection of players yesterday is the first team).
Must have really impressed in his *checks notes* four minutes of action for Bohemians on loan in the League of Ireland! He's 20 too, I'd assumed he was 17/18.
Yep, it seems highly unlikely McKiernan is good enough to be one of those three mentioned; he'll be just making up the numbers.
Pretty common to do that in pre-season training I think. The group won't start to thin out until they travel to whatever secret camp they've got planned.
I know it’s only June but this pre season is shaping up to a be a nightmare on the scale of the 2020 relegation. Good players leaving for no reason, no one coming in. All signs point to another 20/21 style disaster where I presume we finished in the bottom half.
