If we could rewrite those inspirational messages on the training room wall to encapsulate last season what would they be? "We go again" "It aint over until we inevitably go 1-0 down within the first 20 minutes" "Like, Share and Subscribe you Legends!"
Im not pretending hes a cultured ball player. He is just capable of basic passes without passing straight to the opposition striker as WTE likes to do. He is consistently not great but he rarely individually costs you a game. The likes of WTE and Kabasele make individual game losing mistakes every few matches. Its a very low bar but Id at least trust Craig to come on the last 10-20 minutes of a game to help us hang on. If either of those two came on I'd put money on them giving away a pen or ducking under the ball.
Okoye thinks he's so special wearing a different top to everyone else, his ego is out of control. Am I right @LaClusazSki?
From all I've heard so far.... There's a few gone so a few will come in over the next few weeks. Then as others leave leave they will look to replace them unless they feel we've got someone in the current squad that RE thinks will cover. In our current position it's clear we need another attacker, a new target man, and a new energetic CM. I'll bet we won't get a CB in unless one leaves..? I think Sema and Cathcart can do a job in the championship, ditto a few others... Just got to hope RE can whip Em up into a snarling bunch..?
We need a proper defensive midfielder and another centre midfielder who is high energy with a goal threat. And a goalscorer. Those are are musts, and they need to be good enough to come straight into the starting eleven. Nice to haves would probably be a target man and a ball playing centre back, plus someone who can cover either wing back role.
Good luck. I'm 100% certain this brain dead club will be happy to go into the season with Gosling and Cleverley as a midfield pairing. "Proven in the Championship" bla bla bla. Going to be funny to watch that bubble burst with them and a few others this season. It was only about three years ago Cleverley and Cathcart etc. were "proven in the Premier League", how did that one work out in 19/20 and 21/22? Watford fans still seem to think time stands still though, no matter how hard the evidence to the contrary smashes them in the face.
We need at least two goalscorers. We'll likely be playing two up top and right now we likely have zero.
It worked out pretty well in the Championship though, which is where we'll actually be playing next season... Though both are passed their best and I'm not convinced will even be that effective in the Champ next season any more either.
Our midfield looked rank until Hughes came back into it. Clevs charging around ineffectually and 2 seconds late. Not convinced Cleverley had it in him to play in the champ week-in-week-out 2 seasons ago, never mind now. Think Cathcart is passable, at least compared to some of the other areas ...
Two years ago. Two years is a long time and makes a world of difference at their ages, especially when you're that sort of pressing midfielder. Cleverley looks absolutely shot and Gosling has barely kicked a ball since that season. Neither should be anywhere near our starting XI.
You are correct. Gosling and Cleverley are to be our centre midfield. Duxbury feels that this is enough for the Championship.
Awful squad Angellini is far better with the ball at feet the other two. Ngakia is frightened of the ball. Cathcart is a carthorse WTE hopeless and a mistake waiting to happen. Gosling does lots of running Cleverley, the legs have gone. Upfront, l recommend the opposition Keeper brings a deckchair and a good book to read.
This 100%. If we are selling players before Edwards has seen them train it suggests that lessons really haven't been learnt.
Unless he has already said he doesn't want/can do without those players or it's always been accepted that they would leave like Sarr, Dennis or Sissoko, .....or do you think he should have the chance to decide he'd like to keep those 3 as well ?
I think he won't get any say whatsoever in who we keep, sell, or buy tbh. Sarr and Dennis are a bit different as 'on paper' they are far too good for the Championship and can bring in good money. Cucho is in a different bracket imo.
It’s going to be anyone we can get money for or wants to leave will be off regardless of what the manager thinks .
