Red Bull Watford please. I would sell my soul and bite your hand off.

We would probably win the Premier League with Red Bull if their race fixing antics translate to football.

People still running the entitlement defence is so tedious. You just don’t get it - most of us are in despair about the charmless rotten club Pozzo has turned us into. It isn’t about results. Good results just make people tolerate our owner and his sidekick. These people are poison.

they own two teams already don’t they ? Wasn’t there something about what would happen if there two teams met

more likely to get taken over by twinings :)

That was supposedly the case, but RB Leipzig and Red Bull Salzburg were in the same Europa League group in 2018, and they played each other twice - all it meant was that Salzburg had to compete as 'FC Salzburg' to comply with FIFA regulations...

I think they then did something to ensure they were both allegedly independent so couldn’t theoretically do each other a favour (different divisions within red bull or something )

Written out in words that seems mad doesn’t it, but my feelings of disillusion with Football / Watford / Pozzo began in that first season in the Premier League under QSF. Binning off the manager and half our squad and replacing them with mainly dross. Ok yes it “worked” because we stayed up but it just didn’t sit right with me and still doesn’t. We ripped the soul out of the team to stay up and towards the end of that season watching us play was absolutely infuriating. Next season under Mazarri was one of my least favourite seasons epitomised by no more than 2 players at any time running over the celebrate with the goal scorer - if that doesn’t show you how much they cared about playing for Watford then nothing will.

Yes this has been a successful period, but why has it coincided with the least I have ever enjoyed following this club over the course of the last 6 years? It’s not all just down to the modern game. It’s the way we operate, we are a soulless club.

If I ever become a billionaire, I will buy Watford from Gino, kick Duxbury out the door, erase all our club debt and pay off all the dead wood's contracts. Then we can all debate on here who to sign and if we want to get Pep as manager.

What pisses me off the most is when we finished 11th we were only 2-3 smart recruitments away from a top 7 finish and going for Europe. It's partly the pozzos fault with their recruitment of players like Gray (record fee for a player in final year of contract), Dawson, Cathcart, Mariappa, Success etc. But I also think Gray can go **** himself. The guy posts on social media about how he hates 'lightys' yet hes half black himself the stupid ****

I think it is incredibly overblown and astonishingly smug, with one or two aspects of truth, to be honest - and I don't think, given my history, anyone will mistake that for me defending the owners or the situation we are in.

Yes guess so in a way - sure only 2 weeks ago they were laying into their owners and team .

But some have on here said they have felt something is missing from the club now.

Having said that guess football in general has lost some community sprint and players will come and go so we are hardly alone in that sense .

Most of the players Norwich sign will just be passing through with no great connection as well .

Ok, so, here is a question for you:

When the obese, bellowing police chief barrels into his detective's office and barks 'A ROBBERY'S BEEN COMMITTED, ROUND UP THE USUAL SUSPECTS!'

Do you think that, upon the exit of the chief, the detective sits down, swivels his chair to face his underlings, and says in a slightly exasperated manner 'Well, I hope they out themselves soon, so we can get on with doing what the chief wants!'.

Or, do you suspect, they might immediately get up, leave the office with purpose, and track down several people who they believe collectively form the cadre of the usual suspects, because being the usual suspects, by definition they are already known to them?

    upload_2022-1-23_19-59-35.png

Is just pure fantasy. As you say, what he's describing is modern football.

Watford have a very active community trust who engage very regularly with the local community, including charity endeavours and visits to hospitals. We all know about the calls to lonely season ticket holders and the support for NHS staff at Watford General during the pandemic - it's about the one thing the club gets right at the moment, and an idiotic and disingenuous thing to come for us with - it just shows they're doing it as an opposition fan to justify slating us, rather than giving a genuinely intelligent, considered opinion.

Just as much to the point, exactly how many of the players Norwich have signed are so intimately tied in to Norwich and its way of life?!? Their squad is also a laundry list of nationalities, and there really are not a great deal of local Naarch lads in there. They might live a little closer, but if so that's largely because there's absolutely fucck all there for 50 miles in any direction other than the city itself.

The smugness just radiates off it, and it's not even justified - as some have pointed out, they were also dreadful on Friday, just not as dreadful as us, and they are also very likely to be relegated. It's a bitter little comment, which also happens to semi-coincidentally hit on some truths, like the fact/accusation that we're predominantly a player trading vehicle.

It looks like complete and utter ******** to me. Do we have £100 million debt? I was under the impression that the bank balances were in a much healthier state. We also have sellable assets. Like plenty of others, I think the strategy this season was to reduce our debt significantly, hence why we self-funded our transfers against player sales.
I don't feel like we are soulless or pathetic. I may not agree with some of the Pozzo's do, but we are still Watford playing at Vicarage Road with the same surroundings. All be it probably better facilities. What does it matter where the players live? Most will likely live in London, and why wouldn't you we have one of the best City's in the World on our doorstep. The club does loads in the community. Yes, our players are there for trading mostly, but this is modern football, not the 1980's. I think the owners care what league we are in, even if they do bad business. We are a small club outperforming many bigger clubs and have spent six of the past seven seasons in The Premier League. We have massively outperformed Norwich. Despite our relegation, we have come 14th and 11th in the Premier League within the last five years and made the FA Cup final and achieved automatic promotion the first time of asking. I get the point about putting 11 players in a shirt. However, I can't entirely agree that it has been like that for the past five years. We don't entertain, and we grind out occasional results? Our wins this season have included a 5-2 win at Goodison and 4-1 at home to Manchester United. Statistics show that we score more and create way more chances than Norwich. Before our shambolic performance on Friday, they had scored ten goals this season.
I do understand the frustrations regarding the youth team set up but then on the flip side we are able to scout players such as Pedro, Cucho, Asprilla and Richarlison at a young age. What is the alternative Delia Smith? If you think Gino is tin pot take a look at their ownership. They will only go so far with Delia Smith in charge.

That is still what they are SUSPECTS until they out themselves as being guilty or have it proven that they are the guilty ones.

But your entire conceit in the first place was not 'the usual suspects' of this board outing themselves as guilty of a crime - it was of outing themselves as being 'the usual suspects'. Surely you understand this, given it was you that referred to them, and therefore did it, in the first place?

The meaning of the individual word 'suspects' in this context is basically irrelevant. It would have functioned in the same way if the expression replaced 'suspects' with any other word used to refer to members of a collective. 'Round up the usual ticklewinks'. 'The usual ticklewinks are outing themselves'.

By your new logic here, we would all have to have replied to your post with no response to the content of the post at all, but instead solely 'slagging Skyla and everyone else off'. Which obviously didn't happen.

What a strange post. Focusing on Gray who’s no longer at Watford and mentioning something he tweeted over 10 years ago?

    Absurd.
